I was surprised how nice Cambodia is when we traveled there about 3 weeks ago. Khmer people are wonderful and Cities of Phnom Penh and Siam Reap are wonderful. It is not the dump and podophile heaven that the western media makes it out to be.
Only dump and podophile would say that about Cambodia, because even the Cambodian government mouth piece's themselves reported not counting the Chinese and all the neighboring countries reporting on the topic. The top Chinese movie at the moment is about Cambodia called " last bet " the movie is about criminals activity such as pedo, drugs heaven, kidnapping etc, I am Cambodian and I know the type that come to live in Cambodia, 99.9% are those podo as you put it and all kind of criminals activity, Cambodia is a heaven for criminals
Cambodia is underrated, love their people and foods, we hopefully would love to see Laos and Myanmar will developed and modern soon - Love from Beijing, China.
the word underrated is like mud and some people are addicted to hurling mud at things. underrated is such a dirty word and people who could barely speak English are so adducted to it. Cambodia is much too popular to be called underrated.

@elmirafavela3463 What is call centre gange, you mean fraud? South East Asia is rife with Chinese fraud, but you should be safe unless you are involved with the Chinese mafia or their online scams. Thailand has many incidents of mass shootings, suicide bombings, tourist rapes, and violence against visitors. You won’t see these problems in Cambodia.
I have been there many times, just came 5 months ago and plan to back. I bought my daughter with me for the first time to visit Cambodia and she love it and asked me to extend our vacation. Siem Reap & Kampot are cheaper than PP the Capital. Expats living there report a comfortable life for as low as $800/mo. -- not $1250. - - - My favorite place from half way around the world w/o ever having been there - yet. Low cost of living friendly English speaking people good food and visa ease for expats over 55 is amazing ! My wife and I went to Cambodia in 2022 and spent time in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Both had some very cool places to see, but we definitely enjoyed our time in Siem Reap much more. We're looking at Malaysia for retirement actually (through the SMM2H visa), but our trip to Cambodia was definitely one of our best yet...and would absolutely not mind living in Siem Reap :) We stayed at the Royal Crown Hotel and Spa in Siem Reap. The staff there was amazingly friendly, and we had a tuk tuk driver that was associated with the hotel that took tremendously great care of us.
My family I visited Cambodia twice and we loved it enjoy every moment of it. We didn’t stay long in Phnom Penh, we spent most of our time at Seim Reap, Kosh Kong, Kampot and Kosh Rong Sonlam Island. I have to say that Kosh Rong Island was the most amazing place amazing paradise pure white sand beaches crystal clear beaches breathtaking. And Seim Reap is a magnificent magical place on earth. Cambodia is nice. I spent a month in Siem Reap in2023. The Khmer people are nice and friendly. The temples (Angkor Wat & others) are amazing ! I’m hoping more people visit the kingdom so that Cambodia can be “on the map” of places that are a “must see”.
It's quite nice the way it is for the expats who live there ? Too crowded and inflation are not desirable for those people. Many who actually live there love it like it is !

I've lived here for over 17 years, and first off - I have met in all these years exactly ZERO westerners who want to move here because of the temples - you see them once, then you're done. They may move here to open businesses in Siem Reap that will cater to tourists going to see the temples, but they're not something one regularly goes to see. Cambodia is very affordable, but don't overlook the people, for many years Cambodians have been voted the friendliest people in the world. I love the people and the culture. The fact that it's so affordable is a bonus. I live on a budget of $800 a month including my health insurance. And for your yearly checkups everything is available at very reasonable prices. A lot of hospitals offer deals on packages for a checkup including doctor fees, blood tests, x-rays, ultrasounds, MRIs etc. for from $250-$500+ ❤❤

Unfortunately, Sihanoukville has been ruined by Chinese developers. It has been leased to China for 99 years to serve as Special Economic Zone. Chinese investors flocked in and began constructing high rise buildings for use as hotel-casinos, then boom! Covid 19 broke out in 2020 and they returned to China never to come back leaving behind unfinished buildings as eye sores. Western tourists failed to return. As a matter of fact, wherever Chinese congregate, Western tourists tend to stay away. Sihanoukville will never be the same again.
Sad but true. The Cambodian government is focused on resolving this issue of Chinese ghost buildings, which includes many unfinished High rises in Phnom Pen. 😥
Having been to Cambodia eight times I used to love staying in Sihanoukville... no more though. It has been devastated by the Chinese mafia and it's landscape disfigured by monstrous and ugly "development".

