No, that form of it is called elitism. Patriotism is one's love for your country. I love Australia, but I ain't gonna say it's better than every other country. I haven't lived there. There are many other countries you could argue are better than America and you would have millions agree with "insert country". But they don't live in America, and you don't live their countries. So no one really has the right to say.

@@carolyna.869 I understand it, I dont agree with it. A lot of Americans feel that if we dont go balls to the wall for Israel 100 percent of the time, we will be a Caliphate in a week. Then there is the religious aspect, a lot of Christians feel like not being pro Israel is like slapping Jesus

In the Talmud in Gittin 56b-57a a Roman, Onkelos, the nephew of Emperor Titus during his conversion to Judaism uses necromancy to raise a man named "Yeshu Ha-Notzri" (Jesus the Nazarene/Jesus the Christian) and asks him what his position is in the afterlife, Yeshu responds that he is in "Gehenna" (hell) in "Tzoah Rotachat" (boiling excrement) as a punishment for mocking the words of the sages.

Edit: still a Zionist in the sense that Israel has a right to exist for the protection of Jewish people in a world where they are 0.2% of the population vs Muslims being 1/4 of the world's population. I believe in a one state solution in a few hundred years after deradicalization and reforms happen in Palestine and the wider Muslim community. Thankfully Israel is a democracy and Netanyahu will be gone in the next election. The same can not be said of Hamas. Democratic is a symbol of the progress of humanity. Israel as the only democracy in the middle east with a strong economy and majority secular population is necessary for global stability in the coming years.

Actually, yes. We were taught geography and maps in school and a lot of it just had Israel as that entire region. Also, I think Gaza was part of Egypt in those. Only heard of Palestine in the news, mostly about the terrors.

Not true that the typical American was "not a huge fan of [Muslims] or nothing" before 9/11. We were largely positive on Muslims. They were usually from the upper class so very assimilated to Western culture. They typically did not drink, smoke or party. If they were merchants or in the service industry, they NEVER cheated or stole anything. They were family oriented. On the whole, Muslims had a pretty good rep before 9/11.
@@ScotchedEarth Hollywood isn't real life. I know that in most of America, they were seen as being better than the typical person, if overly devout. But we don't mind devout if it doesn't involve fanatical proselytization.
