Hi, my Yahoo account doesn't have anything under "account security" except the words "How you sign in" (not clickable/link). It is an old "SBCglobal.net" address from before Yahoo bought SBC, but it is considered a Yahoo address, eg I can login from Yahoo mail. What's even more frustrating is that I know I went through this process on my old laptop (getting the 0x9019019a error) & was eventually able to fix it & add the account to the windows mail app - BUT I can't remember how. Also, I get the error message before it adds the address, so I can't/don't need to go through the step of deleting that account. I've also tried adding it as an "other" account - it adds it but then throws up an alert icon saying that the account "needs attention". I'm 100% sure that I'm entering the password correctly, and I'm logged into my SBC account on Edge. I'd be very grateful for any suggestions, thanks so much!

Fwiw tho, I'm phasing out that email account because tech support (at Amazon) told me that the email account was probably why my credit card, PayPal, Amazon & other $-related accounts have been hacked over the past few years - because the security on the email is so poor, hackers were able to get into the accounts that I had associated with that address (even as a secondary address). So I switched all my $-linked accounts to my Gmail address & (knock wood!) haven't had an issue since. So I'm just phasing out the sbcglobal.net account entirely. Good luck, sorry I couldn't be more help.

Yes, great instruction. Unfortunately it doesn't work with my Window Mobile Telefon. I am able to generate the passwort on my pc (not on my mobile Telephone), but then when I write it in my mobile telefon as described, it doesn't work. No syncronisation of emails ... Two weeks ago, everything was working fine untill I had to reset my mobile telefon. May be you would kindly be able to help me. Thank you

Ah, one more thing, after linking one of my yahoo accounts the way you mentioned, I linked my other yahoo account normally, like I use to do, without logging to it and creating this third party extra password, does this make sense pal.
AarohanTechSol: what if i decide o clean out my PC computer like Reinstall windows 10, will i Have to Use The Generate App Password again? that Password you copy-paste that's not my default main password right? This just happens today with yahoo first time even with yahoo, use to always happen only with Outlook. well hopefully it works for me, i deleted the account and even changed the password, in chrome browser, and went back in windows 10 mail reactivated the yahoo account and worked but got the same error, but now i will try ur way'll update this in few days see if all went well Thank you.

While it's a work around from what it should be YES it works and a better solution that Microsoft can't solve on their own
