What I really like about your channel is the mix of technical and mild off road. Not all of us have Jeeps or highly modified 4 Runners. It increases the appeal of your channel and gives you exposure to a larger audience.
Thanks for being patient with us (Taco and Dodge Ram) as we were trying to get turned around. Actually still surprised i got that big ol truck facing the other way. Haha! We enjoy y’alls videos. Continue being safe out on the trails.
Great meeting you!!!
18 minutes in and I already gotta say this trail is gonna have to be a must when I finally make it to Moab!! The scenery is absolutely beautiful!!
The five minutes, or so, of the trail through Onion Creek (5:13 to 10:30) 😳😳
If there are 'UA-cam Cinematography awards, *THIS* should win an award- hand's down!
WOW Thanks!!!
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Seriously. I showed the video to my wife and she felt the same way (and she isn't easily impressed) She now wants to plan a trip to Moab.
You guys are the best overlandind couple period!
Thanks so much!!!
Good run, that red stuff when wet is the worst greasy muck I have ever been on!
As a fellow Arkansan and someone that lived in WY for 7 years snow bashin', yall made the right choice!
“Let me try”…”What happened…?” 😂
This Channel Should Have a Million Subscribers!!!! Awesome Footage As Usual!
Wow, thanks!
It’s amazing how quickly a trail can deteriorate from added moisture, whether it be the wet or the frozen variety.
With so many videos of Moab It was nice to see you're interpretation of the trails, you both present a very entertaining story thank you.
Thank you very much!
Excellent run with the weather, love it 😎⭐️🤩🤣🤣❄️
You guys are awesome. .. this is why I’m gettin into this overlanding “. Great video .. plus Story Til now “ there to join ya. Right on !!!!!
Instant like! No need to watch to know it's awesome! I already know.
7:51 that drone shot. *chef's kiss
edited to add: and 8:52 nice drone work man
Thanks!!
Fantastic Scenery. The great outdoors is a key attraction. Your very lucky.
You made the right call turning around. That snow was frozen and wasn’t getting any better. I’ve played in it in the mountains around Vegas, Panamint Mnt’s and Sierras. Not my favorite thing. That’s in a 370hp magnum 360 powered Ramcharger on 35s.
I lived and worked for years on a place of immense mountain beauty, but I am still wowed every day I see mountains. So don’t worry about that.
This was shot and edited really well. I'll be in Moab this upcoming weekend. Looking forward to the Onion Creek Trail.
Great video was a pleasure riding with y’all. - JB
Thanks for driving for me.
What a great first video as a subscriber, my wife and I know our decision was a good one. Great video, thanks for posting. 👍
Yeah I love that trail.. It connects up really nice to some fun Kokopelli trail adventures.
It’s so cool seeing the snowflakes fall from your drone footage. I ran Onion Creek back in 2013 in an almost stock Sport JKU. It had recently snowed and it was cool because it was like was a white layer of frosting in on top of orange-red rocks and mud. It was awesome!
my husband & I just spent all of January there. I have to say, next to Chicken corners, that was my favorite trail although we didn't even get to make it quite as far as you guys as you can imagine the snow was crazy deep in January. I love it there so much I actually cry when we have to leave every year, lol, definitely retiring there near Blanding as long as the Good Lord's willing. Thanks again for bringing us all along on your journey.(watching those trucks slide around bout gave me a heart attack I hope they didn't go much further to the dangerous shelf road parts in those muddy conditions
Chicken Corners is great too!!
You're not lame...a smart man or woman knows when to cut their losses and turn back.
What a beautiful trail!!!! Should be on every ones bucket list!
All I could think about while driving those muddy roads, was Brad Paisley, mud on the tires. Love the video’s .
Another Banger!!! Thanks yall for a great vid!!!
Absolutely love the scenic trails that you do!!
Looks like it's going to be a amazing time!!
wow that trail got sketchy fast! Glad you made it out without too much drama :)
Wow this trail looks incredible! Gonna have to add it to the list! Drone shots were amazing through the canyons
We did this trail last March and same thing. Super thick mud and snow and it became and out and back. But it was a ton a lot of fun and amazing views.
Great video, I mentioned it to you on IG, this is one of our favorite scenic trails in Moab. We got turned back this year in January due to to much snow, ice and mud. Glad you got to experience the beauty of it👍
Awesome video love the content! Looked pretty nasty think you did the right thing turning around. Keep them coming!😎
I love that Tacky mud sound!
Fabulous footage from the drone. Surprisingly exquisite snowy drone footage too! Thank you for bringing us along.
