Alternative, use idea 2, but add 8 pieces of talking half-length straight track and 1 full piece of normal track (or perhaps another 2 pieces of talking track) so the engines start speaking each time they enter and leave the platform. Plus, that would let you stop slightly longer trains at the platform. Right now there is only room for a tank engine or diesel with a single coach... or a tender engine with no coaches... to stop at the platform, which is less than optimal in an era where each engine you buy going forward comes with two pieces of rolling stock (or one piece of rolling stock and a tender). This way, the new set owner won't need to find more pieces of track to stop the Gordon train pack they got for Christmas at the station platform without fouling the switches, and if they want to run trains that are one unit longer (Say, James pulling Annie and Clarabel in proxy of the orange Old Coaches from the story about the bootlace), they can move the half-straights from one side of the platform to the other and just run all the longer trains the same direction (And perhaps suffer talking James cutting himself off in mid-sentence). Using 10 pieces of half track instead of 8 pieces of half track and a whole piece would also mean the engines are talking out in the countryside, filling in the empty side of the loop with sound instead of trees, destinations, or irregularities in the track layout (And perhaps the engines are talking to the signalman on duty in the one distraction currently placed along that otherwise bland section of track).
@@MTI_thomas on an unrelated tone. You know how there are express carriages for these plarail/Tomy set yea? I am quite sad how there’s just no brake coach variant at all. As I am a huge fan of the express coaching stock and I am mad that there isn’t a brake coach variant of the express coaches.
I once built a Tomy version of the rare wooden Percy takes the plunge set. That might be a thought! Then again, I’m not sure what the House, danger sign, STH figure would be replaced by. The Sodor tugboat could probably be replaced by bulstrode.
Your videos made me think of my own custom TOMY set based off the Episode “Old Iron.” The set is a dual track loop with the 1 section of the TOMY Knapford station included. Knapford could represent the 3 stations in the episode(Wellsworth, Knapford, and Crosby). On the other side of the loop is a small section representing Knapford Yards. The yards would have a siding on both lines with a stop track in both for the engine to stop in. as well as a dual switch track connecting the 2 lines. The set would include Edward and James as well as a red and green express coach respectively to recreate the opening scene at Wellsworth. There’s also some signals and a signal box to recreate the “All traffic haunted!” scene, as well as a couple trees to fill the empty space. What do you think?
here is a play set suggestion. name: gordon and the mechanic/engineer and it’s based of the episode of the same name. it comes with gordon donald douglas two express coaches three stations one signal box figurines of the station master mechanic/engineer and carpenter. IDK what the layout would look like.
You know even though I know that your being more accurate to the set I still would have tried to add some more accessories (and specially) rolling stock to the deal just to make it more fun Alongside with an extension pack that maybe could give us even more rolling stock and enough tracks to make 3 sidings with buffers
@@MTI_thomas okay so here's a suggestion How about for your next set the lift and load set I mean in my opinion it's kind of one of the best and having the engines moving around would really improve it I'm not sure what you will do but the set is really fun
Technically it's not the full set. Knapford is actually 6 tracks not 4 with the 6th most outer track (often seen from the front on the far left with Gordon and the express on platform 1 on the far right) being a passing/freight track. From tracks 1-6 starting from right to left and going Express to Freight pass, they are as follows: 1-2 used for express and express goods or connecting stops. 3-4 are used specifically for local trains/goods and platform 5 is used to accommodate extra passengers or offloading other items with the furthest track next to it being 6 with no platform to allow trains to pass through the busy station and be on their way if the other 3 lines are occupied. I say 3, because the 2 middle tracks don't actually go through the entire station, they stop right near the end for a platform that wraps around them similar to the station we see in "A Better View for Gordon" where there's a set of buffers and a walkway behind them. So if you want a truly accurate Knapford station, you need 6 tracks, 5 at a platform, and 2 in the middle that end in buffers. But in all honesty, that'd be the most expensive Thomas set in ANY medium given how many tracks there are.
Random story for no reason: I made a big mistake once when I was like 10. My brother at the time was around 2 or so, walking around the house just being himself and I had already been a mixed bag with him, both loving and hating him at various moments, as an older sibling tends to do with a whiny mess of a brother. However, during a day when I was already in a bad mood after being horribly picked on at school, I came back and was storming around the house when my brother came in to check on me and stepped on one of my Tomy trains. Specifically the remote control Thomas, which at the time was my favorite because it was the only train I could reverse without manually touching it. After he stepped on it he cried and wailed like someone had stabbed him and in a fit of rage I grabbed the train and ripped it straight in half at the coupling, snapping both wires and the plastic/rubber connector piece with minimal effort before I chucked it into the trash. My mom was upset at why I did it but dumb-ass 10 year old me justified it as "it hurt my brother" and we left it at that. I never got a replacement because they didn't make any more and I still have the useless remote for it. Side note: Either Tomy was very poor in their quality control/durability testing, or they failed to account for a 10 year olds adrenaline fueled rage into their product testing, because that thing snapped in half so easily it actually surprised my mom. To this day I think she was more scared that I was strong enough to snap off a solid piece of sturdy rubber and 2 thick electrical wires with my bare hands then by the act of the toy being ruined.
it does in the show, but the standard Tomy release only features four. Granted, you can connect 6 of the halves together for the ultimate Knapford, but that's expensive lol
If/whenever I get some Talking Tomy engines, I'll make a follow up video for this one! Seems a lot of people want to see that.
For some reason it hits hard when he says don’t be a stinker
Nice set, I like the more realistic take on the train sets provided.
I wonder if that set existed, we’d get an exclusive release for a Talk n Action Gordon! He fits in with Knapford perfectly!
that's an interesting idea
Nice I agree about Knapford being the best destination
Once again, conversion is nice!
This would've been such a cool set
YESSSSSSSS COME ON 1K MATE YOUR GONNA BE BIG IK IT .GREAT VID😊

Honestly what’s lacking is for anything for the engines to pull.
yeah definitely. I think moving forward with these, I'll give everyone included rolling stock even if the original doesn't feature any

Very nice if we had a yard set with trucks and coaches that could connect to this, it would be a perfect starter set.
Cool set

Well, think about the origianal TWR setup, it could still very welll play out as RWS Tidmouth

I wonder if you'll maybe update the set once you maybe get your hands on the talk and Action Thomas trains
I don't have any plans to get them right now, but we'll see what happens. I might do an update video if I do get them at some point
I would like to the lift and load set from the clickety clack track era set in Tomy?

only make content you want to make

It would be more complete if the talk n action trains were used instead of the regular Plarail models
I would have if I had them. Seems like a lot of people want to see that. might do a remake of this in the future
