As an American expat who retired to Cambodia and living here 2 years already, Cambodia is FAR from being an “American magnet” because I see and have met MANY international travelers and fellow-retirees from other countries. Cambodia has something to offer everyone, not just Americans.

Many desirable and quite nice things in Cambodia - cost of living in particular. -- However not especially enjoyable when your sweating all the time and burning up ! -- An old retired person like myself desires 'comfort' - and many months of the year Cambodia just doesn't appear to have that ? - - - A ''deal breaker" for me I'm afraid. Simply can't enjoy all those nice things the country has to offer when I'm in misery from the heat ? -- Such a shame - cause I really do like everything else about the place. -- Well - almost. Not fond of the idea to not be able to flush toilet paper ! -- Or taking off my shoes so often. ( ? ) So when you add needing a shower all the time...... it's just too much discomfort for an old fart.

Very few go to live there
The majority of the world are NOT American. Comparing Cambodia on price is pointless. A waste of time with inaccurate content.