Cambodia still has a long way to go! Healthcare is a concern, Thailand has state of the art healthcare and highly qualified doctors and nurses to take care, I’ve been sick and had to go to one. Transportation is tough no MRT or subway to get around, too dependent on Tuk Tuk. The sanitation still is not great but I give Cambodia props as 15 yrs ago it was far less developed. Thailand has had political instability throughout its history but nothing to the level that Cambodia went through. However, the obvious is that Cambodia still has a long way to go that’s all. It will get there but with such a small population they need a bit more help. Education should be a priority to up the middle class and bring people out of poverty. With more middle class means more spending power and knowledge to help the country grow too. Plus diversification of tourism and not so focus on Angkor as the main attraction as most people will likely just go once, you want people to keep coming back for other things. hard to imagine how the Cambodians survived continuous carpet bombing during the war & agent orange and the genocide by the khmer rouge and the land mines that are still a threat today claiming lives and causing terrible injuries ....talk about a peoples resilience
Yeah, very tragic. Henry Kissinger who just died at the ripe old age of 100 lied to the American people by not telling about the US bombing of Cambodia. That guy had a lot of blood on his hands from what he did in Chile and other places too.
The reasons why people are moving to Cambodia is are because of the followings: 1. Affordability: food, accommodation & transportation and everything is available . 2. Culture: rich, ancient and unique 3. People: friendliness, kindness, politeness and respect for foreigners and elderly 4. Visa & regulations: the world easiest, just go to agent and you get things done. 5. Landscape: Angkor Wat $ other 8000+ temples - to Phnom Penh (bustling capital city, and Sihanouk Ville), beaches (pristine and white af) to laid back town (Kampot, Kep & Battambang) to natural landscape in the northeast. 6. Integration: Cambodia is one of easiest to integrate or blend into. 7. Languages: Everyone speak basic/communicative English. People also speak Chinese. National language is Khmer. 8. Business & Growth: Cambodia is one of the world fastest growing economies, and it is very easy to start a business. 9. Cheap Labor: you actually can have a house maid for just $250 monthly.
Fortunately the long running leadership is doing a good job developing the country. Although the short romance with China has left lingering scars across the landscape and with it's people. Development is moving in the right direct. 👍
Study hard bro... To develop country and economy growth as Cambodian we must study harder... because we suffer much from the war. And humans resources we can't build it just 5 minutes or 10 minutes it's take about 10 to 15 year to have a capacity to complete with neighboring countries
This is very misleading. As someone currently living in Phnom Penh the past year, jobs don’t pay well here so you have to look outside the country and hustle online, there aren’t many westerners under 45 here and not much to do if you looking for a well rounded lifestyle, $1250 in monthly expenses doesn’t get you travel and entertainment and savings, and there’s no health insurance you can pay into. The people are lovely, but that’s not going to give you a good quality of life. Fitness and gyms are no where near the level they are in Bangkok, transportation with tuk tuks adds up but PP is too small for an MRT. On the Peace Index Cambodia actually ranks 73 globally, England is 37 and Canada is 11…that’s not really a selling point lol It’s insanely expensive to ship anything into Cambodia and difficult to find things westerns need. I like it here a lot, but without a lot of money you feel isolated. I feel like I’m missing out on life in some ways here and if you are business driven and creative, this really isn’t the place long-term. But it’s still an experience and a different way of life worth seeing, but let’s be clear, it’s cheaper here than a western country, but not cheap. Bangkok is actually cheaper for day to day living, just the visas there can add up to more and a headache long term.

