This is my first retro handheld device and i gotta say, for the price i paid, im pretty over the moon. I get all its shortcomings like the buttons not feeling the best, not the greatest performance. But god damn has this device got me seriously interested in this scene.
@@aurustius Ah yeah, i couldnt remember who it was, i feel like i also saw someone else do it, but just cannot think who. I will probably be trying to do it soon to see how it feels personally
i gotta be honest they can send my equipment in a paper bag as long as it runs and feels great because i'm never going to use that packaging 😂
love your content!
This device is so special I want to buy it and unbox it again.
Just ordered mine for £23 all in, can’t wait
I'm a new sub , great videos
3:47 that's what she said *big laughing crowd intensifies*
Do you know how to leave a game and go back to the menu?
Amazing for the price. However I feel the best is yet to come. I think later in 2024 we'll see one of these ultra budgets with enough chipset performance to do N64/Dreamcast smoothly and perhaps even Gamecube properly. It is a teeeeeeny bit short of that but I think we're 12 months away tops from a model with a few of the R36S issued resolved and say 50 percent more performance for sub $50. Then I'm in. The XU-10 is very close with better memory than the R36S but still not quite there.
How long does it take to boot?
I got this and i enjoy it more than my anbernic 405v. The anbernic is awful top heavy and clunky. I love how this can do so much for how cheap it is and how light it is.
Its really one of my favorite devices
i actually saw the R36s scrolling through ali express the other day, and wondered if the analog sticks would be uncomfortable after playing for an hour or so where theres nothing for your palm to rest on. Playing Ps2 games in that form factor would be super cool too.
They're definitely awkwardly placed. But they're usable
wait, mine didn't game with a game card in the TF2 slot. wtf did yours???
Gotta sharpen that overkill knife 😂
Looks pretty good so far
How to play with friends pls tell me with vd pls 😢
Does yours come with n64 games
Decided to pull the trigger on this a couple of days ago. Will you be covering the R36s / ArkOS like you did the RG35XX?
I am thinking about it. I just flashed my own system. The process is a little more annoying. Also I got boxart added manually since this thing doesn't have wifi.
@@JaviPlayRetro I’m new to retro gaming and this handheld seems like a good starting point. Would love to see some tutorials of how you did this if you can!
Brilliant javi
Hi anyone done videos M18 hand heald yet
I recently bought the Orange one, and quickly sold it. I recorded some materials for it, and got rid of it. Yeah, its not bad for the price, but there was just so many things i disliked about it. The triggers in the back were a no-no for me! So freaking loud they are and ugly af. The placement of the joysticks being so far out is also something i didnt like about it. Nintendo 64 emulation is not there yet either. Only a few games run at 100%, the dpad and buttons are also terrible. The ABXY buttons are smaller than usual buttons, and for me, they just feel off. Dont even get me started on the dpad. That thing was ass too. The best thing about this device is the screen. That is forsure a great screen at this price. I cannot say anything bad about that. But when you compare this to the XU10, the build quality on that thing blows this out the water. And i also got that device for sub $50 bucks. Sorry, but i cannot recommend this device unless you are really struggling or getting it as a gift for someone. Not a daily, id recommend the XU10 instead.
I'll see If I pick one of those up. I knew coming into this that some of the buttons weren't great. So far, I like a few things about it, namely the screen, the speaker, dpad I actually find okay, I like the size of it too like it fits in my hands, also the feel of the plastic is actually good for $40 and of course ArkOS.
But action buttons are tiny, shoulder button sounds are horrendous. Joysticks are awkward. No Wi-Fi built in is annoying (its says wifi on the box). Also, what's up with the e-waste sticker?!?!! Game Consoie ?
Hey does XU10 have custom firmware yet? Because I really dont like the stock
@JaviPlayRetro yes it does bro. And it's a simple drag and drop type of switch on it. I picked it up from TechDweeb review on it. He has the link to it. Super simple bro.
Which one? AmberElec?
@@JaviPlayRetro yeah I believe it'd that one. Works just like ArkOS.
Please play stardew valley
You saw I got Stardew Valley on RGB30 free?

It looks good on paper but the games that actually need the analogs, like n64 (full fledged) or ps2 emulation, the power just isn't there.
Also i know the price is cheap, but the design is stupid ugly.
