You realize when you're really in it, that anyone who is a great salesman isn't the same as someone people like and want to hang out with. A lot of people make the mistake thinking that because they have a lot of friends or are funny that they can make it, but the ones who dominate in sales are really just pushy and couldn't care less about the customer, you have to be in it to see it.
Define what you mean by "pushy" & "couldn't care less," because all the serious sales jobs I've had actually showed me the opposite of what you said. Now i will say, ive seen the pushy, fast-talking salesmen dominate sometimes, but only in industries where they deal with alot of gullible, weak clients. But if we're talking about an industry where the clients are high-level, serious, & educated, that "pushiness" doesn't work alot of times, because it comes off as desperate, and thus, low-value. I cant tell you how many times I've seen pushy salesmen lose sales because they were too pushy. Key words here: I became a sales man because I had KNACK for it. Not everyone can do sales. If you like arguing or can hold your own in a heated conversation, go for it. I've worked a few sales jobs and let me tell you I'm too empathetic and non confrontational for sales.
Hey anthony! I respectfully disagree with you. Being empathetic and non confrontational can actually help you with sales! We live in a cold world where people don't have enough empathy to get into the mind of the consumer and understand how their product or service can add value to the consumer's life, which is a VERY valuable trait. I guess everyone has their own way of doing things!
Empathy & non-confrontation are actually the top traits you need to be a TRULY successful salesman. If a company has its salesperson constantly arguing with customers , then chances are, the company engages in unethical practices, and/or the product/service that they're selling is actually low-value & defective, leaving salesmen to have to do/say alot of "questionable" things to make up for it, and this sets customers off. Prime examples of companies that do this: LA Fitness, and Yelp (ask me how I know...) On the flip side, for all my best sales jobs, I hardly ever had to argue; selling at these places was usually a straightforward, pleasant experience where I simply clarified specifics about the product/service, and steered clients in the right direction. That's why, whenever I look for sales jobs, I research the product first; I want to make sure I'm not selling some half-assed scam that's gonna leave customers angry. have my interview today for my first sales job and this video made me motivated and passionate about getting the job. i have been a warehouse worker for a very long time now and ive come to the realisation that i cant progress in the job no matter how good or bad i am at the job and no matter how much value i bring to the company i still get paid and treated the same (shit). you have made me realise that sales is the right place for me and i would do anything to get the job. i had a similar childhood and starting jobs as you so this was very relevant for me
I remember seeing your live videos on TikTok randomly i was like “how tf did this guy get into this” It’s cool to see you show up on my feed again bro. This video gave a lot of insight and motivation, esp me being in gym sales as well
Im in the construction industry, worked my way from working in the field to end up in estimator/pm position, the sales/business game is rigged to profit and strive off building strong relationships with people
I’ve had to sell things in my home to keep going in sales because I know the value & opportunities it can unfold. Was about to quit but I keep hanging on because I just know ! I appreciate you for making this, I needed it brother
bro solar sales is the move right now,Look to work in a field that has PPA options and that just sales itselfs.especially in times like this where inflation is squezing people and things are so expensive, commisions are 3-15k per deal just for setters because you have to split your deal 50/50 with a closer, once you start closing your own deals, you keep 100% commisions
i just started doing this, never worked sales before, use to be a chef,so i have the grit to work hard, and ive made 35k in 3 months.not even working 40 hours a week look into it bro,i can tell already you would kill
I started off in gym sales when I was 22 for LA Fitness. It was a great introduction to sales and with the right team it’s a lot of fun. Two years later I moved on to car sales and that was a whole other beast. The money can be good but only for some people will the money be worth the stress and the 12 hr day. Im now at a large furniture retailer selling adult furniture, where it can be just as lucrative as the car business and just as fun and easy going as gym sales. Definitely recommend gym sales to start out and learn the trade, and furniture sales for uncapped commissions in a relatively low stress and consistent industry.