Glad you enjoyed it
The whole trail does not stink, there are a few fishers that are scattered through there, the trail it self is beautiful. You can access Rose garden hill, then to Top of the world if you have a good map system .. top of the world at sunset is epic.....
What an awesome video! And a very beautiful place. Thank you for all the hard work you put in to making these videos. They make me feel like I'm actually there And I love it!!
Awesome! That's the goal.
that was an excellent video and fantastic drone footage.thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video! One of my far from home bucket list place!
Very nice the views were stunning
Good choice turning back around when you did. Yes, airing down would have helped, but with 1000ft more elevation, conditions would have worsened and it doesn't sound like you were prepared for an overnight. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Great video. I enjoyed the "vlog" format. Onion Creek is a great trail. Happy trails!
You’re right. Everyone’s gotta do Moab at least once. It changed my life and now I got yearly since 19.
The wife and I new to this, so far we have taken the gladiator to hidden falls in Texas. We will be making our first trip to Moab m September 18-21!!!!!! Setting up the tent and full build for some adventures.
Good call… not lame at all. If there were winchable trees ahead it might have been worth a shot, but with what you had to work with and the changing weather, smart choice. The way back seemed to offer more than enough of a challenge. Great video!
I went on this with wife and kids a few years back. It was awesome to see it again. Hope to make it back to Moab soon. Great video ✌️😎
I’ve been four times but not since 2014. When we go this October we are doing 3-4 trails we haven’t done, White Rim, Lockhart Basin and Porcupine Rim. Maybe Top if the World if we don’t turn Harah/Chicken/Lockhart into two days. We are also going to the Dinosaur National Monument and hiking to delicate arch. So a full week. Two days there and back from SC. (Was easier from Vegas or San Diego for sure) Our vacations are never truly “restful”. 😂
Good choice on turning back.
Awesome video! I can’t wait to make it out to Moab someday, it looks like an amazing place to explore!
Thanks!
Great trip n video
Very cool! Been looking hard lately at Gladiators and Moab is definitely a place I want to visit. The hard core stuff isnt for everyone but the onion creek trail may be suitable for most. Be safe and thnx!
Awesome guys. Great video, love that area. Heading out west next week, Montana.
Great video, good to see your better half out there with you in her Jeep, y’all are awesome! I’m hoping to get out to Moab once we get our new jeep, hopefully this year depending on delivery. my old TJ isn’t up to the drive to Moab from BC, or rather my back isn’t up to it in the TJ, lol. Cheers, Asha thanks for creating entertaining and informative content.
Absolutely love these scenic trail videos. Ran that one last year, so fun. Rock crawling vids are great but gotta say scenic for me wins…Kara killed it lol
PS that movie set was there last September…still going eh
Onion creek looks pretty cool. Love the drone footage in this one!🤠👍
Good video. enjoyed it!
Great video Matt! It sure looked like Kara was having fun in the mud and snow :)
Love it guys!! Great video!
Thanks so much!!
Of recent I was in canyon near Dinosaur National Monument, in the forecast the thunderstorms were on the way. A Park Ranger was on the trail frantically chasing the 2 wheel drives out. The trails are friendly until you add water, two of us in 4 wheel vehicles slipped, fishtailed, and spun out, but successfully navigated the mud. Don’t be a victim of 2 wheel or all wheel drive when Mother Nature turns the roads into mush.
Great video!
Brotha, you do some of the best video work.
Thanks so much!!!
Hilarious! So I ran into this kind of snow trying to get up to La Sal Peak. I turned around and headed towards Thompson’s Canyon and ended up in Onion Creek. So I basically ran your route backwards and on accident. 😅
That was a fabulous vlog! Definitely a good entertainment, the dynamics between you both 😎👍😎👍. And the trail from start to finish …. good show casing of the environment. But gadda say, Im enjoy watching these vlogs with both of you together on your adventures!
Thanks! 👍
I enjoyed this immensely! I had a sense of deja vu watching this - I also watch Trail Mater, and he did an offroad recovery that had to be somewhat near there in his video released on 3/28 because I recognize your boulder in the road. Those folks ended up calling SAR to get out for the night, seemingly pretty close to where you and Cara were, so I think you guys made a good choice to turn around. 😀 Great video!
amazing
Ohh and you’re not lame. The point at which you hit snow was still pretty low. It would have gotten a lot worse further up the trail and for a long way! You made a good call.
Really awesome footage. Drone shots were spot on.
