- yet another story on ACA about fallen soap star Rowena Wallace (Sons & Daughters) & how she is struggling to make ends meet on the pension etc, looks like this one is mostly rehashed from old stories & they have aired it with all the rest of the 'where are they now' type stories they have featured lately. Personally i reckon Rowena could easily get some work, surely she could do something like teach acting classes or some advertising spots....
Rowena Wallace made Sons and Daughters worth watching. When she left so did a large number of the viewing audience.
i mainly watched sons and daughters because she was so fantastic in it. another classic show that never gets repeated here in the uk..would love to watch it from the start again.

I hope things improve for her too. She was/is a terrific actress. The woman who played Beryl (Laila Hayes?) Saw that she is struggling financially too. shame, they all deserve a lot more.

Feel so sorry for her i loved her and My Mothers name was Patricia Morrell and looked very much like Rowena strangely enough.

was Oscar nominated just last year!!! I'll bet any indie director would like to cast her
in something,if the part is right for her!!!

Rowena is brilliant! She has achieved so much, and gave so many people so much pleasure. Ok her job situation and even financial situation might not be as good as it could be at the moment but so what? 63 is not old and she still has a hell of a lot to offer to the industry. She should focus on what she has achieved and what she can still achieve, she could teach a new generation T.V actress how to be a total bitch T.V character for a start,

Grundy soaps never paid that much; certainly not enough to live on for the rest of your life after a few years as a series regular. The fame and exposure was never matched by the pay checks. Rowena is hugely talented and it would be wonderful to see her back entertaining audiences again.
yes i think people hear the 'she was the highest paid tv actress in Australia' and imagine she was on a Jennifer Aniston salary and squandered all her millions away when in actual fact you are going back to 1981- early 85 hen she was in her peak and would have been getting alot less than millions. TV salaries for even the highest paid tv actresses in Australia was not a fortune back then especially for females. Val Lehman was the highest paid when she left PCBH in 83 and I think I read once she was getting 2k a week. Still though, Rowena has admitted herself she was terrible with her earnings, she could have invested in a house for herself in the city with that cash and set herself up with it as she seems to have 0 assets.

ah I see, yes she was an amazing actress... i guess depression played a big part in how things turned out for her and why she is financially struggling. I hope things turn around for her

that's not good but shit happens that life im affrad I loved all the ausse soaps back in the day did Rowena Wallace appear in most off the soaps I remember her in cbh and I think she was in neighbours and ofcause sons and doughters bring it back on uk tv
