- The wheels and tires are mounted and installed. Our friend Carlos did an excellent job performing the tire swap with no issues.
The new Wheels look and fit amazing. I will report in future episodes how they do long term. They quality is great.
We have been working with MITA and excited to bring a coupon code to get 10% off their wheels.

The man and his plan.... I always look forward to your videos, advice and commentary.
Thanks buddy. This has been the plan before buying the car. It’s finally happening.
John is such a stand up guy! Took the time to look at a data log screenshot and shared his opinion, much appreciated. The whole LHT team is the best in the business, wish I was a part of their team!
Love the testing you guys are doing, it's a very welcome addition to your videos for those that crave information and don't have the funds to do what you are able to do!
Everything looks perfect except for those center caps lol. Yall did a very good job.
Agreed. Hope they get some honda center caps fitted up.
Love it! The wheels look great. Great fitment and no need to roll the fenders so thats a winner!!! The color is really cool, it almost looks like the original Kaiser Silver in some angles.
Love the Q&A format John more please , but maybe not always at 2:00 am. I definitely know what it means to find a good “wheel guy” when replacing tyres, I always try to encourage them with a few extra bucks if they do a good job. I know it’s not the right way to go about it but if it works , it definitely cheaper than having your rim refinished. Keep up the great work.
Yes. I never ask for cheaper rates, I want better work as it is cheaper in the long run.
I had a tire guy remove the ties on the NSX, not only did he damage the wheels, but 2 tires as well. Then the ZO6 Carbon, another guy scratched 3 of the wheels and ruined 3 tires. Its unbelievable and frustrating. Carlos did perfect.
Carlos deserves a pay rise
John I love your enthusiasm and your expertise in what you do and somehow maintain a humble attitude…. If I had your knowledge my head would be so big lol … thank you for the channel and keep it up!!!
The things you say and the quality that comes out of your shop at LHT definitely resonates with me, John. Those wheels look amazing, btw.👌 Great video and I enjoyed the bonus Q&A session. That ol' exhaust system at the end looked like quite a workout.😅 Have a good evening, buddy.
🤣🤣
Omg 😱😱 I cant believe you got the wheels and tyres fitted up then removed them all again just to weigh them 😂😂😂😂😂 I'm loving this s2000 build looking forward to seeing it in the flesh soon
I like how you leave a teaser on the episodes.
That tire size looks really good with that rim on that car. Well done. I appreciate the detail you bring to this type of content. And everyone is a bit different in how they do their stuff/keep their cars, for me it's just cool to see them done nicely and cleanly, even if you move on. It keeps the next thing coming!
John, you're a stand-up guy. You and your team are all A+ quality people.. it takes years to build your reputation and good name and only seconds to lose it. Keep up the good work you guys do. I follow your videos on a regular basis as I own a fully stock 2006 ap2 that's in excellent condition with about 41000 Mi on it. I Especially like your question and answer session at the very end of this video. I watched all your 3 part videos of this build, plus this one. Also, UA-cam says this video is 9 months old, and I'm wondering what's the update on this build, is any additional update to provide or comment you have about this build? Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the kind words. We’ve only been on UA-cam a short time but I opened the shop in 1996. I started in CRX, civic , Integra etc and do more engine swaps, turbo builds, custom fabrication etc. Many things we developed and tested before we really concentrated more on the S2000 as today.
We’re actually building and testing a NA package on this car. We just removed the turbo kit and filming now for a mini series. I like to test things to make sure I’m happy before ever offering it. I’m a big fan of minimal comprise when it comes to upgrades. So I hope this package is worth it.
Nice video John I’m super excited to do my turbo , Greetings from Texas, a big hug to you and Team LHT, good health and life so that you continue enjoying your hobby, Let's Gooooo Baby….. Honda S2000 PR in The House 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
Loving this build! I know you don't want to roll the fenders, but I'd recommend at least rolling the fronts if you plan to take ot to the track anytime. On stock AP2V1s, just a bit lower than yours during a sharp corner and a bit of curb ride the tire grabbed the fender and pulled the inner fender lip down flat. Happened tp a few other buddies as well on various track and autoX events.
Hi John, great vids/channel/content... keep up the great work. I may have missed it but what kind of camber you running on the front and rear ? Thx
What’s the offset on the wheel? Fitment look on point.
I really love this oem+ builds what you are doing! Working as a calibration engineer its really cool to ser that old hondas are capable for the same torque qurve with a grear calibration :) keep it doing guys!!!
