This is amazing video ! i just ordered this Pearl Flexi OC, and cant wait to get it. I am an absolute beginner , never used safety razers before. So far i ordered, and i think im set with razors for now: 1. Merkur 34C - mild razor for everyday 2. RazoRock BBS AS - more towards aggresive for when i dont shave in a few days 3. and finally this adjustable Pearl Flexi OC 100 Feather blades 100 Personna Platinum Still, never in my life have i ever used a safety razor yet. I am just waiting for these things to arrive. Wish me luck guys !
Got any skin left on your face? Lol. How did the Merkur 34C compare to the Pearl Flexi in agressiveness? I'm kinda wary of the open comb on the Flexi but I really love how the handle looks.
Lol.. Pearl Flexi is WAY more aggressive than 34C. Honestly not my favorite razor. I dont use the pearl Flexi that much. I either go for 34C or Henson AL13 mild.@@eddtru
Great video Mark, but my experience was much different than yours. As always YMMV as we all know. I shave with a MUHLE R41 frequently and have no problem with the aggression always getting BBS. However, the pearl flexi open comb is EXTREMELY aggressive, but it also left hair behind in spots. Basically, something wasn't right about the alignment of this razor and it gave me an uneven shave. I've never had a worse shave, buyer beware !

@MarkSzorady, as usual, another great detailed educational breakdown of wet shaving products. That razor and blade combo looks like a fun shave. I like how the razor and blades are in a nice box presentation.
Hi Mark- Great shave and razor review; thank you! Beautiful razor and a very nice presentation on your part. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend 🇺🇸! Best regards, as always!
when I look in the open comb head I'm little sкeptical for the smoothness because those combs look like have sharp angles .... I had bad expеrience with Blackbird open comb
Hello Mark, that PEARL OC razor looks wonderful! I currently own the Viking Emperor and thanks to your recommendation. I use it on setting 6, but I found no difference on shaving with it on either side. So I decided to look for open comb adjustable as I love them. I couldn't find any adjustable OC razor until I saw your video. I noticed while you were shaving after the first pass, the Pearl OC didnt leave trace of lather that is common with other OC razor so it allows for going over thensame spot if needed. Didn't I notice that properly? Also are there any good adjustable butterfly OC out there ? I revently bought the. Razorock SLOC and it is not doing it for me spbI am going to give it away sometime toa friend. Thanks great review as usual.
Another informative review, Mark. With all the adjustable safety razors you have reviewed and used, which one (or ones) would you recommend for the average shaver...factoring in quality, cost, and performance? For example, the Rex Konsul costs $349 while the Pearl Flexi (standard or open comb) costs $69. I would assume both will give a great shave once the proper settings are established.
Bart, thanks. If price is a consideration, then the Pearl Flexi (straight bar or OC depending on preference), Vikings Blade Emperor (Meiji and Crusader) razors, and Parker Variant are among the ones I would recommend to any wet shaver. Nice price points, good build, and good performance. I'd also include the Phoenix Shaving Ascension Select DOC Twist Adjustable even though it's a non-traditional adjustable razor. Another non-traditional adjustable razor is the Rockwell 6C. it doesn't adjust per se, but allows you to change up the aggression of the razor.
@@MarkSzorady I agree that the modestly priced adjustables give just as good of a shave. I have the Rex Ambassador and for me, it doesn't compare to my Rockwell 6S. At settings above 3, the RA is just as aggressive as my R41. I'd say of all my truly adjustables the Emperor is my favorite. But I've realized over time that I don't need the benefits of an adjustable. As a daily driver, the 6S R4/R2 plate always gives me a BBS shave. But like you say, it's nice to have so many choices. And I'm sure the safety razor companies take advantage of that 😊
2:07 OMG, you’ve startled me with this sound effect lol. Great shave.

I am glad you enjoyed your shave and didn't cut your throat:). Thanks for all you do for us wet shavers.
Wally, thank you again very much!
Funny when you say : this is really plowing through this beard growth. That`s not beard growth it`s a smooth babyface you show us.

Wow! That razor looks like it could demolish a building.
It has a bit of growl versus the straight bar version. I'll simply dial it down just a tad.:)
Hi Mark, that was a great shave with a really nice razor. Love that Simpsons shaving brush.
take care Mark.

Thanks for the review Mark!! It would be interesting to see how it works with an Astra or Persona blade.
Great video As Always - I see myself ordering this razor in the very near future 😂👍- Have a Good Memorial Weekend !!
Thanks, James. Let us know how you like it when you do get it.

Could any viewers with the knowledge say what about a razor such as Mr. Szorady uses here makes it both smooth and efficient at the same time?
top razor review !! cool razor👍have a great weekend😃
Thanks, Razor Michl, you too!:)

Does it “click” or is it continuous adjustment? It is a good looking razor.
Charles, it's smooth and continuous. No clicking.
