Yeah, it is indeed tough. Though I am good in this game, I couldn't go higher than Normal when going legitimate difficulty. Arcade Ace or For Paul..., I need the cheats.
Though I still play it, brings back memories. One of my favorite SNES games, though a tough one. I can beat Normal difficulty no problem, but Arcade Ace or For Paul, I struggle without cheating. The level with the two fighting girls is the hardest. I will say that the player in this video didn't do everything he should; no stomping, no grabbing, and no proper use of the Fighter and Nunchucku. Look below for my tips for anyone who struggle or don't know certain moves. Fighter: R Nunchucku: L + R How to grab: Back + Y. This will help you a lot in the first two levels. If it didn't work, press X with Y. How to stomp: When opponent is down, jump over and then press ⬇️. How to kill the Phantom final boss: When the health is at zero, use the grab move to finish him off (Warning: You MUST be in Nunchucku mode. You're screwed if the blue meter isn't high enough or especially, attempt to go immediately to him using Level Select without turning on Infinite Chi. I learned that the hard way...). Want some extra fun? Here are the cheats (go to Options first): Level Select: Highlight Sound Test, B, A, R, B, A, R, A. Debug Mode: Highlight Difficulty, L, A, R, R, Y. (spells Larry! lol) Blood: Highlight Difficulty, B, L, A, ⬇️,⬇️, Y. (To be serious, I don't know why they put this as a cheat, when the game is already rated T and the blood itself is rather small. Then again, it was the early '90s...) For Paul... difficulty: Highlight Game Speed, A, B, Select, ⬆️,➡️,⬇️. Plays like Arcade Ace, but the opponent now moves the same speed as you in Fighter mode. Try the stick girls or the Phantom for a REAL challenge! Infinite Chi (blue energy): Highlight Sound, Select, A, L, A, R, Y. (NOTE: This also affects the CPU in vs. mode) Slowmo/Screenshot: Pause the fight, B, A, B, Y, ⬇️,⬆️, ⬅️,⬅️. Screenshot simply gets rid of the text. For Slow motion, 0 is normal speed while 4 is the slowest. Have fun!
I've beaten it, though it took me forever as a kid. Now, I'm skillful. The Phantom did freak me out back then, because the level slowly turns eerily dark and the creepy music, followed by the flashing lightning. Gotta love the SNES' advanced 16-bit effects.
You can beat the armored demon really easily if you use the quick kick from the regular Bruce Lee form (before you fill the bar to unlock fighter). Discovered that many years ago by accident. Turned the extremely difficult fight into an easy to cheese one.
one of my favorite cut scene dialogue in any game: "Hi. My name is April..." "Get away from that girl!" "Why?" *Immediately begins fighting you with butcher knives in both hands*
"I have developed a way of fighting with no fixed positions, no set movements." *Proceeds to clonk some dude in the head with nunchucks until he's unconscious*
Yeah the whole game is down to a recipe. 1) build meter using either down/forward + A (when far away) or forward + A (when close). 2) when the enemy is on the ground, do a stomp by jumping above them, hold down while jumping, then press A while you're about to fall down. 3) repeat 1+2 until the meter is full. 4) use nunchaku, hold forward and spam Y. keep doing step 2 (without nunchaku) then back to 4 when the enemy is up. Works on everyone easily besides the claw guy, who's almost immune to step 1, but by then your meter should be full.
I never played it but it looks very hard... No blocking? Very good parallax- and 3D-scrolling, beautyful animated backgrounds! Looks like a really nice and polished SNES-game!
NUNCA HIZO EL MOVIMIENTOI ESPECIAL, CUANDO EL ENEMIGO ESTA EN EL SUELO, DESPUES DE MUCHOS GOLPES, TIENES POCO TIEMPO PERO SI VAZ SALTAS ENSIMA Y ANTES DE CAER APRETAS (FLECHA ABAJO+B) PUEDE HACER UN PISOTON EN EL CUELLO, AYUDA MAS QUE VERLO LEVANTARSE.
This game could have been so much better if they just tightened up the controls. Loved the multi styles you could switch between. Why they put Williams from Enter The Dragon in the gym fight scene is a mystery to me, but still a nice throwback. Overall it's a very nicely done game, despite it's shortcomings. I find myself going back to it to play it again and again just like karate kid for NES.
Sorry, that's not gonna happen. Nintendo is extremely limited on any third-party games. You have to play through a good emulator like the Snes9x or the authentic game.
My dad used to played with me 25 years ago. He hated the cooks becaues not only they were two but they had weapons. Those were the days....the golden days.
I remember when I finally saved enough of my $2 lunch money in jr high to buy this game on SNES. I would beast this game on the hardest level as a teen. The wooden man and using the nunchucks was my fav thing.
I was playing this game for years on SNES then i got it on the emulator and when I flipped over I didn't know what happened so I fast forward and saw the Demon fall I was shocked and finally saw the ending. I smiled and got emotional when I read Respect to Bruce Lee and all who follow the Tao of Jeet Kun Do along with the music. 💖
Fun Fact: The game took inspiration off of Arcade/Genesis games like Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone (1990) and Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers (1993).
Played this for years on SNES and later emulators, I wish the demonstration were a little better because there's a whole quivver of special counter attacks (karate chop the sailor if he jumps, counter throw whilst he attempts to grab Bruce by the neck with his chain etc...) that you could perform his video isn't showing. Wa-kaak! Wachooo OoOioOoooooo!
Three weeks before the opening of Enter the Dragon, the film that brought him international fame, Bruce fell into a mysterious coma and died. He was 32. Over 25,000 people attended his funeral in Hong Kong, but I buried him back home in America to be close to us. All these years later, people still wonder about the way he died. I prefer to remember the way he lived. - Linda Lee
This was one of the first two SNES games I ever played. First one was The Mask. Both on my little brother's SNES (I owned an Amiga, and he a SNES). So it has been many years since I've played this, but still remember the sound effects and music very well. First time listening to it with headphones on and I don't like how the music instruments goes from left to right over and over again. A very disoriented feeling. Kinda like a lot of Amiga games, hence why I don't record my stuff with stereo separation :)
Rented this game at a blockbuster many eons ago. Looking at this again I now realise that the opening intro music reminds me of classic mortal kombat games. Lol.
@@LITTLE1994 yeah the Phantom. Even though if I keep losing my mirrors, I know how I can bring them back all I have to do is to just fight him until he retreats then they'll be returned
@@geraldbrown2893 Yes, that is true, but it's very hard doing so, because of the restricted 25% health. I found out from experience and cheats that you CAN'T kill the Phantom during the "0 lives" phase; even if the health is zero and you do the move with the nunchucku to finish him off normally, it won't work, as he'll throw you away. So, yeah, all you can do is avoid as best you can until he disappears after about 30 seconds.
This game is good, but what's stopping this game from being amazing is the hitboxes. If they had fixed the hitboxes in this game, this would have been one of my favorite fighters
And If the game wasnt so goddamn difficulty aswell. Like, Imagine playing street fighter, but every fighter is Vega. This actually looks Fun, but without the cheat for easy mode or infinite nunchaku usage, this game gets pretty frustrating to play. Which is a shame really.
Without a doubt Dragon, the life of Bruce Lee is the best game about such eminence they have made. Being from 93 to aged incredibly well and the gameplay is very good and with a great variety of techniques. For the time a 10 without a doubt.
Damn @5:36 Look at them combos. That display of hands and footwork was awesome And ended the match with that yell of his. I neer played this game as a kid but i gotta say They captured essence of bruce pretty well.
Great video! This is the first time I see the ending. I hardly used to get to the final boss, but I didn't had a chance against him Hehe Thank you and thanks internet!

