- 2001 Jaguar S-Type: location of fuel inertia switch. Fuel pumps and fuses associated with diagnosis. The steps on the video describes steps to diagnose and repair the vehicle.
I first tested with starting fluid and fogging oil before/after "Throttle Body" clean. The car started after I'd sprayed the fluids inside the throat of the Throttle Body, but it didn't stay running.
There's a fuel pump sending-unit (left passenger's side) and a pump-receiving unit (right driver's side). I only replaced the electric pump (passenger's side) and not the entire assembly, which is more expensive.
After the replacement of the electric fuel pump (not the assembly), the car started. Last, I also replace the fuel pump relay (located in back of the trump (left passenger's side), to be on the safe side.
Last, checking the fuel pressure sensor could also help.
I am not a licensed mechanic but, I try to be as specific as possible as a DIY garage mechanic.
The fuel pump kill switch ..was a big hello and save from tow and mechanic cost...great job..

I have 1999 S-Type, same problem/no fuel pressure. Replaced the relay but didnt help. Will try repeating what you did , hopefully will help..

Thanks so much, I just bought mine. It starts and stops. I have checked the fuel pump relay, shot off , and related fuses all Ok. I will change the fuel pump. Thanks again. I will let you know what happens

do you no were brake park lock relay is in fuse box ? im in stype r and stuck in park no blinking park lite , no sport buttom lite either, Iv checked all the fuses there good has to be a relay some were.
no I did not replaced both rear modules everything electronic works on the car except the key interlock brake system , car starts etcc wont come out of park

Hey how do you pop the inertia switch? I was able to locate it but I don’t see the switch
nkelley3 I think it’s already pushed down. Does that mean it’s good? I replaced the fuel pump and after I did it would run for a couple of miles then when I would try to start it up again it would stall or it would turn on but it would turn off like 20 seconds after.
nkelley3 no just that. Idk what else’s to do, now it’s just sitting on my drive way bc idk the reason why it turns off

You said "the sending unit is right here" Where? You said "the diode switch is right here" Where? Fuse 15 in the luggage compartment on mine is a 5 amp alternator fuse.
MIne is a 2002. I looked several time for the inertia switch and couldn't find it. Now I just found what I believe is it but apparently it didn't pop up. I bent my head way inside the foot well and didn't see anything red or an actual button to push but I did feel something about the size of a dime where a button probably is but the button in recessed in that device. So I assume the inertia switch is there but just not popped up. I've replaces the fuel pump, checked all the relays and fuses and I still don't get any pressure of fuel to the schrader valve and I don't hear a pump when I turn on the key.
