According to the rule, Wam should have won this game. Consolation points can be awarded to Beasty depending on admin's consideration but the game continues, and with 1 player remaining Wam take the win. Rules are made because of cases like this.
is there a reason why civs, especially the byzantines dump very heavy into longbowmen despite them being shit mid to late game for them? Like pretty much every civ either specs really hard into heavy horsemen/infantry or are the english and would outclass their bowmen anyways, I understand its olive oil as a side product of food production but it just seems smarter to save your olive oil for age 4 strelsi or compenstate the lack of spears with lansknecht to serve as a stop gap buffer and focus on ageing up as soon as possible (be that pulling vills off food for other production areas, or saving your food by not buying spearmen and just olive oil units to fill the gap so you can quickly age up) it seems so many players with a fighting chance that just face a big enemy army that they know is their threat blow all their food on basic units that are still age 3 instead of trying to hit an age up to at least make the enemy player pause if not have enough time to get critical upgrades so you arent completely outclassed dps wise by the enemy army. Byzantines especially considering they can sell olive oil so a market would be worth it due to your good units being so gold hungry, idk maybe im just monday morning quarterbacking but I see so many games where a player for byzantines especially decides to pump out 4 more batches of age 3 longbowmen when they are facing down men at arms or heavy cav instead of trying to sell into a quicker imp and or buying cataphracts or varangians to try to hold the tide. With how little damage they do I always cringe when I see a dude surrounded by imp players still pumping out longbows and just get run over as they only kill 1 unit a volley and the front line of melee is way too thin to support such low kps
Selling oil for fast imp means you have no resources when you hit imp. Takes way too long to make any use of the age up. You will just die. Look at marine lord this game. He had better eco and could have lived but puppy killed him because he aged up with no units.

honestly this year i stopped watching the octagon after making the mistake of reading all angry comments under the video. They took the fun of the tournament out of me. Really, you all should start enjoying this as a fun tournament. All these angry comments are horrible to read. I mean, look at t90s community's cup: it's a for-fun tournament where all kind of bullshit happens. It's pros and community players, so ofc communication is important. But I've never seen the toxic drama that i see under aussie's OO video. EDIT: also, AoE2 tbh is more enjoyable in diplomatic matches cause the viewers can always see the chat and they have a damn reconnect. It's insane that AoE4 doesn't have any of those 2 features.

This is all your doing Drongo: out of 50 games or so Beasty wins one game and gets 15 points in finals and with this lucky spawns secures the first place. The scoring rules needs to be changed especially for the sacred site victory which let Beasty get 15 points in the last game. Why would it matter if you are passive defending or active defending (attacking and killing other players), a win should get at most 8 points, plus kills (through sacred site or through military)
Crash stinks..... 99% chance of victory and POOF... gone, No matter WHAT the you do SOMEONE is going to be upset.. but yea.. maby wam has 10% chance for one overwhelming push after deleting the vils but at that point hes got so much production, the relics.. keeps.. like it was a very long shot.
