It's so weird how things never play out as bad as we think it would. It's just we get so focused on the idea that most things don't play out as well as we want them too so for some odd reason, we just assume that an imaginary worst case scenario, no matter how irrational and silly, is the only possibility. It's almost like we're convinced that if we lie to ourselves that things will become absolutely horrible, we'll be entitled to a feeling of satisfaction when things turn out just fine, but that satisfaction never really comes. The "prepare for the worst and hope for the best" mentality that people in the modern world are conditioned to live by leaves no room for adaptation and unforseen circumstances and so many people are running themselves ragged to live by it.

I think some people thrive on competitions. Some of the best athletes, entrepreneurs, and researchers thrive on overcoming adversity & encroaching their will over the enemy. To prove their dominance in their art and whatever competitive arena that they're placed in. And they've also developed some interesting philosophy and techniques to master the thrill of competition. Interestingly enough, there seems to be multiple approaches to how to excel while competing. Some people who are inherently competitive often do fine confronting their fear and fighting on. These people often just enjoy competition for competition's sake. Others need to keep the competitive pressures out of their world, and would rather focus on the process of getting better. Along the way, they become skilled enough to compete but it's still just secondary to them. Both ideals have formed world champions and truly successful competitors.

I object to the word “win.” Is “winning” the purpose of life? What about “satisfaction,” “accomplishment,” being kind, loving to others, and best of all, “peace of mind?” Did Socrates, Jesus, Lao Tzu, any of the great thinkers encourage us to “compete,” to go out in the world and “make a killing,” defeating everyone in our path? And, yet, our society makes a “god” out of competing and winning. Competition is a form of warfare. Is it any wonder, then, that so many suffer from ill health, both physical and mental? Hope this helps.

This leads to the “we are all talented, we are not all aware of it”. We sometimes think what we do for fun is just ok, when we really do amazing things. When you don’t fear what’s happening you are relaxed and are really talented at a lot. I once modeled an engine block in 10th grade; being nothing more than a beginner I did it because I wanted practice. I ended up showing my teacher and she was amazed by the lines and curves I was able to make. She doubted I made it, then doubted it only took me a few days. It simply was just a fun thing I did, and it turned out to be one of the most beautiful cad models she’s seen. With no risk, and no reward, doing what you love leads to things people can’t imagine. In the words of Charles Bukowski: Don’t Try.
HOW TO WIN WITHOUT TRYING? 1. LEARN TO BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING. 2. LEARN TO BE POOR, SO YOU CAN AFFORD TO BE RICH. 3. LEARN TO NEVER COMPETE, BUT ALWAYS CREATE.
Care about what you think, and you will always be your own prisoner! Identifying with own thought is the cause of “suffering” effect: Be it pleasure or pain. "Free your mind!" as people often say? Einzelgänger, thank you, I watched the video and I am proud of you. You are making videos that certainly have material that help people to change the course of their lives. The philosophy of taoism arouses my natural curiosity, because as I come across it (have not really studied it), the wisdom seems very natural, going along one´s own revelations outside book knowledge. With this I mean that wisdom unfolds to anyone on a route called human life as a member of a society. (Are we all members of a society?) People who get stuck (=perhaps ideal citizens) repeat the same beliefs about life. Consciousness is not from/in the brain. So, perhaps the wisdom that unfolds, is connected to where one is connecting to? (I am not very clear...) Yesterday, I drove far to sparsely populated area. The woods were surrounding the road (not asphalt) both sides. I found a spot. It was quiet. Just nature. I found myself very happy. Now, afterwards I know I was 100 per cent present in the now, but at the time it happened, I did not give it any thought. That was not in my mind obviously, because I was in the now. My nervous system was in the now. I did not want to leave. I started thinking that this is what it is like to be happy, I had forgotten. It is a state of being. So, perhaps this not being present has a lot to do with the human nervous system and the environment humans are living in. I bought long ago a book by Peter Wohlleben (translated to my language): Das Geheime Leben der Bäume. Wie sie fûhlen, wie sie kommunizieren - die Entdeckung einer verborgener Welt (2015). What Wohlleben writes, is it something totally surprising? Or something one already knew? From interbeing. I have not read the book yet. Time will come. Sorry, Einzelgänger, for the long comment. You are welcome to delete it once you´ve read it. I think long comments aren´t generally welcomed. Take care, Friend. God bless you. Greetings, Jane

TRUE FORM IS FORMLESS This universal principle applies to everything in existence. The purest action is action by it self. The moment we define a purpose, goal, expectation to the action, it is corrupted. We define people by race, culture, tradition ect only to corrupt our own perspective. Everything in its own nature is formless, it simply is. In that sense trying to be good and defining your actions as good also corrupts you as you start to expect the same from others, or your ''Good Deeds'' lead to something ''Bad'' as every action is a eternal train of cause and effect turning left and right in to the unknown future.
Whenever I don't try or practice, majority of the time I do good job. However, whenever I try, majority of the time I did a bad job. After seeing this video, I realized that.