Some of these fights like the one at the Gym in Seattle against the fake Jim Kelly wannabe were either deleted scenes from the movie or they were just added into the game.

If only he had Fei Long’s Moves

Sadly, the game doesn't include a Chuck Norris fight. That would have been awesome.
Most likely because they couldn't afford to pay him the royalties to use his image.
It was because it’s impossible for them to code the game so that chuck could lose.
But was Chuck in the movie? Because the kind of follows the movie.
everybody in the world who love Bruce Lee most of them are his favorite man and their favorite hero so rest in peace Bruce Lee rest in peace.
8:31 you can reverse an opponent's grab with your throw. This applies to all opponents, not just Johnny Sun.
For a game calling itself The Bruce Lee Story, the plot doesn't make a lick of sense unless you've seen the movie.
THAT shit didn't even make much sense.
Are you talking about the Jaguar or the game itself. since that statement can be applied to both.
The whole game was full of senseless fights, I didn't get it at all, when I was a kid I never finished that game
That sailor can apply for a job as a thug in the final fight series.

You missed so many opportunities to throw, counter throw, and stomp.
James Butler Well he beat the game so, I guess he didn't need to.
he doesn't seem to be too good at it tbh....
So Bruce Lee never owned a shirt?
bruce lee don´t need a shirt!
Keith Hussey He had one but gave it to Chuck Norris so he also had God-like powers. :P

There always have to be Easiest Mode, imo. There isn't any real easiest in this game. It's way too difficult for a video game console one.
You've got to remember, a lot of games in the '90s were tough, though not quite as common as the '80s, specifically NES.
Old games have something special even if they are simple I don’t know what it is
