    1. He Stopped bracing
    2. He bought heel deficit shoes (better ankle mobility)
    3. Started wearing a blindfold (Dr. Seedman's recommendation)

    Interestingly that lots of upper back rowing volume has paid off. This is exactly same philosophy as Dan Green, one of best Raw Squatters in the world. He says you can never do too much upper back work and has an insane amount of rows in his programme

  • @arpussupra

    Belt squats are for real. I started doing them after seeing you lads programmed them into Hadyn's training, and also seeing Zack's video on how taller lifters might approach the squat.
    It sounds like bullshit but within just a few of weeks of doing them noticed a good strength and even size increase in my quads despite the fact I had already been back squatting for a fair amount of time.

    I have a similar body type and I had the same issue. I was recovering from a knee injury, my physical therapist at the time recommended I do lunge/single leg touchdowns because my knees were coming out more than they needed too and I could use my hips better. As a result, the squat movement feels better. I wonder when it comes to anatomy, is there common issues that similar body type individuals experience.

    hey sika, probably a silly question, i recently tore my acl, unfortunately im not able to get surgery. I am a Carpenter by trade just to give you an idea on what i do daily. Think i can eventually squat later are on when my knee is back, not to normal, but back to feeling better? Whats your thoughts? Have any exercises in mind? Much appreciated, you guys are great.

    • @corryface
      @corryface 3 роки тому +1

      I tore my acl twice bud, not able to do a graft for the 2nd repair so im currently without an acl for the past 5 years now. Been squatting away now but i just stay conservative, low and slow. Ive found back step lunges are a good unilateral exercise work on, feels like less stress on the knee where the stability is poor.

    • @croceaMors1
      @croceaMors1 3 роки тому +3

      it shouldnt have a massive long term impact on your squat (you can even squat without the presence of an acl), you may want to start squatting light to a high box with even just bodyweight to start and within a month or six weeks of increasing weight and decreasing the size of the box you can eventually take the box away and be back to squatting normally. The main thing is to keep moving through the greatest comfortable range of motion that you can and take it slow and steady but consistent in your recovery.

    • @jordanvaughan5754
      @jordanvaughan5754 3 роки тому +3

      Get the hammies and soleus super strong, they act as secondary ACLs as they draw the tibia posteriorly - so prevent excessive anterior translation like the acl.
      I’d start with more hip dominate squat variations then ease into more knee dominate variations

      @croceaMors1 3 роки тому +1

      @@luacosta9066 no problem man. What the other man was saying about a more hip dominant squat is important too so consider changing to lowbar to protect knees. You'll be fine if you're sensible but not scared
