That's actually quite an impressive looking unit. Those intercar connections won't have been cheap to build. Hopefully they will be more reliable than the Bletchley ones
Thanks Roger, as long as the video comes out well I don't take too much notice of colours. Maybe a darker background affected the exposure yesterday, looking downwards and lots of dark trees?
@MusicalElitist1 Ex-Underground Train. Drains go Underground 🚇 Just a Stupid Name l thought up. Some stupid people call 47's DUFFS, now that is Stupid.
Great use of D stock , look modern, and lots of life left in the bodies. Seems a no brainer for rural and country lines , and a lot cheaper than purchasing brand new stock
I agree with you Dave. Hope I get the opportunity to travel in one as they will make a change from a standard DMU. My journeys are never long ones and trains like these seem ideal and if they help to reduce running costs and prevent lines closing it will be beneficial to many people.
Whenever I look at these trains the phrase ‘polishing a turd’ comes to mind. The noise doesn’t fill me with much confidence 🙈. Colour scheme is very nice tho
That's a good way of putting it Ifan. I've still not seen one actually "working properly" so to speak, maybe when in service and running to a timetable they will do the job they were designed for. If they help keep a line open, all well and good.
What a horrible noise. So we are getting rid of pacers (a good old British cheap bodge up) and want to replace it with a diesel electric transit van (with a bigger body) cheap bodge up of the same age stock? Only in Britain! Nice video though!
Thanks, I'll judge them when I've had a ride in one. I'd like to have seen it accelerating away much faster to get a better idea of what it sounds like. If it's cheaper to buy and keeps a line open, I think I would prefer it to riding on a bus.
So far I've seen all 5 units on test that have run through Kidderminster, maybe I'll get to travel on one in Wales sometime in the future when they are in service. Hope they are successful.
@@SharposWorld to be honest all they would have had to do was make the bottom of the body curved like most trains, but your right it would have likely been more expensive, but its nice none the less
Brilliant video. For old LU trains, they look pretty good!
-Kyle
Thanks Kyle, I'd like to see and hear one running fast, just curious.
Still can’t get used to seeing our old trains like this! At least we still have two as RAT’s!
These old trains were a brilliant childhood to me, as soon as they enter service within the Borderlands line, I'll be heading up there to ride it! 👍🏼
Maybe I'll get to ride on one, some day in the future. They sound easier on the ear than a basic diesel unit.
Interesting to see a 139 pass as it's goes through the station.
Yes Bob, that was pure luck. I have managed to get one in the shot when filming freights or other interesting workings in the past though.

Certainly makes a change from the usual 172 units I see. I've no idea how the Bletchley ones perform, hope they learn from experience then.
THE DRAIN TRAIN.
Good Video Paul, looks more like the Taff's Livery on this video, looked a bit Pink on yesterdays.
Roger 😎

Great video. ☺️
Thanks Joshua
SharposWorld ur welcome.☺️
Ooh, these are finally around, nice catch.
Thanks, it's good to see something different around this way.
Excellent catch on that D-Stock
Thanks Owen, hope they send some of the other units on this route for testing when they are ready
Great vid can’t wait to go
That’s a bit different for the Junction Paul. Good capture.
Thanks Mike, it certainly made a change from the usual "stuff".
Great capture it’s strangely good looking If I’m honest 👍🏻
Thanks, it's certainly different!! Makes a change from the usual stock, as does the livery.

A nice move their Paul wonder if they will come to Rowley Regis
Thanks Jamie. I'd already thought of that - give 'em a good thrash up the bank and into the loop, back down, then repeat it all a few times.

Thanks Jaden, it's good to see something different
Nice to see the Class 230 passing through Stourbridge Junction station. But at slow speed.

Thanks, it was good to have more time to see it go by, you miss so much with fast trains.

I wish the D stock train s were still running on the district line I don't like the S stock train s at all,

They could of done better on the shape
As it was originally underground stock, changing the shape of the body would've made the conversions more expensive
