Incredible. As someone who's been squatting seriously for a year to 18 months I'm just approaching 200kg now. 300kg is the real goal for posting a number many people can with the right commitment but never will. Amazing journey.

maybe like 5% of people could ever hope to hit 300 naturally, possibly closer to 10 or 12% enhanced and even then the majority would be 120kg+ bw. 300kg is truly huge, especially for a non super.

You describing the nervousness before going for a big goal like that is so accurate. I've been lifting for 9+ years but only recently (last 2-3 years) been taking it seriously. My first time going for a 2x bodyweight deadlift it's this weird feeling where you have so much self doubt but then you're also trying to counter it with self belief.
Also the latter part of the video talking about technique adjustments is great, as they are almost the exact same problems I have with squatting (losing back position, flaring elbows and even the hip flexor!) so going to try and implement them this week. Great video.

you can't get a better recount on a strength journey then this..
did i hear properly though, metaformin? for diabetes? I never read it but i saw a title on Metformin inhibiting the ability to develop muscle ( no idea if there is anything to it )🤔.
Can i ask for thought, recently in attempt to strengthen my glass back, I've started to do good mornings and hold for time at the bottom, and also start front squats and hold at the bottom(mostly). really trying to emphasise that thoracic extension and contraction right down the back.. trying to gauge an appropriate time under tention target as i go before moving up a weight. Do you see any merrit to this kind of approach?
    cheers from shaun

As a spidermonkey body type, watching this video with much jealousy. :D I will never squat 300, probably not even 200. But I do want to be able to squat double my body weight. That is going up as I'm recovering from knee surgery and gaining upper body mass and regaining lowerbody mass. So hoping I'll be able to hit 170 within 2 years. Main sport is jiu-jitsu, so not putting any pressure on the strength training.

I'm by no means an accomplished lifter. But I've controlled wrist and forearm pain from squatting by adjusting my grip to a thumb over, such that the bar draws a line between the base of my pinky and the meaty part of my palm below the thumb. That being said, my form is much more of a "low bar" squat, and my numbers are not nearly as impressive. Good work man!