Your boss was cool with you because if you reported him, he would go to jail and have to pay you back the commissions. You could’ve thrown the experience on a resume and taken a bunch of shots at different sales jobs, and one would’ve landed. Most sales employers don’t care about skills or experience because it’s mainly a numbers game
I definitely think it does change your life, however it’s a cut throat world. Everyone is always on your neck to make the sales. If you go through all that stress you might as well use the same techniques you learned to start some type of business. If you get stress might as well get the stress from making yourself wealthy.
I actually want to do real estate and do high sells. I have zero experience. this is big inspiration. And I'm trying to open my own gym some day. Hopefully in the future I'm in a possession where im able to work with people like you .
I haven't even watched this yet, but I'm telling you. You should say this to my employees/candidates. Lmao. FAX. Sales is THE key. No ifs or buts. PERIOD. Point blank.
You should make more videos on sales. I’d definitely love to learn more from you. Not to be telling you what to do with your channel or anything but this video was *chefs kiss* I’m a realtor and I didn’t start at sales at the gym but worked at the gym when I was younger so I know what you mean about the environment. I have a lot of qualities about me that stand out but I just don’t know how to make them work for me in real estate.
It's not for everyone, and I can say it wasn't for me at all. I was actually a very good salesman and made the most money I've ever made. Just couldn't get used to all the rejection.
I've been in sales for over 3 years and have been looking for one for more than a month now. I've had plenty of interviews but competition right now is high...
Yah this didn't sell me at all but it's cool to hear you found a way to get out of the military successful and not end up with a dishonorable discharge. I got out by medical reasons.
im 20 and i got a interview tomorrow for a door to door salesman something completely different from what im used too and not coincidently i came across this video this might be a sign
Sales jobs are a GREAT way to go. But, let's be honest... it's not for everyone. That said, it can pay BANK. An amazing sales job is Home Improvement sales. It's amazing for those who love design and home style. If you love the HGTV channel this is the industry for you. lol. Most sales reps in my industry/area earn a solid $150K/year their first year. And that's with ZERO experience! Usually by their 2nd year they easily hit $200K. Some reps are solidly in the $400K range, but that's not everyone... it does take working smart to get to that level. That said, no cubicles, no pounding the phones, just you and some homeowners working on cool upgrades for their home. Not a bad way to make a living. 😉👍
Give this man a Bells! Thompson, you're a stud dude, and as an experienced salesman, I can verify that everything this man is saying is FACTS! I've been doing sales for about 18 months, and it's been a transformational journey. I've built a stack of undeniable proof that I am who I say I am. I know how to prospect, present and close. I'm dead broke in the pocket, but wealthy in the mind. I want to make it in sales man. This is my gift - communication, interpersonal skills, sales, persuasion. I have to do it. Right now I'm in the best shape of my life, getting better everyday at sales and looking for work opportunities where I can sharpen my sales skills further and earn some money while I'm at it (to support my mom) Pray for me team, and if you know anyone hiring for remote sales (I'm in South Africa) I'd appreciate an introduction.
the thing about sales is it is soft skills anyone can and will replace you. How do you even justify what you do when you are just trying to close a deal.
Can you talking about when sales doesn't go well? What does it feel like to lose a sale? Awkward moments? How can you move past that and learn from failure?
From my personal experience, I had a pretty rough run sales I was selling $80,000 a month when my expectation was 100,000 per month so after four months and a minor lawsuit, they fired me for numbers. I took that and started my own landscape company where I’m basically just selling and all the sales skills paid off to really help my business.
Couldn’t agree more! Been in sales for 5 years. It taught me something I like to call “resourceful resilience” made a whole video about it on my channel. Wishing you much success with yours 🙏🏻

Ive been working a retail sales for for 3 years and i have learned so much. By far i have found the most important skills in life from sales, handling angry people(customers/descalation), persuasive skills, Charisma, and many sales tactics
Naa keep doing this. Many content creators can’t draw me in, but im literally playing your video at 6:30 am in my company truck after debating whether or not to quit this job. The only perk is sales opportunities, and ive made quite a few even on my days off. Saw this video, saved it to watch later. Here i am. clothing brand owner here🌎 feel u bro might start sales too!