Would you be able to get updated coupon code?!
Those look Awesome John!!! Great choice!
John oh John what have you done. You said the V3’s were your favorite wheel for the S2K and I’m in the process of powder coating my V3’s to match that Kaiser silver. I spoke about the Balladesports turbo kit but I’m going to wait for your kit to become available. Oh I wished I lived near your shop instead of PA. That bit of you benching the exhaust was hilarious glad you decided to go home.
The V3 is my favorite OEM S2000. The MF10 is my favorite wheel period. If our kit passes my expectations it won’t be available without our installation. 80% of our work comes from our of State.
@@LHTPerformance Sounds like I need a road trip!
Makes sense👍
I like a tad of tire roll-in as it adds a bit more stability during hard cornering. That said, I get your preference for the squared up sidewalls. They do look good!
What’s the offset? You mentioned 17x8 and 17x9 and the 225/255 tires.
17x8+53 17x9+63
Great build and videos so far! Love the lullaby music and the bench presses at the end too 😂
great video! rims look amazing and your exhaust work is ridiculously cool. I know trolls get the attention but I really enjoy your channel and always look forward to your new videos.
Loving the build. Excited for the next episode.
I know it's only been 6 months, but I was curious if you were still happy with the quality of these wheels. I like the look myself so I appreciate your trialing them
Yes. I’d buy them again. I’ll do an update video on this car soon as I’ve been driving a lot.
@@LHTPerformance you the man
Loving these updates buddy, keep up the superb work and content!!
Hi john those tyres were really dirty and can I buy the old rims 😊
Love the Q & A at the end
I loved the Q&A! Also car looks awesome with the MITA wheels and meaty tires
where can I buy an aluminum lug socket?
If I can only find a shop like you guys in vegas
Great video as always. Love the spec on the wheels. Do you have any idea on the price range for your turbo kit?
What’s the name of your lavender jack?
Awesome video as always. Can you add the wheels specs in the description of the video?
17x8+53 17x9+63
It looks dope af.
Love the balloon analogy
I'm the same way with my vehicles. If I can get away breaking free cost wise I'm a happy camper. Are you planning to sell those wheels on your website at some point?
Looks great guys sick build
Epic build John! From working at a Motorsports park a well setup turbo S2000 will give most Porsches a run for their money! Do we get a track day when this is done?!?!
I may possibly take it to the Firm. We have another car in the works that might be more for the track , we’ll see.
Exactly 💯 a factory air box that can feed an engine at 9000rpm.
So do you think that going 235 front and 265 back is going to be ok for the fenders at that height?
Have you tried the 235-265 I got these wheels thinking to go that size any idea if it will work?
@ I decided to go with 225/255. I think 235/265 might need to roll the fender. Lmk what’s up too.
It still blows my mind if they don't make a 225.40-17. its given me so much trouble over the years owning second gen MR2s so much so that I finally just went with 17x7.5 215 40 17 up front.
You can buy that size in the Michelin 4S
If you went 265 in the rear and 235 in the front on those wheels would they rub do you think?
Love this channel!
I’m not sure. It maybe too close.
On a stock AP1 ? Would it be lower or higher than your AP2?
@@aarongach1567 I don’t think there’s much difference
@@LHTPerformancehas any tried the 235 and 265 thinking to get that size
Love the wheels and the look, not a huge fan of the cone shape center caps. Will you consider getting flat black ones?
The only reason I like them are they are the exact duplicate of the factory Mugen ones.
Any idea if the 235 fronts and 266 rears will fit with no fender work??
@@SnoopiS2000 265 might be OK on the back if you don’t run too low. I don’t think 235 will work on the front.
@@LHTPerformance thanks for your reply appreciate it and I love your work am in
Canada would love your exhaust set up done on my car titanium
Is the cat the limiting factor on the OEM exhaust? I want to keep the OEM exhaust, so I'm wondering if just switching to one of those cats might be the way to go. At the end of the day I will be happy with 350whp anyways, I don't think I really "need" 400whp.
On a supercharged S2000 the stock exhaust will make 400whp. But it kills the power on a turbo build. If you watch the video on the blue car called , low Down torque’ I think we show it. That car sold and the new owner brought it back for an exhaust and re tune. It make 500whp more afterwards.
Hey John, where did you get you tires mounted that doesn’t scratch the lip of the wheels been looking for a shop that does good quality work without damaging my wheels?
Wheel Paradise. He’s off US19 in St Pete.