been living here for three years.. here are some observations as an expat people are mostly very friendly, respectful, and nice, but it doesn't hurt to be careful food is mostly delicious and affordable (compared to developed countries) easier to process papers than neighboring countries proper hygiene is not commonly observed in the streets (street food, street cleanliness, etc.) drainage system is bad, flooding during rainy season, lack of proper drainage /sewage, etc.
healthcare is not the best and can be expensive! before moving here, DO YOUR RESEARCH and keep in mind Cambodia is a very beautiful country with lovely people, but it is still a developing country. also, your behavior as tourists/expats affects the way locals live, behave and treat other tourists, or expats.. please be respectful 🙏
I am Cambodian, for me living in Cambodia my own country is less than 400$ a month include renting house, foods and consumption. But not including travel.
Been living in South Est Asia since 2013 and been in Cambodia for the last 4 years. As a women, I'd say life here is quite safe and easy. Coming from the unsafe streets of Paris, I feel a lot more at ease going out at night here. Obviously, I always stay careful but I definitely don't feel uncomfortable when going out here as I used to in Paris. One interesting thing to note is that compared to Ho Chi Minh and Bangkok, Phnom Penh is actually a little more expensive. I lived in HCMC for 5 years before Cambodia and go back often. For whatever reason, although PP is less developed, it is more expensive than its neighbours. My friends have noticed it too and I have met many tourists who also noticed it. Same for rent. I guess it depends on people's tastes and perspective but I'd say that if you want an actually nice apartment in Phnom Penh and be in the city centre or not far, you'll have to spend over $500. For $600, you can get quite a nice place in a decent condo that would probably be 50-60 sqm. For the same price in Bangkok, you can get a REALLY nice apartment in the city center in a very luxurious condo. A friend of mine moved there not long ago so we were looking at places together and you can get much nicer apartments in BKK for the same price than you can get in PP. He got an apartment in Sathon for $600 in a crazy luxurious condo. There isn't a single condo in PP yet that could rival with the one he lives at in BKK. If you are content with just a functional little apartment, then you can get one for as cheap as $250 a month. I hope that Phnom Penh doesn't follow in Bangkok footsteps when it comes to sexual tourism. There are already enough girly bars here and I hope they don't turn them into a massive attraction like Bangkok does. Absolutely filthy. Today, Cambodia really needs to focus on embellishing Phnom Penh (a couple of parks and green spaces wouldn't hurt), bringing more entertainment, diving deep into recovering their culture (they lost a lot during the genocide) and bringing back authenticity and an identity to the country overall (most villages or provinces don't really have any charm or appeal).