I run a business. I think sales is the most purest form of business. Getting ppl to buy your shit is the only thing that matters.
have my interview today for my first sales job and this video made me motivated and passionate about getting the job. i have been a warehouse worker for a very long time now and ive come to the realisation that i cant progress in the job no matter how good or bad i am at the job and no matter how much value i bring to the company i still get paid and treated the same (shit). you have made me realise that sales is the right place for me and i would do anything to get the job. i had a similar childhood and starting jobs as you so this was very relevant for me
I worked in sales at a spa and got extra bonuses then got bullied by the others and quit. But I was the same I think I had a knack for it
I remember seeing your live videos on TikTok randomly i was like “how tf did this guy get into this”
It’s cool to see you show up on my feed again bro. This video gave a lot of insight and motivation, esp me being in gym sales as well
Honestly bro, I don't know how much gyms pay, but you sound like you'd do well in tech sales.
How do you get into tech sales? Can you apply with no experience in tech sales?
relatable, clear and precise thank you much appreciated brother god bless and definitely going to rewatch this a few times man, wow.
Bro this guy has great potential to be a salesman 😂
Love you said that about real estate. I just went for my license
Sales taught me so much about life.
Im in the construction industry, worked my way from working in the field to end up in estimator/pm position, the sales/business game is rigged to profit and strive off building strong relationships with people
Good to see the Homozi quotes spreading :D
I’ve had to sell things in my home to keep going in sales because I know the value & opportunities it can unfold. Was about to quit but I keep hanging on because I just know ! I appreciate you for making this, I needed it brother
bro solar sales is the move right now,Look to work in a field that has PPA options and that just sales itselfs.especially in times like this where inflation is squezing people and things are so expensive, commisions are 3-15k per deal just for setters because you have to split your deal 50/50 with a closer, once you start closing your own deals, you keep 100% commisions
i just started doing this, never worked sales before, use to be a chef,so i have the grit to work hard, and ive made 35k in 3 months.not even working 40 hours a week
look into it bro,i can tell already you would kill
@@haroldtapanes9023 hows the cycle? is it door to door sales or b2b? if it's door to door do you have a company car ? thanks !
thanks, you brighten my future.
Thank you for the video man
29:05 AYOOO C’MON MAN, I DIDN’T COME HERE TO CATCH STRAY BULLETS😂😂😂
Wow! Your voice is AMAZING‼️
Much appreciated Video Brotherman‼️
I definitely think it does change your life, however it’s a cut throat world. Everyone is always on your neck to make the sales. If you go through all that stress you might as well use the same techniques you learned to start some type of business. If you get stress might as well get the stress from making yourself wealthy.
definitely changed mine in many ways
I actually want to do real estate and do high sells. I have zero experience. this is big inspiration. And I'm trying to open my own gym some day. Hopefully in the future I'm in a possession where im able to work with people like you .
I love this dudes channel
bro this was such good story telling. Thanks for sharing
When he said “Adrian” Rocky’s scream came to mind because he also sounds like Sylvester Stallone lmao
I've been in sales for over 3 years and have been looking for one for more than a month now. I've had plenty of interviews but competition right now is high...
My life was in shambles until I got into sales 3 years ago. Now I’m making triple what I was, in management and I have direction in my lifr
Yah this didn't sell me at all but it's cool to hear you found a way to get out of the military successful and not end up with a dishonorable discharge. I got out by medical reasons.
im 20 and i got a interview tomorrow for a door to door salesman something completely different from what im used too and not coincidently i came across this video this might be a sign
how"d it go?
I’ve watched 10 seconds and this guy was breaded for sales with that voice
the i get the ruller then ducking equals learnig comes from that 1 and half video that hormozi did a couples of months ago
Sales changed my life and if I didn’t have that background, my business never would have blown up.