I can re-phrase the video. "Just enjoy the process". It may be a bad example, but i've tested this in a game and it worked perfectly. When I was trying to achieve "score" or "leaderboard position" - i just couldn't make it, like at all, and the fun thing is, it seemed that i was getting farther and farther away from my "goal". But when i decided to let it flow the natural way, without worrying of anything, it went thousand times better as i wasn't focusing on anything and didn't try to get "something" so badly. So i understood, that nothing works better than enjoying the process, being in it and letting yourself become one whole with it
That's called "choking." This philosophy flies in the face of conventional western mental game for success of "wanting it more than your competitor." I subscribe to the non-competitive performance. I think competition brings out the worst in a person and the overall performances.
Summary of this video after watching full video "Do work for the sake of work, not for its result". It is written in "Bhagavad Gita". Do the work, don't desire the fruit. Now I understand the connection of all this. Because thinking about the result makes us worry.

All of your videos are so enlightening, Iam a pretty anxious person, I overthink every aspect of my life and it's been blocking me, thank you for sharing your knowledge
Bhagavad Gita 2.47: You have a right to perform your prescribed duties, but you are not entitled to the fruits of your actions. Never consider yourself to be the cause of the results of your activities, nor be attached to inaction. This is indeed the essence of the Gita’s teachings.
For most people, the future will be the same as the present, that is, hard work with little reward, failure, misery, and ultimately death. The carrot on the stick becomes the focus of people's lives. While trying to get the carrot, life slips away.
Thank you once again for a brillant video! I fully agree with you, as a professional musician "simply" performing in the "here and now" is not always so obvious.
Winning without trying is just a word play. Everybody have a will to do things that they are focused on. More or less will that only yourself knows. One who doesn't give up on things is eventually winning. The one who is quitters would never win.
I think you are missing the point of this video. Winning without trying isn't just word play. It is a state of mind. I have playing basketball with my friends for fun and I was scoring jump shots like no tomorrow (winning without trying). Then when I played for my highschool team, my coach stressed us on trying winning at all cost. I missed 50% of my jump shots being pressured and not having fun ( winning with trying.) U catch my drift?
"Do not try, do or do not do." Trying is not doing. Just do it. You only fail if you do nothing. Loosing one game doesn't make you a looser. There are always more games. Learn from the lose and do better. Winners are not born, they are self made.
Thinking is Seperation, Doing is Intergration. The mind is destruction (thought) in creation. While the heart is creation in destruction (time). All acts are lead by thinking about them or by simply doing them. Winning/Thinking that winning is good, is a rational prize of the mind. Being one with your actions is the rational prize of the heart.

You have to understand a simple thing, that giving attention is giving nourishment. If you don’t give any attention but remain unconcerned, the thoughts start dying on their own. They don’t have any other way to get energy, any other source of life. You are their energy, and because you go on giving them attention, seriously, you think it is very difficult to be free from thought.

Practice "Free yourself from the mind" : Silence/meditation helps to bring us to the deeper dimension within each of us to see that thought/emotion is just a thought/emotion without giving further meaning to it.

With this video my respect to people who still do it even if they worry to much is goes skyrocket. The reason is, these people despite having worries about "What if" they still do it and that is called courage.
I recall being in my first class in my MBA program. I was chosen by my group to present our theory about the case we had been given. Though I had worried about the presentation, I was delayed by a car accident that had ruined my car. There was so much adrenaline that had gone through my system, that I was completely relaxed when I gave the presentation. I was able to give a great presentation though late for class because I was SO relaxed! Thus I no longer worried about the situation.

TRUE FORM IS FORMLESS
This universal principle applies to everything in existence.

I just wish that I could have watched your videos when I was in my teenage. I think I would have improved a lot and be able to achieve success.
I felt into the traps of anxiety, which now I realised, Should Just had to be ignored.
"Do not try, do or do not do." Trying is not doing. Just do it. You only fail if you do nothing. Loosing one game doesn't make you a looser. There are always more games. Learn from the lose and do better. Winners are not born, they are self made.
Shia was right all along when he said “just do it”.
Emphasis on “just”
Thinking is Seperation,
Doing is Intergration.
The mind is destruction (thought) in creation.
While the heart is creation in destruction (time).
All acts are lead by thinking about them or by simply doing them.
Winning/Thinking that winning is good, is a rational prize of the mind. Being one with your actions is the rational prize of the heart.
Thank you for sharing..🙂👍!!! Insightful video, mate!! Keep going,...
