@@ZaneBastian The alien propulsion glitch was a great catch. I'm pretty sure Drongo missed the proxy ram parking lot on purpose to make the reveal more dramatic.
As drongo says,the bombard feels really underpowered and useless late game..yeah totally my experience aswell... Sure springalds do tickle damage against it and one bombard can take out like half a dozen of them with some micro. Sure bombards are thrice as good vs infantry/archers compared to mangonels,on top of beeing better at destroying buildings and siege faster than every other unit in the game. Sure bombards are also objectively the most supply efficent highest value units in the game(they are so good infact that making any siege unit that's not a bombard in imperial is just objectively wrong). Sure if a french knight and an english man at arm had a crossbreed child named "iron chad",that fucker still wont be half as tanky and tought to snipe as the great bombard. Sure in a big fight a single bombard usually can kill 30+ supply worth of infantry just in 2 shots. Sure you can out range every possible composition a non ottoman oponent can make,eventually forcing them to try springalds,only to find out that springalds are most deffinetly not the counter to bombards. Sure once you have 5+ bombards they are great at dealing with buildings,ships,siege,archers,infantry,villagers and even cavalry,but aslong as you dont use those particular things,you should be fine,just get creative. So...yeah they are very useless...I mean they cant even fly....yet....hopefully next patch we ll finaly get flying bombards, fingers crossed!

Definitely didn't lose because of "unconventional ottoman strategy" the different feudal landmark doesn't change a whole lot for the enemy because both of them are just eco landmarks and isn't a different strategy regardless of which one you use Sure the proxy was a little weird but I don't think it got a lot done except MAYBE it distracted him which caused the villager loss If we could point to one single thing that started the downfall of Beasty in this game was the fight he chose at 16:44 which was a pretty devastating trade for Beasty and then he had a bunch of villagers that fell at 19:10
@JunglingFist I was more referring to the barracks opening as well as the trade landmark. 90% of ottoman games I see military school opening then medrese or age up with medrese into double military schools.
He was always terrible at Rus which is why he always complains how OP the civ is. Fact is the civ is average and it is definitely his weakest civ by far.
Sipahi is just no longer p/p unit but it is good overall. The problem is not great bombard, springald meta is a bit broken but it is fun to watch back and forth micros
The GB effect isn't always in the damage it dishes out (even though it melts buildings). I find it's the investment needed into a counter once there are 3 or more. Springalds are expensive and easily taken out. It is often a huge investment to take out the GB mass, by which time your opponent has 2 extra freebies strolling towards your base. If they don't get you the first time, they will the 2nd or 3rd
Sooooo good to see Beasty lose on Rus. This guy has been complaining how OP Rus is all year more than ANY player, without any given reasons, and it was always blatant just how terrible he is at the civ anyways and likes it less than any other civ. Rus just really isn't as strong as players say it is. Maps are big and it is very simple to move around the kremlin when needed.
Can someone explain to me why rus are considered the best civ? i played them and they seems reeeealy bad in terms of economy and they also have a really annoying scout system. They have some good features and troops but i mean every civ has it.
Kremlin means eco wise they can play like the English - doesn't give much in the way of direct eco bonus (besides 20% wood boost, also nice) but gives you enough defense to basically always go 2-3 TCs without the enemy punishing. Plus the gold from cabins (up to 750 per min with max bounty I think), no need for getting gold in age 1 with villagers thanks to the scouts, the food gathering bonus from bounty, etc. And then you get the military strengths like the knights (in age 2 as well), horsemen, horse archers, streltsy. Extra wood means you can spam archers with ease. Warrior monks and age 4 landmark also a huge buff if you can use them. Rus have a lot going for them. And this isn't considering water maps where they reign supreme
Yeah I mean I felt like that when I started playing aoe 4 and somewhere along the lines they became my main civ in ranked. For me the benefits are: -no vils on gold until well into feudal age due to income from hunting. -I have multiple scouts as a result of the above and can see what my opponent is doing while also having another scout available to join a raid or track his military/ villagers. - because I don’t need gold in the dark age I can be mining stone during my age up and can have a second tc down around the 5:20 mark of the game, before even the French can be on my doorstep. -I can build minimal army in feudal and fend off some pretty hardcore aggression with a few knights, some archers and my gremlins while getting castle at the same time. - they have the strongest hand cannon in the game with a melee attack that does 50 (edit…60!!)damage when you get too close. To make them even more op the are 90 food and 90 gold. I still don’t get how this is balanced and I rush imperial most games just to use them asap. -at 500 bounty my hunting cabins are basically a villager on gold each for free in an average position (against a rounded forest) There are some other things but my favorite way to fight with them is have a mass of cheap mangos (high armory) that you just park your streltsy on top of. That combo will fuck some serious shit up in imperial pretty much by themselves, but adding a few sprinalds and knights to the mix gives you an extremely strong army comp… I might even say the strongest in the game There’s a reason I am currently 21-2 in platinum ranked with rus.
I hate how aoe4 allows for lost game to drag on for this long. There should be a way from a player to close it out sooner .. The win conditions need to be tighter design wise Hate playing against players with denial issues
