- A New MV-9000 May Not Happen But I Hope it does. Roland needs a win with a computer software that will work on a MAC or PC. Here in this video I just look back and wonder if Roland is ever going to do what Native Instruments and AKAI did.

Roland Mv8800 was Ahead of its time and I still think it’s better than the mpc today
Great video’s. I did own a MPC4000hd and a MV8800 in those days. I think you’re missing a point. I think Akai didn’t give the MPC to much possibilities because they also had the DPS series. Like the DPS 12 / 16 / 24 and the DR 4 / 8 / 16.
The DPS24 had a lot similarities with the MPC4000. Together they were perfect. But the MV had a lot on it’s self. But still a lot of people didn’t go for the MV. But in those days Akai had also a ruff time. A lot of people did go for music in the box. The computer change a lot those time. I was a Akai tester for Akai Netherlands. And i was testing a Akai VST S8 sampler. But Akai was to afraid to bring it to market.
I have mine, and the MPC X , Push 2, Machine Studio, and the MV still compete on the same level today! Im glad I have them all. I'm not a fan of stand-alone. I do nothing without my PC! No telling what Roland will do.

Aside from how weirdly massive it is, love my MV8800....really wish Roland would revisit the idea - but as much as I respect Roland,their recent history of almost completely ignoring what people want ...nope can’t see a proper updated stand alone MV ever happening 😢
I was really hoping for a new MV coming from the 1200 than the 3000 over to the MV was a game changer for me until my boy who works for one of the big music equipment chain stores put me onto machine back in 09 was rocking with Maschine since then until I copped maschine plus which for me is the closet thing to a MV upgrade .
Update returned maschine plus last friday joint was crashing worse than the house market in 2008 so I ended up copping a MPC LIVE 2 Retro way better workflow and no issues .
After the MPC5000 was a flop when AKAI introduced it in 2008 at the Namm show they had to go back to fix the software then at the 2009 Namm show AKAI had a fix but it was to late Native Instruments introduced MASCHINE at the same show.
@@SampleKingsVideos Maschine is still one of dopest products to drop i just hope they get the bugs out Maschine Plus cause I was really liking it minus all the freezing and crashing if they drop a MK2 version with issues im down . The MPC is low key giving me we bought to hurt the game vibes .
We feel you Dr.D I wish they take another stab at it too.The DAWs aren't even gonna look the same in a minute.Every ones seems to be gravitating towards the Abelton tactile loop base production style these days.

Please I leave in Brooklyn and need to repair my MV8800 because some of the bottoms are not responding. The machine was hardly used I believe is sitting too long and it may be a moisture issue. Does anyone know of a repair shop in the New York area that can repair this machine please help.

Mpc stuff has the parts
Roland acting Slow…Why would you completely Move away from a direction that the industry ended up going just because you were ahead of your time and the initial Machines didn’t sell as much. Get back into the game. A new MV-8000 series machine should e on par with the Mpc x and Mpc 61. Get back into the game

they are out of touch for years now, releasing crap over crap. people are screaming for another 808/909 for decades, roland lets behringer and other make all the money

It won't happen because of the times vs the 2000s.When you got Beatmaker 3 App on Ipads the new generation beat makers not going back to hardware .

Not gonna say standalone is better or worse than with pc and DAW but I think you're over-simplifying things a bit. There are plenty of younger people switching from computers to standalone hardware, more often than not they're integrating it into their PC setups. Some young people actually wanna disconnect from the matrix. I think the lack of an mv9000 is more of a corporate thing with Roland more than anything. People gotta remember that the mv8000/8800 to MPCs was like Vestax to Technics with turntables, only a small number of people preached the gospel on them but most people were just using an MPC with ADAT machines and Pro Tools later.
Besides which, there are a shitload of people doing entire tapes in the new MPCs, which is insane.
I just got the mv 8000 im falling in love with old gear.