While in Ancient times, farmers was last classes in civilized society (except, slaves) THATS WHY IN CULTURES REVOLUTION (both, Vietnam & China) have revolution treatment farmers like well respect & well deserve!! GORVEMENT SPEND PROFESSORS TEAMS GO TO EVERY CITY, EVERY TOWN, EVERY VILLAGES TO TEACH THEM ANOUT GROWING RICE & FOODS BETTER. Use technology & use experience of farmers to create the best way to make it. It was first base on how VIETNAM FARMERS GROWING RAPIDLY & HAVE ALOTS EXPERIENCE EVEN OUR COUNTRY IS STILL POOR AT THST TIMES!! I’m not racist & not look down on INDONESIA & PHILIPPINE!! But these country is bigger than Vietnam 3 size, independent long before Vietnam & trade with US & the world long before Vietnam. While after Vietnam win & US lost they’re leaving & PUNISH VIETNAM, SANCTIONING VIETNAM FOR 2,5 DECADES!! We just open freely trade & bussiness with the world in early 1980s!! It take only more than 3 DECADES to become like this today It same for Philippine, salary is less if compare to Vietnam. But foods & DAILY FOODS IS SAME PRICE OR EVEN EXPENSIVE THAN VIETNAM!! While both Indonesia & Philippine is beautiful country!! They’re have bless by God & Earth, beautiful nature landscape & nice weather (expect fews areas have forms every year lolz) sunshine all year long, jungles, moutain, river & inner waters resources, long cost island & beautiful tropical island!! Mostly SOUTHEAST ASIA IS BLESS BY GREAT NATURAL LANDCAPE & TROPICAL WEATHER ❤❤❤ Now, Philippines don’t even have enough rice to eat. They’re import rice from Vietnam. Not because Vietnam have more farmers than Pinoys, no!! Because for same small field but Vietnam can harvest at least 2 times more products of compare to them!! This not even counts, in last 15y ago till now, VIETNAM LOST MANY RICE FIELDS BECAUSE OF 2 REASON, DEVOLVED FAST, FARMERS SOLD RICE FIELDS LANDS & ANOTHER REASON IS MORE YOUNGFUL VIETNAMESE IS HIGH EDUCATION CLASS THAN THEIR FARMERS PARENTS & MOVE TO CITY TO STUDY IN UNIVERSITY L, WORKING IN COMPANIES OR RUNNING THEIR OWN BUSSINESS OR FREELANCE!! Pig farms, chicken farms, duck farms, eggs farms, fish farms, shrimps farms, etc… mega farms running by company. Middle & small farms running by normal farmers. It produced trillion tons production each month!! That’s why you see in VIETNAM, poor ppl even throwing left foods away because it cheap & affordable & foods everywhere!! Poor ppl here is suffering alots too, but mostly poor ppl here mean have no house & they’re living broken & old, tiny rents house, have no car, no luxury stuffs,etc.. but for foods, they’re never worried about foods!! Cheapest rice (hard & not soft & not have strong fragrance) is 10-12.000vnd/kilogram (it mean 4,95$/10kilo bag of rice) it cheap!!
Middle class, rich people in Cambodia go to Vietnam or Thailand (depend if they’re close to border Thai or Viet) for medical treatment Alots CAMBODIA OFFICIAL WORKERS GO TO TREATMENT IN CHO RAY HOSPITAL & HCM MEDICAL UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL!! Vietnam even help Cambodia by running Cho Ray hospital in PP, but some special still need to go to Vietnam to have full & huge & difference processes done by top medical professors And every years Vietnam gorvement & university have free education for Cambodia & Laos students, mostly is medical student. Because beside of foods, everyone have sick in their life times!! So medical is very important & that’s why our country help them have more professional doctors so they can running & build their own medical system to help their own people!! But sadly in Cambodia alots of fake news they’re brainwashed Youngful generation bloody racist hateful Vietnam. Vietnam was help them kill RED KHMER POLPOT & saving a whole country from genocide. Now they say VIETNAM INVASION THEM, US MEDIA IS DIRTY. They’re spend moneys on these foundation & every years they’re running fails information to brainwashed Cambodian. Alots old Cambodia who get help from Vietnam soldiers & military is saw it by eyes, their whole village was get kill, rape kid rape women, chopped head & throwing head in ground use as ball for fun, after rape women theyre slit her tummy alive in front of their family’s, burn whole villages alive to dead. There are many villagers was lucky enough to run away & survive. They’re even fight & help Vietnam soldiers. But these people mostly is villa& minorities tribes, alots of them is old & dead. So they’re WITNESSES PEOPLE ALIVE & IF THESE GENERATION IS OLD, DEAD. There is no one stole the truth story for younger Cambodia. Vietnam keep move ahead, even US - used to wars crimes & BLOODY VIOLENT & INHUMANE TO VIETNAMESE IN WARS. Nowadays they get treat good in Vietnam & Vietnam have no problems with American for what their wars crimes monger did in the past!! But in Cambodia they’re still hold strong hate & blame on Vietnam. Because of hateful mindset & fail infor & fake news, it held down them lacking behind, it sad. Till today Cam still have problems with Thai & Viet when both country is move ahead well but only Cam is still lacking in the past behind of mindset & fails news brainwashed
Did you know Vietnam imports a significant amount of farm produce from Cambodia? Vietnam's fresh water is of poor quality due extensive pesticide use. This makes Vietnam's farmed products less desirable for export. Even the drinking water is in danger. The primary focus by the Vietnamese government is the fresh produce market and extensive use of pesticides by it's farmers. No one to blame but themselves. 😥
@@truthtalkinternational Mostly Vietnam export products from Cambodia and Laos is wooden raw materials to manufacture & produce. Because Vietnam lost alots jungle in French colonial & US wars times !! And Vietnam itself destroy our own jungles at well - IT RISK OF GETTING DEVELOPED!! Everyone want electricity all day all night, where electricity come from?? From sky?? In 1990-00s to have more electricity not just to self used but the most importantly is IT FOR MANUFACTURERS COMPANY & EARN INVESTMENT!! No company & no huge manufacturers invest throwing hundred thousands dollars in place if they not even have enough electricity powered to running their companies & electricity prices is high. SO, IN 90-00 & even till now, TO HAVE ENOUGH ELECTRICITY & WELL PRICE WE VIETNAMESE ARE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT UT THE ONLY WAY TO GET ENOUGH CHEAP & AFFORDABLE POWER PRICE!! This is why today, Indo & Philippines have not enormous power & electricity price is too expensive for invest. They’re not even have enough power for their ppl, ppl in rural still lacking of having electricity in rural island. Put aside of foreigners investment or manufacturers companies. Second, no matter how poor country, it normal if they still can EXPORT SOME AGRICULTURE PRODUCTS!! So I know & believe Vietnam import some Cambodia & Laos & Myanmar products as well. Mr.ĐUC (he own HOANG ANH GIA LAI ESTATE COMPANY & football clubs. In 15Y ago he rent huge amounts of lands in border Cambodia & Vietnam just to growing wooden production & growing fruits farms, meat farms). Or bamboo products were not have enough & import it from Cambodia, Laos & China. But it mean nothing, just small amounts. And these products CANT CONSIDER AS DAILY FOODS. I hope this help. I’m not deny Vietnam have import alots stuff & Vietnam also export alots. No single country don’t do that Even poor & crazy country like NORTH KOREAN CAN PRODUCTION SOME POINTS & EXPORTS RAW MATERIAL AS COALS. Myanmar export alots wooden & jungle products & raw diamonds & gemstones too. China is buy alots raws gemstone from Myanmar, because in China gemstone was used in thoundsand years & it not just about jewelry but about lucky, energy, ying&yang cultural beliefs.

