As a black woman Chris Kaba’s parents should be ashamed of themselves….. bad parenting…… This man was a menace to society, he was violent …. You need to make amends and apologise for his crimes…. You have put an officer and his family at risk because of your son. There was a drive by shooting in a primary school with that car previously, your son shot someone in a night club…. Thats definitely a dangerous man…..

I said this before and say once more a car can be used as a weapon; we all know this, so Chris Kaba was not unarmed. Just watch the footage where he tries to use the car as a weapon to escape the police. Now if this young man had done what he was told to do by the police, he would be alive today.

@@dannygolightly865 watch the footage. This is my understanding.
So remember everything was going on at that moment of time, I think, was reported in news just after, but on the ground, you no way know this; as the shot was fired, the driver moved and turned his head to look backward, and the fact that he was looking backward and the car was about to go backward is what tiggering the court case. So as the car was slamed into reverse it was stanionary then I think if the shot had not been fired in the next moment of time, the car would have gone backward and then forward to try to get past the blocking cars, possibly driving over the officer in front of the car, and remember, a car is a weapon. This is why the officer was found not guilty.
The sad thing is if this young man had only stopped and put hands up, he would be alive, and why did he not do this? I think that has to do with he had done in days before he knew if police found him. He was going to be arrested and end up in court and going to jail.

Armed officers were sent to effect the arrest because _the car_ was known to be involved in firearms offences. They treated the car and the driver with aggression that was entirely warranted.
Blake was rightly found not guilty as they tried to stop car and the driver attacked them. It's only after the incident that it was learned the driver was Kaba, and was the one who had committed the shooting in the first place.

I'm honestly surprised that armed police officers haven't handed in their firearms certificates en masse, given how often their higher-ups keep throwing the rank and file under the bus. It's clear that many officers are being left to bear the brunt of difficult split-second decisions, while those in power shift blame and distance themselves when things go wrong. It's no wonder trust is eroding within the force.

The fact that a judge was involved in the naming of this police office is an absolute source of shame to the judiciary which had a duty of care to the man. To name an individual in these circumstances should just open a judge up to being sued, he should be liable to prosecution. It's the second time in days that people's lives have been placed in unsafe conditions owing to decisions made by the judiciary, as was the case with Peter Lynch.
Without any knowledge of the difficult conditions under which firearms officers are working, it was completely inappropriate and laughable that Susanna Reid should have even thought to ask why the driver was shot in the head. She's just deliberately upping the anti, which is not professional.
How long do you think this Labour government can carry on blaming all these problems, some of which didn't actually break into being problems, like the summer protests, on the Conservative government? One year? Three years? Ten years?

It’s very easy to ask questions about disabling the car etc after the event sitting in a tv studio. The officers have a split second to decide. This guy was a gangster and as luck would have it, he won’t be around in the future to cause more criminality.

She keeps repeating that it’s irrelevant as the officer didn’t know about Kaba. Like some big “Gotcha”. But what she fails to understand is, that the evidence of his previous crimes, shows why Kaba acted the way he did. He knew that he was in for a very stiff sentence if caught. That’s why he had no intention of stopping.

Have any of these TV types ever looked at some of the police shootings in the USA? Have they ever heard the expression "mag dump"? Do they think that windscreens allow a bullet to pass through without being deflected? Why don't they put an expert on firearms on the programme to put this whole thing in perspective. One shot fired in these circumstances is as controlled and careful as you can get. The fact that the policeman and his family were put at risk by the judge's decision to make his name public was crass and don't forget, the judge made it in the full knowledge of this gangster''s record. And the whole trial ran to around 2 years, while this policeman's life was on hold Imagine the stress ! Unforgivable.

A rifle firing 5.56 cannot "disable" a car, at least not without dumping the entire magazine into the engine block.
As for the head shot, that could have happened for a few reasons. Kaba could have been crouching down behind the wheel to try and block himself from behind hit.
The windshield is at an angle, the actual projectile of a 5.56 isn't flat or round tipped like that or a handgun round (9mm for example) so the chance of it tilting up upon impact is high, leading to a chest shot becoming a head shot.
Kaba tried to ram through, you can tell from the reaction time of the officer that he didn't exactly take time to properly aim his shot, just a rough aim in the chest region which was then paired with a moving vehicle, which in of itself could have skewed his aim enough to become a head shot.
In future, get firearms experts not people who haven't seen a firearm in their life outside of movies.