Love this bro. 💪
hey , I´m trying to get into sales any tipps ? Would really appreciate it
kind regards
I’ve always said I wanted to be in sales and to be a waitress to learn their skillls!
Fkn badass 😮💨😎 so many clever techniques and everything explained validly 👌
thank you for the valuable information.
Right now I'm in the best shape of my life, getting better everyday at sales and looking for work opportunities where I can sharpen my sales skills further and earn some money while I'm at it (to support my mom)
Pray for me team, and if you know anyone hiring for remote sales (I'm in South Africa) I'd appreciate an introduction.
You sound like Alex Hormozi
the thing about sales is it is soft skills anyone can and will replace you. How do you even justify what you do when you are just trying to close a deal.
I had to restart the video to make sure the audio was correct 😂
Can you talking about when sales doesn't go well? What does it feel like to lose a sale? Awkward moments? How can you move past that and learn from failure?
From my personal experience, I had a pretty rough run sales I was selling $80,000 a month when my expectation was 100,000 per month so after four months and a minor lawsuit, they fired me for numbers. I took that and started my own landscape company where I’m basically just selling and all the sales skills paid off to really help my business.
@@BonnieAndClydeAquaticswhat type of sales job did you have prior to opening your landscaping business?
Good lucking and good messsge 👍
Bro has the will of D.
I will trust his words
Listen to this man
Asian dude, tattoos, deep voice definitely kept me watching 🤣
It’s the white top 😅
this is not an excuse but the tone in your voice will make anyone wanna run through a brick wall .
Couldn’t agree more! Been in sales for 5 years. It taught me something I like to call “resourceful resilience” made a whole video about it on my channel. Wishing you much success with yours 🙏🏻
I will definitely look for your video to watch
Asian chad tyrone guy
Quit being weird bro
@@ConqueringWhatsMine cry about it
@@NostalgicRemedy seems like you got that covered buddy
@@ConqueringWhatsMine so tough over the internet, you wouldn't dare say it to my face lol
You have the kind of voice that is very inspiring and I could really see you really really becoming wealthy with with this🎉 because you have Authoritative voice
underrated
He sold me a notebook faster than light 😂, being confident and great shape with great skill is definitely selling
Just started the video but shout out to your manager for seeing something in you and doing something about it. Also, really good energy from you.
Yeah sales is great, but where do they make viets boys like this in Australia
Man great advice
Love your voice AHHH
Your storytelling abilities showcased in this video are quite attractive.
Bro sounds like a Middle Aged black man with a viet accent 😂🤣
Reminds me of my best friend’s uncle, the Hip Hop viet uncle 😂
Do you think it’s ok for gay Asian men to sound like black women? You’re ok with straight Asian men sounding like black men
He’s a Houston viet
Ive been working a retail sales for for 3 years and i have learned so much. By far i have found the most important skills in life from sales, handling angry people(customers/descalation), persuasive skills, Charisma, and many sales tactics
i'm listening you fine fine tho!. Sales is definitely where I feel the most adequate.
I agree
Naa keep doing this. Many content creators can’t draw me in, but im literally playing your video at 6:30 am in my company truck after debating whether or not to quit this job. The only perk is sales opportunities, and ive made quite a few even on my days off. Saw this video, saved it to watch later. Here i am. As a brown skinned male in America with an interest in sales, i can relate. INSTANT FOLLOW! If you don’t do coaching for sales, you should. I would definitely like to have you as my coach.
When you mention the idea when you have I mean power and you have power, they are feeding off of your power your ability that God gave you that’s the main key because they don’t want any kind of salesman. They see something different in you is your God ability.
We have the same gym sales background & story. Was my first sales job as well and I realized I have a knack for sales. Still trying to figure it out and make the big bucks but I’m on the right path. Great video!
Sales Jobs are the way to go they teach you so much. taking no's to the face gives you a lot of character.