Very interesting video, and amazing to hear about how developed and modernized it has become, as I went there back in 1995 with the Semester at Sea program, on a small plane flight from Vietnam, when it had just emerged from Pol Pot rule...will never forget the Genocide Museum where I got a stomach upset and had to pay $1 to get a toilet, or the beggars with sad eyes, or all the people with limbs lost due to landmines. I've spent most of my adult life in Asia teaching English and volunteering with NGOs (10 years in Sri Lanka, 2 years in India, 2 years in Malaysia, 10 years in Thailand, a few months each in Nepal and Myanmar)...now back in the U.S. for a brief interval due to passport and visa problems in Thailand...maybe Cambodia will be my next country. Wish this video would touch on work and volunteer opportunities in the country...is NGO and teaching work still easy to get here?

I've lived here for over 17 years, and first off - I have met in all these years exactly ZERO westerners who want to move here because of the temples - you see them once, then you're done. They may move here to open businesses in Siem Reap that will cater to tourists going to see the temples, but they're not something one regularly goes to see. The fact that it's so affordable is a bonus. I live on a budget of $800 a month including my health insurance. Health care has improved dramatically over the years, but still if you need any serious health care like major surgery, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore are only an hour away.

I think the place to retire is South East Asia, particularly Cambodia, less population, not crowded. The cost f living is reasonably cheap, people are kind, and friendly. What more can you ask for?
Great summary of the country. I plan to retire in the Kingdom of Wonder.
Don't forget Canadians we are moving there as well . Because our government keeps charging us more to live in Canada.
Welcome 🌹
Do Canadians enjoy CAmbodia's very hot and humid climate?
@@fjidfdfjd2459 Yes it’s humid in SE Asia.
The list of humid countries in the region are:
Philippines 🇵🇭, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia and the Philippines 🇵🇭
😉
@@truthtalkinternational but does it take them much longer to adjust? Southeast Asians who were raised there but have been living years/decades in the US or in other western countries will often complain about the heat when visiting the "motherland."
@@fjidfdfjd2459 westerners from northern areas or European countries will definitely feel the steamy heat of SE Asia.
But in the US there are some hot and humid States, like Florida for example. 👍🏻
Cambodia's allure is clear! Affordable living attracts retirees. Insightful video on retirement planning abroad.

Underrated country indeed. People think it bad due to bad publicity in the past 20 years. Now it catching up with the modern world. Surprisingly, it is quite safe compared to Asian countries. I feel like their government doesn’t promote their country enough. They should learn from Thailand.
They really shouldn't promote their country. It's fine as it is. Stay where you are.
@@glidkomerwhy? is there a specific reason to this or you’re just being ignorant and selfish
Also I think they need diversification in their travel industry… using Angkor as their only what we can offer you isn’t going to cut it. You can live cheap in Battambang and Siemreab for way less than $1200.
When a White European go to other countries. They are welcome but when a refugees go to Europe they spews HATE. TO HELL WITH WHITES.. we should also do the same in every countries
you have to remember during the civil war, all professors, teachers, and doctors were wiped because they were a threat to the evil political party, hence why the country is still affected
You are comparing to a 100year of peace and 23 year of stable politics lol
@@eattrip6973 I’m just stating the obvious btwn these countries not comparing who is better than who, it’s what it is. Like why do people keep going to NYC definitely not to keep seeing the Statue of Liberty every time. Kinda like that! Hope for the best!
@@eattrip6973Look at how fast South Korea grew for example. It was in the same situation like Cambodia a few decades ago and now one of the most develop countries in the world. I think rampant corruption in Cambodia hinders major progress in all fields.

