I like how you never say he stopped working at the scrapyard though.
“Oh look, there’s Victor, with his new piston rod leg. What a character!”
Nice work!
Honestly, using a plasma or oxy torch to cut things can be really...REALLY fun. It gives you a feeling of power, especially when you first do it. But ultimately, destruction is destruction.
Hmmm, maybe that's how Victor felt too then??
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I like destruction
Interesting, I didn't thought that you would make a backstory for The Scrap Man.
Thank you!! It's something I've wanted to do for ages! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
As a railway enthusiast and horror fan I absolutely loved this. An imaginative and creative story with plenty of creep factor that builds nicely throughout. I also loved your delivery of the narration! such a great video Sam!
haha awesome Michael, really glad you liked it!! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
same
Of course in the Thomas and Friends Universe, the Scrapman was killed in a battle against the Fat Controller, who of course was protecting his engines. Great Job Sam!
SamsTrains and SCP was not a crossover I expected, but it is one I think works surprisingly well.
The artwork is quite impressive, very realistic story as well. Love how this turns into a heartwarming adoption story, you're so kind Sam. 😊
Thank you very much - haha appreciate it! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
It's either a heart-warming adoption story... Or assimilation...
fantastic work on the artwork and on this story that not only explain why you have a biomechanical severed head in your closet, but is also a great nod to classic horror stories.
Thanks very much Damien - haha it's a good explanation isn't it?!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Nice story, and original too ! I'm usually not into the fantastic genre, but your little snippet here is well done, imaginative, and full in line with the rest of your works. Happy Halloween Sam !
Thanks a lot Oliver, really glad you liked it! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
That has to be the coolest (and a little bit creepy) story that you have ever told Sam. You did a good job of it and I loved watching it and I do hope you do a brand new Christmas version this year for December.
This was harrowing and moving storytelling with a great plot and a very gripping tone. Awesome use of visuals and sounds! This was great!
haha thank you! Glad you liked it all :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
You'd think the Scrapman and the diesels would be allies...but fate had other plans.
There's quite a few gems in this production. From the out of focus, paper bag (as a previous commenter wrote) head through the Bohemian Rhapsody lighting of our host to my favourite.
The best horror stories have moments of humour in them to give the viewer a fleeting second in which to breathe. The best bit of this psycho-steam-punk, riff on those weirdo biohackers who have chips sewn into their nervous system, is 3:30 the diesel driver shrugging his shoulders with perfectly posed arms and hands.
Not gonna lie, the end made my heartrate a bit jumpy. good story, not too scary and not too bland.
Ayo! Scrapman lore. Very interesting how he came to be and why he looks like a paper bag with eyes lol
haha thanks a lot David!! ;D
That was great Sam, truly loved that!
Than you so much!! :D
Poor Scrapman.
Nice work Sam.
All of the artwork looks like it was AI generated, and I quite like it because it adds an eerie but intriguing affect. Good job!
haha thank you! It wasn't AI generated but it does have that creepy/unreal look!! xD
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I really liked this from the start of the video. Great work!
What class was the diesel that ran down the scrapman?
IDK,probably a class 08
It was a Dapol class 29!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Class 22 rather
I concede that MODERN machines CAN feel rather emotionless, but steam locomotives, while admittedly still metal contraptions, have a sort of individuality to them. Each one was built with drive, passion, and heart, and each one has its own quirks and quips, each one has its own unique personality. two steam engines can share the exact same design, but they will each have different temperaments, each performing slightly differently from the other, because like all things in nature, neither one can ever be exactly the same as the other.
Same thing with old cars. I've worked with plenty of them and let me tell you, they let you know when they're upset with you lol
@@thundercreekcustoms That's... KIND OF what I'm saying. Old machines, made by hand with care & attention, have a personality to them. Some take longer to wake, others groan about idling, each one is different from every other. There are always little imperfections in the metal, variations in the wood grain, subtle differences in the way each component was molded, forged, and assembled that make machines that are outwardly identical perform in visibly different ways. Every machine that was built by hand has it's own unique personality.
I was not expecting that! Great work as always Sam!
Thank you!!! Glad you enjoyed it,
Happy Halloween - Sam! :)
Thoroughly enjoyed this, my hat is off to you Sam.
I finally got my pumpkin wagon today. Just in time for Halloween. It looks really good Sam. Keep up the great work.
If the model railway work dries up, Sam, then you have a definite future in creepy fiction. You're really good at it. If you want to read some incredibly creepy stories about railways, etc., then may I recommend 'Sleep No More', by the canal and railway enthusiast, L.T.C. Rolt. Every tale a dark gem.
The Scrap Man's origin reminded me of the equally horrid Karl Ruprecht Kroenen, from the first 'Hellboy' movie. A mad scientist who worked on himself, and ran on clockwork - the key was where his heart had been, and he was so ancient, his blood had turned to dust in his veins.
Sam could have his own 4Chan /X/ Greentext Channel. Lots of good horror stories about Subway Systems, Railways and Soviet Metros.
