Torches during those times were just a typical thing that even low levels would have and people would have multiple accounts with countless mules that just had torches. Good times and I really miss those days.

This was a great video Coooley! The legacy to D2R graphics transition was sick. Could also do one on the progression of low-level fights against Diablo Clone, 🙂.
Thanks, man! Glad you saw that and enjoyed it! I was actually thinking about that the other day... Seeing just how low we could go with levels vs DClone. The history of THAT challenge might not have much to it... yet.
Thank you. I’ve been playing D4 but every time I hear that iconic Tristram theme it brings back countless unbeatable memories from earlier days. Diablo 1/2 will always be my favorite Diablo game.

My first character that league was a light sorc because i really wanted to try out infy. I am good at trading and finding things that are worth something to other players so i also got rich very very fast that league. My second character was my first attempt into uber trist, a double swing barb because i have always hated paladins in all its forms due to how boring they are to play. Now i had no clue what i was really facing but everyone said "no spellcaster" so a barb it is, and since its bosses double swing is a lot better then whirlwind. On my first attempt i got three portals up, but lillith was really fucking rough killing my merc in like 2-3 hit and me in like 2-4, that was when i realized that res was very important, so i stocked up on psn immunity potions for lillith and the battle was easily won. My first attempt in uber tristram ended in disaster, i ran into meph first (when they had random spawn points) the conviction aura just killed me and with no other resources to go for at the time it was a failure. But i also knew what was actually killing me, the convition aura, so the next day i sold some stuff and changed the enigma on my barb to a Chains of Honor and swapped the rare jewel out of my arreats for an um rune. Second attempt was straight forward and easy, all in all maybe 10 minutes but i never cared about how fast i could do it. My choice of weapons were also suboptimal, i was playing with botd ba and beast ba. Even though a lot of players said that grief was better then botd. By then a metric ton of smiters where offering uber trist services on the condition that if it was a pala torch it went to them. Personally i never bothered about it just setting an easy price of 2 ists for a guaranteed torch if they had the keys. So all of a sudden i had a long cue of people wanting me to do uber tristram leaving all the paladins in the dust. Now it wasnt the fastest, my only source of cb was gore riders, and with the still random spawns of the uber bosses and finding the organ holders my average time was roughly 5-7 minutes. But getting on average 20 ists an hour and a cue to last me for weeks, it made me from very rich to insanely rich. First order of the day were changing my 2 +3 bo spears to 2 cta 3 because lillith hits like she has been working out every day with a very very hefty dose of growth hormones, and mephisto were still dealing a lot of damage. Second order of business lowering the time, so the first thing was changing gore riders for goblin toe and arreats for the set item helm with cb. Swapped botd for a good 39x grief, swapped coh for the assassin runeword armor that could proc fade. Still doing the organ bosses with enigma of course and i got the time down to like 3-5 minutes. But never any lower then that.
Uber trist leveling was my jam, used to self-run it. 3 d2 loaders, 2 hammerdins with left mouse skill holding shift generating hammers and 1 bonewall necro manually casting the wall. Did this crap in hardcore too...Good times. Made a lot of forum gold on d2jsp back in the day
