    A tree as great as a man's embrace springs up from a small shoot;
    A terrace nine stories high begins with a pile of earth;

    There are a lot of similarities with Buddhism! The gentle art of letting go of control is essential. Every seasoned meditator (that also tries to achieve insight) will notice at some point, that the amount of control we actually have is tiny and at best an illusion. Knowing that, we can redirect mental resources to the things that are really important!

    I went on a Sundo retreat in Romania with Master Kim who was teaching Lao Tzu's teaching. Sundo is an anxient Taoist way of living and being. I find the whole subject facinating and have trained to be a Dahn Master under Ilchi Lee's Brain Education System. I have started teaching this in my local area and now have to do this online. It seems to resonate with people more now as we are living in a society that is becoming oblivious to common sense. The ones who are waking up to this seem to be embracing these thoughts and philosophies with open hearts. It certain is an interesting time to be alive, and using your energy, rather than force, you can actually ahchieve the life you want. Not using force and allowing things to be is the key. Also becoming the energy that you want to be, which if it forceful in any way, will be hard work. If it is natural and caring, it will be successful. Always a great watch. Thanks for sharing. :)

    These five points are so important to live a happy life. Actually without having read anything about Taoism before, I am naturally living according to these principles and I can only recommend it to everybody. I am leading a simple life in which I don’t want to become a slave of my possessions. And I always trust the universe because deep down in my soul I have an intuition which guides me through life without forcing things. With this natural mentality I have found my soulmate in life, he is my great love and I’m so happy about it. ❣️

    All I know is sometimes people's have a path that causes different effects from people you come across you to treat you in a way they never treat people because the path you have can change people to break free from the programming. And no matter how good you are to other or how positive you are won't matter. I spent my life pleasing and helping other and today not one person today has helped me. Not even letting me shower or inviting me over for a hit meal. I live in my car and those two things would mean the world to me. No one checks on me or anything. But I will never become negative or treat others badly. I will stay positive and keep my head up because my environment and the people in it aren't who I am and don't control me. It's been rough but I know that the end result is what I focus on nor money or success in this world but ending the cycling back is what is important to me.

    The fact that Taoism drives me nucking futs is proof enough that the path offered by this perspective is painfully truthful. The constant contradicting ironies expressed by Taoism frustrate me so much because I know they mirror the universe our spirits currently occupy. My dear Uncle Dave used to loosely paraphrase Lao Tzu often to help me out with my biggest problem... myself. He would say things like, "Those who say don't know. Those who know don't say." Or "Untangle the knot and soften your glare, darkly visible, it's as if it were there." Talk about being intrigued and frustrated at the same time! Taoism requires the ability to surrender without compromise and so much more. I'm just an old ding dong but I want to thank you and the people who wrote marvelous comments below. I didn't see arrogance or cleverness but rather understanding and empathy. That's the way. All the best.

    A friend of mine who was a project manager told me once that he had experienced a phenomenon he couldn't understand not once but on many occasions over the decades. He said when a project was facing critical challenges frighting deadline for completion, no matter how hard he tried to control and manage it, problems never end, over and over again popped up. Once he fell sick for more than a week, when he returned the biggest problems he been facing in the project were all resolved or almost overcome.
    On other occasion his close relative pass away was forced to take leaves and another was his prebooked air travel holidays could not be postponed without losing all his money. Hence Lao Tzu's brilliant teaching really works. Thank you for your sharing.

    The final lesson really shows a lot to one of y currently situations. With my truck I often drive not reckless, but more or less fearless. The things I’ve done are stupid, but fun. Soon enough though things will happen. We recently got around 8” of snow and I plowed into a sign. If I am always afraid of hitting something, I will never have fun. I still wear my seatbelt, but I still go out and have fun. Along with that, my time learning to control my truck while not in complete control has helped me as I could’ve gone for a bank of rocks, or I could of gone for a sign. Being reckless taught me to control when I normally wouldn’t have control. Am I mad I hit a sign and hurt my truck; yes. But I can fix it. So why worry so much?

    How will we comprehend his wisdom if you don't study it with the heart ? But with you intellectuality... These are really deep spiritual advices !! Not to be applied in our fictional life of materialism !!
    Oh I know he would have smiled down at us on how confused and asleep we are.

    One proof of the truth of these things is the fact that so many Masters have made the same points, even though they spoke different languages, etc. Timeless truths that will be just as important 1000 yrs from now because man has the same problems. Can you enjoy without clinging? Yes, because it is a movie playing on a screen...a make belief that lasts an hour or 2... maya. Thanks for this.

    Interestingly, a year ago I would scream here how easy it is to make a video about it that sounds nice but try to live a life I am living and apply it. But today I feel like this is a relieve to just let go and let the world to live on its own. But the difference is that I have changed my situation so I became more free and happy so I am becoming more able to engage in 'letting go'. But I understood that if you want to be able to let go, leave the stressful life. Give up on effords that cause you to live in stress. It is better to not have as to have in exoense of the inner peace.

    Here is how to imagine you're own non-existence: "Everyone is "I" to themselves" - Alan Watts
    As long as there's new organisms born in the universe after you cease to exist, then death will always be followed by a new "I". The "I" of one of those new brains.