Happy Halloween !! This is a good clip, with very good artwork. Your best Halloween railway story, if you ask me.
there is no reason not to love this channel that was freaking amazing
Super, I nearly wet my pampers. Loved the video, will scare my co-workers off team chats. That’ll teach them to interrupt my viewing of Sams trains. Lol. Superb video Sam. Wooooohoooo😂
Nice one. All hail the scrapman!
Brillant very well done , also had some strange and ghostly experiences when working for British rail at Brighton .
I really enjoyed this! Very creative!
This is very entertaining Sam! I really enjoyed watching this!!
Well done on the story. Very interesting how you blend everything together to create a believable tale.
I worry about you Sam... But out of interest, at least one locomotive has gone to the scrapyard after an important component disappeared overnight... The class 58 engine test bed 47901 had a unique component from it's braking system disappear overnight. The cost to have this component re-manufactured and replaced was sufficient for this loco - only about a year and half out of an overhaul if I remember correctly - to be withdrawn and sent for component recovery, being scrapped at Doncaster.
Really great video, compelling story and scary ending!
I was kinda hoping that the engine that would destroy the scrapman was one of the very engines he dismantled, a steam locomotive (kinda like a bit of karma from it saying "You killed my kind, now you'll pay the price") but a diesel, that would have been something he didn't expect.
Unsung hero of a Class 22 running into the Scrapman and ending the rein of destruction
That's great! I spent the Halloween night servicing a French Jouef tank engine with an extremely perverse pick-up layout and my thoughts did run to the Evil Scrapman on more than one occasion! So now I know his origin. Cheers!
Thanks very much - ahh that sounds like a great Halloween activity!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I never knew that you'd actually do this. This was fantastic
Wow that impressive story by the scrap man! Fantastic artwork bit creepy 😮 love it Sam. Ultimately, destruction is destruction. Happy Halloween to you 🎃 karl
LOL 😂 I guess we better beware if tomorrow we see Sam with model steam engine parts glued to himself!
Oops we missed it since we were out (no Halloween here), but now at least we know how the Evil Scrapman came to be, lol. Well done production Sam.
Ahh sorry to hear that - but yes, glad you liked the backstory! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Every night, when the moon gives light
The Scrapman's ghost is seen.
He walks the track, a sack on his back
And his earhole painted green...
I once boarded a train out of Paddington late at night, and I could swear the wheels were outside the tracks.
Oooh that's creepy - just for Halloween! :O
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Wow Sam. Your Tone of voice with the music made it very creepy. Great vid
Lovely little horror story you made with how the Scrapman came to be.
Thank you!! :D
Bro this could be turned into an analogue horror series so easily. It would be so cool.
W-wow. That WAS indeed very scary and intriguing. But, I have one question:
In a Salvage or Scrap video, you couldn't repair a Diesel in time, and you fed it to the scrap man. Why would you feed IT? Why give it what IT needs to survive?
I did a deal with the scrapman. I wanted a new series for my UA-cam channel, and he imparted the idea to me. In return, he gets the locos if I fail. Now you understand why the stakes are so high.
From a signalman to a T180 - impressive!
Victor, eh...? Sounds like a familiar story to something I read in English class...
Anyway, great video - Happy Halloween Sam!
You need to do this every year for halloween, something like this. Some sort of horror story. This was really awesome!
Good video Sam, a very interesting story.
Thanks so much David! :D
This was a good horror story I have been wanting to hear about trains, thanks sam
Excellent Sam!
Truly you are quite the mad lad great video sam happy Halloween 🎃 🤪
haha cheers Logan, appreciate it!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
The Sam’s Trains Lore is deep.
Average all knowing time-o-matic vs average evil scrap man
Very spooky video sam
Happy Halloween 🎃
Thanks so much Justin! :D
Happy Halloween,
Sam :)
I absolutely love this story. Victor must’ve felt so powerful scrapping engines, but it ultimately led to “its” death.
Fun video, and it's cool to see you flesh something out that's ultimately a dumb gat that's only been used once so far. That being said, it makes me wonder if the mental damage done is reversible to any capacity.
Hi sam i hope you're ok
Great video and a very intresting back story of the scrap man
Hope you are too Lewis - appreciate it my friend!
Happy Halloween,
Sam :)
very different style video, i really enjoyed this
LOL great one Sam!
Very spoopy yet great storytelling
I dig these holiday specials good job sam
haha thank you so much!! :D
Happy Halloween,
Sam :)
3:26 Damn that’s brutal!
haha!
Wonderful story. I'm not scared of it. Try every trick in the book if you want, but your ghost stories won't ever frighten me out of my wits. This might frighten you.
Ghost Train in the Loft
Sam admits he gets scared of my model ghost train requests. One night, something caused a creepy disturbance in the loft of Sam's home. Trying to sleep under a cozy blanket, Sam himself tossed and turned wildly for ten minutes. The strange noise above him woke him up. Brrrr!