@@LHTPerformance perfect thanks John i will stop by their shop
Stock suspension on this car for the mita wheels?
It’s lowered on coil overs
I’m curious the savings over genuine wheels. It looks like the MITA are pretty pricey. What was the savings? $1000?
Mugen MF-10s are no longer made. On the used market they can bring stupid money if in good shape. Plus, these are designed for the S2000 to be 1” Wider and have perfect fitment. So far the savings are priceless
Are you going to add coil overs? and if so, do you still recommend the new Skunk2 Pro-st?
It already has Pro ST on it. Last year I took to the Dragon trip for a week and it felt great.
which one of the catalytic converters on the Stainless Brothers would be a good fit for a stock S2000? My car has 42,000 miles would a new catalytic converter help the car breathe better? Or don't bother?
If your stock cat isn’t damaged, I wouldn’t change it. Unless you do other mods, the very little power in changing the cat, just more sound.
Imo, i just like 18s better. Sure they ride harsher, but they fit out the S2000s massive fender wells way better.
Looks so good!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
would the extra hole in the air box do anything for a not turbo motor?
Based on the fact it made 380 with no hole, I’d say no. We’ve been saying the factory air box is better than most intakes for the s S2000
@@LHTPerformance how much does it increase IAT by putting the hole in the side of the airbox? I assume its worthwhile anyways considering you needed more flow
@@markmartin7384 I didn’t see any real noticeable changes. We’re dumping with the hood open and massive fans running. I’ll do plenty of testing on the street and share all the information about it. Also more cat testing too.
Next car, NSX, God allowing!
I’ve always wondered how busy your shop is and what your shop rate is? You’re always doing those extra little bits, as though it was your car, but that has to make your price high, right?
Our shop rate is $105. We often charge less as we give away time. I’m not a businessman and don’t buckle and dime. There’s a reason we make many friends from customers and you see so many gifts and gift cards come our way. It more than makes up for getting rich.
@@LHTPerformance You're an actual repair shop, unlike the Honda/Acura swap-a-part guys and they charge $165/hr.
You should advertise an OEM+ 4 wheel suspension package that includes engine/tranny/exhaust mount package.
These s2000/Integra/Prelude/Civic cars aren't getting any younger.
Also s2k ap1 is already a handful now with 400hp plus.. its crazy. That's why you see 500hp plus s2k with Dot drag radials on the street That takes away from the car
And closer to breaking parts.
small dent at @7:34 bummer
Thanks for reminding me. Lol.
Loved than ending !
The 24ish lbs you saved on the wheels is unsprung weight, which is like taking 65lbs out of the sprung part of the car.
I know you’ve said it many times but what is your height recommendation for coilovers?
We typically drop them 20-25mm from stock
Thank you
In the video description, you put the rear as 18, do you mean 17?
@@TheDjlisgo I meant 17
@@TheDjlisgo Correct. 17 X 8 and 17 X 9. I fixed it , thanks.
Nothing wrong with purchasing replica wheels, build to your budget. I Had a 89 CRX SI did an SIR front conversion, lowered the car and sitting on Mugen M7 only to have the car stolen and stripped. I left the car scene after that.
Same same
Everything else we buy is made in China. China is the new Japan
Unfortunately, they don’t make 265 in 17’”. That’s why people make the jump to 18’s in some cases.
I almost bought a real set of Mugen MF10 in S2k fitment last year just to hoard even though I sold my S2000 before they came up locally
👍👍
I freaking love your comments John " I know someone is dying to comment about the dirty tires" buhaha
Lol. I remember in college, They pulled out a big piece of paper stuck it to the wall and then draw a dot in the middle. He said write your answer down. 95% wrote ‘ a black Dot’. 5% said ‘ a huge piece of paper with a black dot in the middle’. I was in the 5%. I won’t say what the professor called the 95%. Lol.
Love the look and the mods. Want to trade for a CTS-V Wagon? 😁
Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it, but no thanks on the CTSV. Even though it’s an awesome machine. I’ve worked on a few.
#LHTPERFECTION
13:54 fork that hater, the oem airbox is awesome!
Think the math is off 2lbs on the front wheel comparison?!
It might be. I edited this video at 2:00 am Friday after the brief exhaust workout. Lol.
Not a huge fan of those center caps. The build is amazing though!
It’s the exact replica of the Mugen center caps
@@LHTPerformance oh really? I did not know that. Can't wait for the next episode!