Thanks 👍
Yeah, I would have turned around too lol great video as always ❤
Really awesome footage! Still watching but had to stop 10 mins in to comment! Glad I started following. Keep up the great content! 👍🏼👊🏼✌🏼
Awesome! Thank you!
I just did this trail this week and man did you guys miss some great views just ahead of where you had to turn around! One of the best views I’ve seen out west period. Also at the end of the trail you will come to the Buck Canyon Overlook Observation parking lot and there are dinosaur tracks there too. You guys need to go back and do the whole thing on the next trip! Love the content. Cheers!
Rory (from Moab) pointed out that same exact boulder in his video "polar mesa (offroad uber)" from just last week. Had he been in trailmater he could've moved that boulder to the side of the trail but he was in the other wrecker so I assume that's why he didn't. It was cool seeing 2 different videos of the same trail probably the same week with the same boulder in the way.
I'll have to go watch that one.
I believe this is your best work yet!
Wow, thanks!
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures you’re welcome!
The combination of drone and go pro video was awesome!
Thanks again guys for an epic video
As a fan of your channel from New Zealand this kind of wheeling & scenery is truly half a world away, don’t get me wrong NZ is a Gorgeous place with world class scenery but not on your kind of scale
Wonderful
Thank you
Hey Cara, that’s so cool you grew up near Heber Springs. My sister and her family have a lake house on a bluff that overlooks Greers Ferry Lake. I’ve been waterskiing on that lake. Crystal clear water and beautiful.
Greens Ferry is a favorite lake for us to go to!!!
Fairfield bay is awesome too with cool offroad trails (for us side by side enthusiasts) and a nice campground at the marina
Definitely putting this trail on my list for when we go out west. Matt your drone footage is always great but in this video it was phenomenal. And congratulations to Cara on the weight loss. , my wife is on the same mission.
Thanks so much!!
Thank you!!
FANTASTIC VIDEO!!!! LOVE the banter between you guys...heheheheeee. My wife and I are the same way!! lol. FUN STUFF!!!
Thanks so much!!
this is a great video!!
Thank you!!
I really enjoy the content, I am currently building my Gladiator and have found your videos very helpful. thanks for the content keep it up!! Maybe I'll see you on the trail sometime.
That must be the rowdiest Onion Creek trail has been in a while! I've done it a few times and those ruts are worse than I've ever seen.
Hello guys great video
Both times I've been to Moab it has been covered in snow. I hope the next time we go it isn't but also not hot.
Skeeeeeeeetchy coming down off that hill and getting sideways.
Great video! Your production skills are excellent!
Thank you!
It has been a crazy year for snow in Utah. We left northern Utah for Zions and Bryce Canyon on April 20th and it was snowing on us as we pulled out of Cache Valley. Definitely need the moisture after the last few years though.
Onion Creek is an easy trail but it’s amazing. It’s also semi unique in the world as I believe it’s considered a “salt glacier” the likes of which are only found in a few other places, most notably Iran.
Don’t forget to look up at the people on Top of the World! A few years back we took the road all the way up the valley and found a couple more picture places like that before the snow turned us around.
Real nice work with the drone shots especially.
Thanks a lot!
What a amazing trail. Next time I will do it. Hopefully is not raining 😂😂. Cool video guys.
Great stuff! Beautiful video! This video reminds me of the time I learned how NOT to drive up a snow and ice covered mountain road in Colorado. I still don't know how I got out of that one.
I can't wait to see the Pritchett video. I love your videos because I truly feel like I'm there
Thanks!!
great video. doing this trail over memorial day weekend. hopefully all the snow is gone
You’ll love it!
Never gets old wheeling with you two! Onion Creek was so beautiful to see. So wonderful to see other parts of Moab not often seen on YT. Thank you.
Two questions:
1) What would you say your travel mileage was for Onion Creek trip?
2) I always see you sporting the cool tactical pants. What brand is that? ( I wear a similar work pants designed with knee pads which I buy from UK called Snickers. They can't sell them in the US because of the name. Best work pants on the market!)

Great Drone Footage Matt, C U at Moore in a couple of weeks 😊
See you there!!
I'm coming with next time!!!!
That first turn after you go through the fencing on the trail that branches off Onion creek was kind of a pain in my F250, especially with how rutted it was when I was there making it just barely wide enough to fit down. And only thing I didn't like about Moab was having to wash off that Concrete they call mud 😅.
I’d be listening to “the mountain” by dirks Bentley as I’d be driving up a mountain rd
Just FYI: Greyish/greenish rock is the Mancos Shale.
