Short answer is they don’t have specifications. But these are for all ages of children so I think everything works. Little quilts for little kids bigger quilt for bigger kids. I’ll confirm with Steve to be sure
THANK YOU!!! There is a chapter local to me and my family group of quilters will be making and donating quilts in the new year. I’m going to have my teenage granddaughters help me pick out fabric for quilts for the older kids.
Thank you. I found a chapter in my hometown in Pensacola that I will be working with. Where were places like this 38 years ago when me and my child were sleeping on the floor. My heart is full of emotion right now. What an easy way to pass on my many quilts that I have made and now need a home. I am going to finish all of my UFO”s and bless them to a child in need. ❤😊
It is wonderful to hear about your plans! I am so glad you found a way to connect. I wish these resources had been available to you. I am glad you can be part of helping others.
I am so glad you enjoyed it! 😊. I know we have such giving hearts in our quilting community and the needs are so great. If I can help spread the word even a little I must!
I had no idea. Thank you so much. I do charity, care quilts and QOV etc. it just brought tears. Thank you so much for all you are doing. I am sharing this with my quilt friends
We have a local chapter here in the town I live in! That's great news! I currently donate quilts to Hand of Hope (a pregnancy counseling center), Elder Care and Ship Outreach which has a transition home for trafficked women. I will add this organization to my list. I usually donate 15-20 quilts a year. Thanks Amy for bringing this to your followers!!
@@amydement. I live to sew for charity - I truly do, it fills my heart and it's the happiest sewing I've ever done in all the decades of sewing I have done. I'm blessed to be able to do it too, so I have to pass it on :)
Our church has a day of service every fall. This year Sleep in Heavenly peace came and we made beds and collected sheets and comforters and quilts. It was amazing how easy it was to make a difference. This is an amazing organization. Thanks for spreading the word!
SO fun to see you mention this. I donate quilt tops to them, and the Dayton Sewing Collaborative finishes them and returns them to Sleep in Heavenly Peace. This weekend the Dayton branch built 78 beds.
I became interested in this group from a Mike Row video. I did not realize that I could donate quilts. I am adding them to my list for 2025 quilts. I feel so strongly about this. Thank you so much, Amy for posting about this!
Amy, thank you for bringing this information to us! I plan on looking into this organization in the Phoenix metropolitan area where I live! I donate quilts and afghans to the NICU where my daughter works but this segment touched my heart! I appreciate the information! The statistics are unbelievable and so heartbreaking at the same time! ❤
What a wonderful organization. I'm going to bring this up at our next meeting. There must be a local chapter as we are in one of the poorest counties in Florida. I'm already aware of two teenage boys that need beds and am working on resolving their situation.
@amydement. A Senior missionary couple gave us a wonderful idea. They checked for the lowest ranked adult facility and adopted it. We are working on fulfilling some of their needs like walker bags, shawls, lap robes and shirt protectors (adult bibs). We're looking to brighten their days. Sometimes it's just fun to work on small projects, too. My 2025 goal is to dedicate 4 hours a day on charity projects. That doesn't include weekends and my cruising time. 🤣
Amy, could you explain what a teen age boy or girl quilt designs should be? Is it the same patterns as for an adult, but in more modern colors? The organization stresses this but not clear on what is relevant for this age group.
What a wonderful charity but the fact that it’s needed at all breaks my heart. It’s even worse when I think of the wealth in Texas, where to many of these multibillion dollar companies the cost of 500 beds wouldn’t even be noticed.
I didn’t find anything about quilt sizes Amy. Please help me find more information. I looked at all the sites you put on your post! Thanks in advance.
Good question! I'll make a note to address that in my next video!

A twin size quilt is preferred. Quilts must be quiilted not tied.
Hard to believe the need is so great. Very happy to see there is a chapter near me.
It is heartbreaking but so inspiring at the same time! Thank you!

I’m so glad you’re going to be involved! That’s so awesome! And what a great idea to have your teens help choose. ♥️♥️♥️
Oh my goodness. Thank you for the awareness
You are so welcome ♥️♥️♥️

Wow you had me crying! And I have to say I am so proud of my San Antonio community for this. Thank you for sharing this.
It is amazing what we can do when we come together to help others. San Antonio is doing amazing things. ♥️♥️♥️

I love you’re getting the information out there. There are so many needs.
Thank you. Yes. There are so many needs and if i can help even a little I want to try.

This is awesome! I found a chapter in my community! I sent an email for them to contact me.
That's fantastic! They'll be so glad to hear from you.
Our Ptoject Linus here in southwest Idaho makes twin size quilts for Sleep In Heavenly Peace. Great partnership!
Thank you for this video.❤
You're welcome, and thank you for watching!
I watched that Mike Rowe episode. Powerful.
♥️♥️♥️
I shared this 😊
Thank you!!!
We have a chapter that serves the Green Bay, Wisconsin area. I know this as some men from our church are involved as volunteers.
That's so great! Thank you for sharing and for spreading love!💕

I think that’s exactly it - fun but not cutesy with Dinosaurs and princesses?? I’ll chat more about it in tomorrows vlog.
