@@BigLadHelliti Aye, it did. For the first time in almost 30 years! And it took most of our power grid down with it. I was without power or heat for 3 days, huddled under 8 layers of blankets so I wouldn't freeze to death. And I was one of the lucky ones!
I get it, it sounds absurd, losing our shit over 3 inches of snow. But when your infrastructure, your housing/apartment construction, your society and psychology is designed around "It never snows here", 3 inches of white stuff can and did bring us to our knees.
Imagine if Britain were hit by a 100 degree Fahrenheit heat wave for a week straight? Y'all have thick brick construction, most houses don't have air con. You'd be suffering as much as we were, and we would send you our most sincere care and consolations.

    Some ideas for you sam!
    - Use lipo batteries to power a model train[ preferebly steam loco]
    - Make a franken-locomotive using mix matched parts from a bunch of different engines,( it has to be a steam locomotive, so you can mix match external and internal parts)
    - Make a locomotive do a loop-de-loop on a stretch of track.
    - Construct a propper out door layout.
    - When its winter, put a snow plow on a locomotive and have it go through the snow( or use baking flower) and see how big of a "snow" drift it can go through.
    - Put a model rocket on a peice of rolling stock, and attempt to beat your scale speed record.
    - somehow, make a stretch of track that goes verticle, and somehow make the locomotive go up a wall (try using magnets, or use strings)
Keep up the good work! I love the experiments, theyre quite entertaining. If you could find time to make a video out of any of these it would make my year.

Person interviewing Sam from the 100k celebration: Sam, what did you do during COVID and lockdown?
Sam: Well I froze a model locomotive, had a diesel pull the skin off a rice pudding
Interviewer: Why did we interview this man again
All the ideas you have on your channel are unique! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for a fun video Sam.
The reason you had difficulty getting the locomotive up and running is due to the ice that was built up on the wheels, so there was no proper electrical connection from the engine to the rails. When you got the ice scraped off the wheels by and pushed the locomotive onto the rails, the connection came back and it ran.
It is true that the oil gets stiffer the colder it is, but that should not prevent the locomotive from running.

All good fun! Many years ago I modified a Lima 33 to a 27 and added snow ploughs. One winter I left it out in the garden on a length of track and it became buried in about three inches of snow,. When I applied power, the locomotive pushed its way out of the snow with no problems.

This frozen loco experiment would be of considerable interest to a Texan currently if they had electricity of course...
Sam my dear you need to make a rice pudding from scratch! Pudding rice and channel island milk with a little grated
nutmeg and baked in an oven not a vitamin destroying michaelwave. The skin thus cooked should be Golden and
light brown and of surprising strength. The skin on my Mothers RP was so good I used to beg Mum and Dad for
their share! Not only was it good it was very firmly attached, not just to mum and dads pudding bowls but to the Rice
underneath. I have nothing against tinned rice pudding and I have eaten it cold when camping, goes down nice after
corned beef and a side tin of Macaroni cheese? Love the Experiments!
