Make part 3, also the reason Chihiro said messi and Ronaldo didn’t win a World Cup, is because the best player to date in their verse is Noel Noa. And I think I seen somewhere when they said messi and Ronaldo actually retired giving Noel Noa the #1 striker title.

The manga explains this further but Blue Lock's issue with Japan is more the fact that Japanese societal conformism ruins originality and individualism of players, specifically strikers that tend to be the core of raw performance, dominance and uniqueness on the field.
Also, the author is a HUGE fan of certain players, and practically all important players are based off of real players to a certain extent according to interviews. To avoid spoiling, I'll just drop a few from players whose playstyle has already been somewhat introduced, will probs continue listing these about all main characters as more reviews come out if they do:
Isagi Yoichi - Filippo Inzhagi
Kunigami Rensuke - Gareth Bale
Barou Shoei - Mario Ballotelli with a few playstyle influences from CR7

@@bernardolima1278 Nope, I'm basing what I'm saying on the author's direct interview quotes. Explosive pace, aerial duels, ball retention, general athleticism, and powerful left footed strikes from distance are all similar enough traits for Kunigami over Chigiri. That aside, Chigiri Hyoma is based on a Japanese player named Ryo Miyaichi. I'll explain more about this guy later on once Chigiri's strengths and weaknesses get revealed during this guy's review series.

The idea of 11 strikers forming a team made me love this anime. It is pure football. The way we played as kids with no coaching. Everyone wanted to be a forward, if you were a defender a) it was because you sucked b) you chose to sacrifice your ego or c) all your teammates were shit and couldn't move the ball forward to you. (I have experienced all three of those situations at some point)
If you were a midfielder it was because you still wanted to be a forward but you liked dropping deep so you can hog the ball more
Also, in my idea of football whatever a player's position and role is, they must be at least good at scoring goals, as that is the whole point of the game. Being a RB or whatever shouldn't be an excuse to not being able to score a 1v1 against the GK. But instead today we have strikers who say "scoring goals isn't my strong point"

The manga artwork is how I initially found out about the show a while back while I was looking for football banners to customize my channel. After that I saw some clips of it here or there on twitter and the other day I just decided to finally watch the whole thing. Made a random video about it and people liked it so I made a part 2. Hope that explains it.

Don't hate on Raichi too much. Unlike the other bozos in Team Z who is not Isagi, Bachira, Chigiri, Kunigami and Gagamaru, Raichi is one of the most consistent player in Blue Lock and he does whatever role is given to him really well.
