  • I have returned home to Toronto after spending much of the last eighteen months in hospitals. I am hoping that my health has improved to the point where I can start producing original content again. Thank you to all who are watching for your support over the course of this trying time. I hope that you all are coping with the COVID crisis successfully.

@Intelligently Stoopid far above average in intelligence he is.. so thats the very least you should say about him.. in some cartoons you see the huge dude with huge muscles being bossed around by a very small little dog... cause the dog had 1 IQ point more.. but then again maybe the huge dude really was the smart one cause he let himself be bossed around to be a protector..
The really really challenge in life is to differentiate between that huge dude that secretly is smarter, and the huge dude that is not smarter. Sometimes the huge dude who is not smarter does not let anyone boss him around..

His problem was far more than that, because of what this substance does some have never got off it, while suffering being on it. Id think hes questioning things he talked about with a lot of confidence before that hes unsure of now after death scares and family coming together. He'll figure it out but he may need some time. Hes talked before about how hard it is to change beliefs and that seems to be what hes been doing.

I've seen tons of "internet dad" or "father I never had" comments on his videos over the years. But reading your comment just now it hit me just how powerful that description is. To be a father figure is a seriously important and meaningful thing, considering how important fathers are. And them when you add "internet"-the world wide ability to communicate with others. Can it get any more powerful than "internet dad"? I don't think so.
(My point is that what started out as a joke is no longer a joke. And it is the biggest compliment I think one could pay a man these days.) And it fits him!!

It is hard to express properly how frightened I had been for you and for myself at the prospect of losing you since finding out about your illness. Also to express my gratitude to everyone including yourself; who grabbed you by the scruff of the neck so-to-speak and refused to let you go. My gratitude is selfish, both for myself and as a representative of the millions so far; and one day billions of people that you have helped by your words, wisdom, fortitude, and courage. The lord bless you and keep you all. The lord make his face shine upon you. The lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

This man saved my life. I found myself in a closet with a belt around my neck. Deep cuts and dried blood when I woke up. I had no recollection of that night. That same day I heard a youtube video of his and it resounded like a gong had been struck. And day by day. And it wasnt easy. I fixed so much. I doubled my income, repaired relationships with good people, and shed toxic people from my life. And built sufficient defenses to not slip back into that world. However those walls take constant maintenance and it's hard. I truly hope to shake his hand one day!

@abcd3625 you definitely have an argument for hypocrisy when you put it that way. On the other hand, do his "hypocritical" actions not support what he suggests in his book? As in - if you fail to follow any of the 12 points, this (his failings with the drug use) is a possible consequence. Peterson recognizes the frailty in people and has never (that I've seen or read) even hinted that he was any better in this.
I am not going to defend his drug use nor do I know anymore specifics of what happened other than what he himself has posted. What I see is just another human story struggling with what life presents them. I'm curious to see how he addresses his situation in the future. However, this "hypocrisy" as you called it does not erase what Peterson has said and written, it simply shows that he too is susceptible to weakness as are we all. His 12 points can be as useful to himself as anyone else.

I got a lobster tattoo on my back a couple months ago as a reminder to always stand tall and face life. Your work is probably the main reason I didn’t commit suicide 3 years ago. I’m so glad to hear you are back home and on the mend. The world needs you now more than ever.

Best comment I've read in 20 minutes of scrolling, and good enough that I'm going to stop looking for a better one. Stay strong, friend. 👍

You are loved, appreciated, valued, and I wish you joy, strength to recover, hope to blossom to bring renewed purpose and insight ...but most of all, I wish for you deep intimacy and healing for you and your entire family. Laughter is good too.

I'm watching this two years later and the pain in you is palpable. I'm so pleased that you've now come out the other side of it. Best wishes to you and your family.

Real talk, I was literally in the middle of watching your biblical series, XIII, to be exact. It’s so wonderful to see that you’re back in better health. You’ve already done so much for society and I feel that a lot of us want you to know that we’re more than satisfied with what you’ve contributed. The fact that you’re preparing even more content is appreciated tremendously and will be most likely relished, so thank you, Dr. Peterson!

@Peter Bishop You’re not wrong, his voice does sound a little weaker. I mean, try going through benzodiazepine withdrawal/detox and let me know how your voice sounds after 😂

I once heard you say in one of your lectures that having strangers come up to you in public and tell you how much you’ve impacted their lives was about as good as it gets. I want you to know that I consider you the most important intellectual thinker I’ve ever heard. Thank you for putting your work out there and explaining the truth in a time when there’s a war on truth.

I pray for your full recovery. I did not know of you till this last several weeks…..and after watching some of your past videos and current ones…..I cried as there was so many things you spoken of about the impacts and recovery with your health challenges…..that matched what I have been going thru these last number of years with my own health issues. I thank u for sharing your personal information and your perspectives. May god be with you and I pray for both of us to have a full recovery!