Sensing something was happening in the loft, a shaking-with-fear Sam got up and out of bed. He picked up his trusty torch and turned on its powerful light. Clad in his pjs and dressing gown, the young man slowly made his way towards the ladder. It was a spine-tingling moment or two before he plucked up courage, and climbed up into the blackness of the loft. He pressed the light switch. Nothing happened.
"W-what's g-going on?" he stuttered in a whisper. A grey saddle tank engine was running along the railway like magic. Sam wanted to scream but no sound came out of his mouth. His blood froze to ice. He stood where he was, frozen with fright. He'd been scared before, but not so terrified as he was now. His widened eyes shone with fear, his mouth open with horror. Suddenly, he woke up.
"AAAAH!" Sam looked around. He'd fallen asleep in broad daylight, while reading a Minecraft Handbook. Breathing a sigh of relief, he went about playing with trains. He vowed never to create ghost train stories again. Broome Manor couldn't blame him and neither can I.😱👻
Awesome video today Sam really like the way you made the video
Thanks so much James, glad you liked it! :D
Happy Halloween - Sam! :)
Sam. have a look at the Planet Indfustrial's Kerr, Stuart models Rails are selling. I bought two. A grey loco and a ROD (yes it's black!). They ran really well at slow speeds straight out of the box, before running in and are geared not be be like racing cars at full speed. At £130 they are cheap too! I really like mine. However, I am easily pleased :)
Nice love the vid
Is it based on a real story???
Gee! This is scary. I love the idea of sentient living metal beings. But not humans who transform themselves into awful psychopaths who do awful things like this.
My good I love this! Well done Sam! 🤗
hi sam. great Halloween story. a cross of jack the ripper and Frankenstein..well composed and told..
haha thanks very much - glad you liked it! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Brilliant, thanks Sam :)
We need more chilling tales such as this, even if it isn't Halloween
i was thinking about asking about the origin of the scrap man, or should i say Victor schlomberg. it's interesting to see the story behind this little mechanical man that lives in a cabinet and maybe be a villain in a Christmas special
Well now you know! And he may feature in December in some way!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Sam’s best Halloween story
A HORROR STORY? FROM SAMS TRAINS?!?! NOW I HAVE SEEN EVRYTHING
This sounds like Tetsuo: The Iron Man.
Very spooky Sam :) happy Halloween 🚂🎃
Thanks a lot Paul,
Happy Halloween - Sam! :)
@@SamsTrains your welcome :)
So basically, if you cannot restore a salvage or scrap contender, the scrap man will start to grow his ligaments back, until eventually… well, perhaps we shouldn’t think of it, I shudder at the prospect…
And now we know, Long live the Scrapman
AMAZING! Sorry if I'm late, but this looks like a good horror story to explain who the Scrapman really is! - Sid
Thanks very much Sid! :D
@@SamsTrains No problem man! - Sid
This is terrifying! If the Scrapman only used steam locomotive parts before, can he use diesel and model parts to repair himself now?
Hey I got a question, when are you going to do another salvaged or scrap episode since last episode, there was one loco left which was a GWR panner tank engine
Hmmmmmmmmmm... Very interesting
Happy Halloween!
Fun video for Halloween.
I think quite a few people were curious about the back story or origin story of the Scrapman.
Or me at least wondering its back story and inspiration.
Amazing story sam’s trains
0:53 bro looks like a Fnaf charecter with the white dot eye 😂😂😂😂
Kinda bummed I didn't get to hear him hum his iconic tune of "Well I'm the scrap...maaan~"
Had me on the edge of my seat, mate!
haha sorry about that! Happy Halloween - Sam! :)
this is amazing
Sam, how did you create the scrapman from your series Salvage Or Scrap because I really do not know any of it.
It really is just made of junk parts... though the mechanism is a bit more modern now!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Love it!!!
I'm not going to lie.....that was kind of a dope little backstory to the scrap man....
Victor really went full ad-mech
I'm already scared
Happy Halloween!
Ooops sorry!! ;D
Hi Sam sorry for not being active on this channel much but what BR steam locos do you recommend because I’m looking to buy one but what I’m saying is like in br livery on a southern loco (that what used as a example) thanks
That's okay my friend, glad to see you back! Ahh there are so many, I'd recommend taking a look at some of my BR reviews!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
@@SamsTrains The consumate professional, sir!
That's the best example of the usually cringe - making "As I write in my new book..." I shall have to borrow it if I may.
Many thanks for your efforts which are unnervingly consistently top banana and often enlightening too: how have I got this deep into my allotted span without hearing of a clack valve?
Cooooooool!
Not having a space in the title though kinda makes me think of a locomotive purposely designed to be a piece of garbage though.
"Leaks and explodes more than any other-- GUARANTEED!
Pulls less than HALF IT'S OWN WEIGHT AT NO MORE THAN .001 MILES PER HOUR AND ONLY WHEN THE WIND BLOWS!!
Costs triple the amount of any other!
It's the all new Scrapman 7200, by D-Rail!"
Sam goes film noir with Viktor Klackett... You could remake Battleship Potemkin or Nosferatu like this 😂
