- This was my experience with my first service at 6200mi on the Aprilia RSV4 Factory. I took it to the dealer and in this video, I'll tell you about my experience and any issues I had. I'd love to hear your experience if you have an Aprilia. Thanks so much for watching.
Finally someone who in the same state. Debating selling my 10RR for one of these right now
Its a great bike but def has cons.
There is an easy reset that you can do yourself (at least on my 2015). Also AF1 has a great forum for the RSV4, that is full of knowledgeable people including actual Ape technicians, that can help with any issue you may run into.
Yeah. The 2017 and up models is when they gave the bike the tft display is when they made it to where you can no longer do it yourself. You have to have Aprilia do it with their software.
@@rsv4pilot114 no kidding, thanks for the clarification.
@@Doc-zg3xm No problem
Loool you speaking about the manual
I think the first service should always be done at a certified dealer. Why ? Its more than just an oil and filter change. Torque specs are checked, cables are checked and lubed, electronic diagnostics, etc. it's a brand new machine that's still wearing parts together and things can come loose or damaged. I have seen this happen. Better safe than sorry, you only have two points of contact and no protection besides the good gear you should be wearing.
Good point. Its probably a good idea to do that.
mine came on at 6214 , i'm nearly at 7500 & haven't officially serviced it , tighten the bolts & change the oil done!
Interesting. Mine was at 6250 and so was my friends' Tuono
the rest of the world uses metric. 10000k service interval - 6250 x 1.6 = 10000
Just bought my '20 with 1400 miles, one owner, stoked. Love all the videos. Question; how did you remove all the dang stickers? Mine still has em and I heard they are a pain to remove and I don't wanna screw up the livery stickers.
So normally I use a hairdryer to warm the stickers and peel them off. Ome day, I rode my bike to work and it was parked outside in the sun. I tried peeling it off and it worked. Go figure! One problem...the sticker on the right upper fairing above the winglet is on a red decal. When I tried peeling the sticker, the sticker peeled the decal too. So now my decal is messed up. I guess I will have to get another one or put a sticker over it.
Hey thanks for the tip about the sun. Sucks about your livery decal, that’s my biggest concern other than sun fading the paint enough that when I pull the sticker off the paint/decal underneath won’t match. Oh well.
@@franklinwilkerson2061 No issues with the paint being messed up. Just the one on the decal. My advice is peel it from the side thats over the decal and go very slowly. Dont start at the end that is just over the paint.
You bought the one from Glendale CA?
Yup, Pro Italia. One owner, bought new from the shop and they performed the 600 mile service. Tires have 5/8” chicken strips so the owner wasn’t tracking it and he only sold it because he has too many bikes. Unless of course they’re BSing me 🤔.
Absolutely wait for the valve check service. Will not be an issue
It’s funny how the bike you described is absolutely not the bike you have in your garage lol…get a concourse
Do you still have your RSV4? I’m picking up a ‘21 this weekend and looking to ride with someone. I’m in the Raleigh area, too.
Yeah. I love my RSV4
What engine temp does it reach? Hottest youve seen
In the summer when its hot out and driving, it stays around 185 depending on speed and rpm. But thats a good avg. When you stop, say for a long red light, it gets up to 225ish. Last year I rode to DC in the summer and it only happened that one time, but it hit 241 and the warning lights came on. Shut it off for about 15min and it was fine. It only happened once. I've ridden in hot weather plenty of times but it has never gotten that high except that one time. When its cooler outside like spring or fall, it will get to like 219 at a long red light but when riding its like 165. Hope that helps.
@@rsv4pilot114 thanks so much for the reply bud, this helps a lot. Im looking at buying this 2020 rsv4 from my friend. Ride safe always
@@rjsgrjsg5339 You'll love it. It's an amazing machine. Enjoy it
It's 6250 miles because it's service interval is 10,000kms..
Thats what I thought too but if you do the math conversion, it's actually 6213. That's why I was confused
@@rsv4pilot114 I've always done my bikes every 7,500KM's as a max.
6250 miles are just over 10k kilometres. Greetings from the metric side of the pond :)
Yeah. That's what we figured. Funny though, when we did a conversion, it came up to 6213 not 6250. Oh well, I guess we figured it out. 🤣🤣
@@rsv4pilot114 Haha yeah .. italians 😆 Great bike though !!
@@EagleF3F Love this bike even if those Italians are weird and quirky.
@@rsv4pilot114 I wish you well with it. Totally lost count of all the guys who have owned Aprilia, Ducati, BMW etc that have nothing but trouble with them. I hope you don't suffer this?
Get a yamaha mt 09sp
Great bike. I had an XSR900. Love it
@@rsv4pilot114 MT-09's look like a transformer. LOL
