I worked at Kennywood as a ride op for 4 years when I was in highschool and early college. I can confirm it is an extremely mismanaged park. They go through park managers faster than the Browns go through GMs. They can’t retain employees because they give us 70 hour work weeks in the heat. Also I don’t think Pat has been to Kennywood since the 90s 😂😂😂 Phantom hasn’t had inversions since before I was born. He doesn’t even know Pitt fall has been gone for 12 years 😂😂😂.
@@softjones3128 I made 11 an hour my first 2 years and 13 as a supervisor for the last 2 years. I wasn’t complaining about the money but 10 am to 10 pm, six days a week, all summer when it’s 90 degrees and humid most days is not a fun time for anyone involved. Really ate up my summers.
Grew up in the Burgh and went to Kennywood for our school picnic every year. Worked there in the summer of '90 and '91 and met my eventual wife, who also worked there. Kennywood will always hold a special place in my heart.
Unfortunately it's not the same ever since palace entertainment purchased it. It's been extremely mismanaged and it's in really bad shape right now. $10 for a game?! $75 admission price?! It's a shame
Pat keeps calling it Steel Phantom and thinking the loops are still there, when it changed to Phantoms Revenge and took out the loops over 20 years ago, then his backup was the Pitt Fall which got taken out almost 15 years ago
This is the news reporting I needed today. Can confirm Kennywood is iconic in Pittsburgh. It embodies the city well - kinda dirty, kinda small, but also pretty awesome.
People have no idea whats under their house, in their foundation and behind your drywall. Your house was built by 14 crackheads and a 65 year old guy who wanted to quit every single day of the job 😂
Knoebels Grove in Elysburg , PA is the one of best family amusement parks in the country. Free parking, free admission, family owned , lots of trees for shade and not a lot of pavement. One of the best wooden roller coasters in the country in the Phoenix . Give it a shot Pat . WWE hall of Famer Mick Foley loves it and has been known to visit there .
I remember way back when- i went to kings island, i was waiting in line for "The Son of Beast" (wooden roller-coaster with a loop), i happened to look down and noticed one of the beams were fixed with what looked like 5 rolls of duck tape. Never been so pumped to ride that thing
Been to a ton of amusement parks in my life and something about Kennywood just makes it feel different park just has that classic feeling to it would go back a million times
Imagine if this amusement park has the most amount of roller coasters, arcade games, concession stands, and race tracks ever seen at an amusement park in our country!
The Jack Rabbit doesn’t jump the tracks. What that part of the ride is known as is a Double Dip/Double Down. It’s where you drop, briefly level off then immediately drop again. It literally causes sustained air time but the car never leaves the track
I grew up in the West Mifflin/Duquesne area long ago, and went to kennywood pretty often...it was FREE to get in and walk around...ridiculous prices today...I went a couple years ago to my Daughters Company Picnic(free), and will never go back...
Kennywood is an expirience every kid from Western Pennsylvnia can look back on and grimice. Was it a good time? I don't know, but it sure does beat the 7th period biloogy exam that was originally scheduled for that day.
THANK YEW guys for somehow making this off season bearable😂 We're almost there!!! As an Ohioan, this is about the only thing we have to be smug about - always killin it in the theme park game!
As someone who has been to both Kennywood and Cedar Point multiple times, Millennium Force eats Phantoms Revenge’s lunch. Phantom would barely crack the top 5 if it was at Cedar Point.
@wickedsickfunkyfreshroller2037 I had an account up the street from Knoebels called Toy Factory where they popped plastic with steam to make toy stuffing. Legitimately the weirdest spot I had the pleasure of going to. I did like the drive up though, very nice countryside.
Not Pat dropping the Fedko Zone!!! I loved watched all the high-school football highlights every Saturday morning! Also the Thunderbolt messed my back up for life lmaoo
Ah my dad used to work there in the 70s and always told me about how people would jump from car to car back when. Someone got injured and that is the reason there is that “DO NOT STAND” sign
I feel like this is definitely giving Kennywood a far worse wrap than it deserves. The old history and traditions of the park are awesome. The fact you can ride wooden coasters that are approaching 100 years old, then go on more modern rides like the Steel Curtain, Black Widow, Exterminator, Arrow 360, Swing Shot etc. is so interesting to me
One of the problems with kennywood is the prices are way to high. Plus they need to hire more people. No employee should work more than 40 hours a week on rides.
Cedar Point would be #1 if not for the long ass lines. 26 coasters but unless you're spending like $200/person, you won't have time to ride half of them in the 2 hour lines
I love how its just worse and worse 🤣🤣🤣 Log jammer gone, no more Steel Phantom loop, Pitfall killed people and was demolished. So many great memories in this crappy and apparently dangerous park for me lmao
Kennywood is a great park, it is a classic park, the problem with it is that the management doesn’t know how to operate it. Palace entertainment sucks, but it’s a non structural support
Steel Phantom is in part gone. They kept the lift hill, drop, and second hill. They flattened the inversions and transformed the rest of the ride. It’s a very good coaster
The only amusement park I've been to and I loved it, Phantoms Revenge was new back then, wifey and I were recently married. We need to get back with the kids!
Oh my god I'm laughing so hard because I live in Pittsburgh, I've had a season pass the last 2 years for the heck of it, and almost ALL of the rides they're mentioning DONT EXIST ANYMORE ahahaha. The new Steel Curtain is a fantastic coaster, but for some reason, it's NEVER open.
Pat's living heavily in the nostalgia of old Kennywood when he was a kid for sure lol. Ever since it got sold to that Spanish firm in like 07/08 it has slowly gone downhill while they jack the prices up making it not really worth it anymore. Though Sandcastle has had a bit of a resurgence. Don't even need a tetanus shot to go to Sandcastle anymore it's nice.
As a Wash High and Pitt grad who took a vacation to Kings Island for a week every year my entire life, this video made my face hurt from laughing!!!…( I love Kennywood…. But then I imagined someone gifting me a 7 day pass there, and I laughed even harder!)
A field trip to Kennywood is a must for the show. Would be unmatched content
Replying in the hope it increases the chance the boys see this. This is for sure a must.
I saw the thumbnail and thought this was going to be a video like that 😂
Best idea ever
agreed
They got to wait until the Steel Curtain re-opens though. I believe that will not be until next year.
This is the off season toxicity I look forward to.

The original Steel Phantom had inversions but they were taken out when the coaster was rebuilt in 2001. Its now a much more enjoyable ride.