One thing people forgot to mention about Cambodia.
They will *NEVER* accept USD bills in bad conditions. It has to be perfectly clean and brand new.
No matter how much money you have. They will not accept it, if it’s folded, dirty, wrinkled or a bit discolored.
A Khmer woman saved my life, and for that I'm eternally grateful, but new arrivals need to go in with their eyes open. Cambodia is a very long way from Western notions of 'paradise', even if the corrupt Hun Sen regime might wish you to believe otherwise.

hard to imagine how the Cambodians survived continuous carpet bombing during the war & agent orange and the genocide by the khmer rouge and the land mines that are still a threat today claiming lives and causing terrible injuries ....talk about a peoples resilience
Yeah, very tragic. Henry Kissinger who just died at the ripe old age of 100 lied to the American people by not telling about the US bombing of Cambodia. That guy had a lot of blood on his hands from what he did in Chile and other places too.

The reasons why people are moving to Cambodia is are because of the followings:
1. Affordability: food, accommodation & transportation and everything is available .
2. Culture: rich, ancient and unique
3. People: friendliness, kindness, politeness and respect for foreigners and elderly
As a Cambodian living in Cambodia, I can't fully agree with the economy and the stability of politics part.
Fortunately the long running leadership is doing a good job developing the country. Although the short romance with China has left lingering scars across the landscape and with it's people. Development is moving in the right direct. 👍
The new prime minister should govern nicely for the next decade or two.
Study hard bro... To develop country and economy growth as Cambodian we must study harder... because we suffer much from the war. And humans resources we can't build it just 5 minutes or 10 minutes it's take about 10 to 15 year to have a capacity to complete with neighboring countries
Agreed, Cambodia is a great country for retirees
These are reasons people should stay where they are because everything that glitters ain't gold.
Revisited Cambodia after almost 6 years - impressive transformation!

who made this video? when was the last time you were in Sihanoukville? ? I was there in May 2023, the place is now an interesting location for Sci Fi Futuristic movies, Blade Runner, Mad Max etc! So many so many unfinished gigantic concrete monsters ! the beach is still beautiful! But I wonder what will happen in the future ...but hey they actually have the best roads there ! :) and you can easily go to Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samloem..every time you want !
So, really, the answer is about fifteen seconds in length, but you gotta make a video long enough to fit three advertisements into it, so cheers on the extra info which isn't about the title of the video. Content is content hehe.
been living here for three years.. here are some observations as an expat
people are mostly very friendly, respectful, and nice, but it doesn't hurt to be careful
food is mostly delicious and affordable (compared to developed countries)
easier to process papers than neighboring countries
proper hygiene is not commonly observed
in the streets (street food, street cleanliness, etc.)
drainage system is bad, flooding during rainy season, lack of proper drainage /sewage, etc.
healthcare is not the best and can be expensive!
before moving here, DO YOUR RESEARCH
and keep in mind Cambodia is a very beautiful country with lovely people, but it is still a developing country.
also, your behavior as tourists/expats affects the way locals live, behave and treat other tourists, or expats.. please be respectful 🙏
I am Cambodian, for me living in Cambodia my own country is less than 400$ a month include renting house, foods and consumption. But not including travel.

Welcome to Cambodia @everyone the land with smiles. thank you for the video
Im Vietnamese, THE MORE UNDER DEVOLVEPING (kinda extreme poor) the more expensive!!
LOOK AT AFRICA, A TRUCK FOR AGRICULTURE CAN UP TO 50-60.000 $. For normal truck type not HUGE ASS & MODERN VERSION!!
A bag of rice of 5kilogram in alots Africa country can be around 7-8$/5kg, the baddest rice type (not Jasmine rice or soft rice)
Before when I was young adult I don’t understand this, but growing up & experience I know it.
THEYRE NOT JUST LACKING AT GROWING FOODS (agriculture) but also because of LACKING INFRASTRUCTURE.
Simple example like this
1) a villages growing veggies & when they’re harvest, some stuffs sold in locals markets. The more product left will bring to city to sold it because it huge markets.
But from their villages to downtown then to city it’s muddy dirt roads everywhere!! It take alots times & energy & more cost to get in next villages & to city.
Only big city have good infrastructure, out side of CITY, IT MUDDY ROADS & LACKING BRIDGES.
Second, VIETNAMESE not just have THOUNDSAND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE GROWING RICE, they’re knowing how to growing various type.
Last, IN VIETNAM IN REVOLUTION CULTURES (WESTERN USE TO CALL IT AS COMMUNIST) GORVEMENT FOCUS ON FARMERS & FARMERS IN VIETNAM IS BECOME IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN COUNTRY!!
Vietnam after wars is broken ass hell, poor & don’t even have enough rice to eat after bombs destroy rice fields & bridges & infrastructure!!
GORVEMENT RUNNING NATION PROJECT & CLAIM FARMERS IS IMPORTANT CLASS PEOPLE JUST LIKE EDUCATION (doctors, teachers, engineers,etc..)
BECAUSE NO MATTER HOW SMART OR DEVOLVED YOU ARE, IF YOU ARE HUNGRY YOU CANT DO SHIT!!
While in Ancient times, farmers was last classes in civilized society (except, slaves)
THATS WHY IN CULTURES REVOLUTION (both, Vietnam & China) have revolution treatment farmers like well respect & well deserve!!
It take only more than 3 DECADES to become like this today
It same for Philippine, salary is less if compare to Vietnam.
Mostly SOUTHEAST ASIA IS BLESS BY GREAT NATURAL LANDCAPE & TROPICAL WEATHER ❤❤❤
Now, Philippines don’t even have enough rice to eat.
Middle class, rich people in Cambodia go to Vietnam or Thailand (depend if they’re close to border Thai or Viet) for medical treatment
Alots CAMBODIA OFFICIAL WORKERS GO TO TREATMENT IN CHO RAY HOSPITAL & HCM MEDICAL UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL!!
Vietnam even help Cambodia by running Cho Ray hospital in PP, but some special still need to go to Vietnam to have full & huge & difference processes done by top medical professors
And every years Vietnam gorvement & university have free education for Cambodia & Laos students, mostly is medical student.
@@truthtalkinternational
Mostly Vietnam export products from Cambodia and Laos is wooden raw materials to manufacture & produce.
No single country don’t do that
Even poor & crazy country like NORTH KOREAN CAN PRODUCTION SOME POINTS & EXPORTS RAW MATERIAL AS COALS.
Myanmar export alots wooden & jungle products & raw diamonds & gemstones too.
China is buy alots raws gemstone from Myanmar, because in China gemstone was used in thoundsand years & it not just about jewelry but about lucky, energy, ying&yang cultural beliefs.

When you’re poor as shit & under devolveping & not have enough foods to eat.
All you care is not about clean organic stuffs but ALOTS FOODS TO EAT & AFFORD PRICES!!
Check out numbers of export from Cambo to Vietnam you will see how small amounts export from Cambodia.
We not blame anyone, we know TO EARN DEVOLVED WE HAVE ONLY WAY IS SQUEEZE & CUTTING OURSELF.
Others SOUTHEAST ASIAN KEEP MOANING THIS BUT THEYRE KINDA RELIGIOUS PEOPLE, NOT BUSSINES PEOPLE!!
You want organic but cheap price, you want plenty of foods but not must be organic, you want devolved but not destroy jungle to build powers dam. You want everything to enjoy & devolved but not want give up anything!!
Vietnam every years export alots rice to Africa, Singapore, US, Middle Muslim country as well.
Vietnam use to be top 3 country with India, Thailand & Vietnam in 1990-00s exports most rice for AFRICA.
Vietnam exports cheapest rice for Africa besides of bussiness it about HUMANITY & FRIENDSHIP!!
You can go to gg to checking numbers facts though 1990-2000 areas. When rice products get higher but rice exports to Africa poor countries GET CONTROL BY VIETNAM GORVEMENT TO NOT RAISE PRICES!!
Last, in 20y till now we send many TOP EXPERIENCE & SUCCESSFUL RICE FAMERS & AGRICULTURE PROFFESOR GO TO AFRICA COUNTRY & SHARE EXPERIENCE TEACH BLACK AFRICAN FARMERS TO GROWING RICE. Some successful some fails because weather there is hardly & not enough water for rice.
But there are fews country successful growing rice fields.
So welcome all friends in the world to visit the Kingdom of Wonder, Cambodia my country ❤❤❤

The answer is easy: The U.S. is simply too unaffordable for most people these days.
You are such a great researcher here! ❤ ❤
