Every year, my family shares a box of See's Candies chocolates. We look forward to this box of chocolates all year. I bake so many different cookies so this is the one holiday treat I don't make but get to enjoy. Amy, I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday and new year ahead. ❤
That's so sweet. Thank you so much! 😊. There’s a see’s candy shop right down the road. When we’re feeling ‘extra’ we’ll stop in for our free piece of chocolate and a small treat.
My favorite Christmas treat is Baklava, a middle eastern pastry of crushed nuts and honey layered inside phyllo dough and cut into triangles, extra points if it was made by a Greek Orthodox Christian Grandma.
Amy your videos make me feel like we are chatting in my room. I found myself nodding in agreement to alot of your what your sewing practices are. Then I saw your awesome 1.5 inch block box. I got giddy. Called my husband over to see your box. 😂 I proved I am not the only one! My box is not as big as yours...yet...but it is so nice to be validated. My favourite Christmas treat is hard to pick. I think it has to be speculaas cookies. My husband family were Dutch immigrants. They always bought the cookies but I got a recipe from an Anglican minister and have been making rolled cookies with his recipe. We make all kinds of Christmas shapes but our family makes Christmas pigs and Pillsbury dough boy shaped cookies too. Pigs because I loved pigs as a kid and the dough boys because it makes one of our friends very happy. Favourite tea is Chai always. Love the smell and taste. Your channel is so appealing due to your chatting nature, beautiful smile and friendly fun attitude of life! You do make others lives more beautiful! Oops I commented before the non cookie treat. Has to be what we call Christmas Crack. Premium plus crackers covered with a carmal from brow sugar and chocolate . Just can't stop eating it.
My favorite candy treat is Hilliards Toffee Crunch and my favorite baked treat are my late nana’s strudel, coffee cake, and sugar cookie recipes. I don’t know why I don’t enjoy these things throughout the year but it does make Christmas more special. ❤
I love Chrusciki, a Polish pastry also known as angle wings. My mom made them at Christmas and they are super labor intensive. I haven’t had them since I lost her. Maybe next year I will try them myself.
Yes. I agree. $20 for a blade is painful if you nick on the ruler. I have felt guilty using the inexpensive blades, but they work great. I will no longer feel guilty. Thank you. The tea sounds yummy. Even your under desk “shame” is so organized. It was fun to spend time with you today.
I totally agree with you about rotary blades. I buy the generic titanium blades. I love that kids fabric. I heard the hippopotamus Christmas song yesterday for the first time. Tablet is my favourite sweet treat. It’s a Scottish sweet a bit like fudge but harder and it melts in your mouth. It’s not specifically a Christmas treat but I always make some at Christmas. My other favourite is Thorntons special toffee. Again it’s really bad for your teeth but delicious.
Oh yes me too. The one person who said it was on repeat at their work during the holidays - that might drive me to drink but it’s fun to hear just once in a while 😜
I am going to miss just listening to you chat to us about what you are working on…. LOVE it..that is ALOT of squares very envious.. The best rotary blades are by LDH a Canadian company- often on sale and they are truly awesome. They make amazing scissors too. I will definitely making cards for hostess gifts. I make some pretty wicked caramilk fudge, but Pavlov with whip cream and fresh fruit is my favourite desert! YOU are AMAZING
I love a good dark chocolate orange, the kind of chocolate that is shaped like an orange that you hit on the drain board to split it into orange shaped slices. This is traditional for our Christmas stockings.
Thanks for all your great videos! Our favorite treats are homemade caramel and Christmas Pie (a pineapple cream kind of pie). We do also like dipped peanut butter cracker, someone always seem to bring them.

I also want to make 2 more for my siblings , so it needs to be easy. What pattern would you suggest? I have been looking but nothing is making me happy. PS: I am loving your volgmas!!!
I like tea especially in cold New York winters. I made use of some fleece scraps today, made both my daughter in law’s fleece seats for watching their boys football games. Now I need to make one for me I don’t like the cold outdoor bleachers either. I have a new favorite treat that I just discovered coconut cream candies (thanks to a you tube video). The recipe made 50 of them my husband and I are in chocolate covered coconut heaven!
I buy those small cutting mats from dollar tree and use them for trimming blocks and half square pieces. I love using them to keep from wearing out my big mat. I buy those rotary blades too.
I’m not a big sweets fan, but a piece of peanut butter fudge every few days can make me smile. My hubby make all kinda of candy this time of year. His peanut brittle and toffee are to die for 😊
Hello Beautiful! Just made a cuppa tea (lemon ginger) before bed and your video popped up.🎉 What size are you trimming your HST’s? I save random cut off triangles and stitch them randomly to the corners of 3” square then sew them into four patches that sort of look like stars. Each one unique. All of my neighbors are Amish and they often make the Georgia crackers but they don’t have any name for them. We love crème brûlée or chocolate mousse for Christmas dessert. Love the chat. See you tomorrow. Now wait a minute, you have not used up a glue stick until you use a popsicle stick or your stiletto to get in there and dig out every last smear of it!😂❤
You are way too funny 🤣 I so enjoy watching you. My favorite treat is peppermint bark, but my favorite to make and give is my butter caramel popcorn with peanuts. I adapted an old caramel corn recipe to make a buttery, salty version similar to Fiddle Faddle. My kids loved it.
The autotoolhome are the brand of blades I use from Amazon too. I love them -60 mm are about 17-20 bucks for 10 at least over the last month when I looked. 45 mm are more like $10-12. My favorite holiday treats are really all cookies but I love candy cane/peppermint ice cream, but I haven’t seen it for the last couple of years-I guess I need to make some….
Oh my goodness.those squares are so tiny. I save and use scraps but those LITTLE ones go away. Glad you can do that. I am old and I wouldn’t live long enough to o use it.
AMA -- I loved your purple hair, in part because my hair won't hold color. I'm aware that it's hard on your hair to color it frequently. Is that why you stopped doing purple? Will you do purple again?
Hi Amy, people know I use recycled fabrics and I have a friend that works in a charity shop and she passes cotton that’s not good to sell to me and today I went to a craft club meeting and two people gave me pieces of cotton clothing that they were not using any more. I never refuse anything. Have a lovely Christmas. X
I have to list 2 things for my favorite sweet treat. My mom was a great candy maker. She made the most devine Divinity candy. It was so light and airy. I loved it. But I am not the candy maker my mother was. I haven't had any Divinity since she passed more than 20 years ago. My second favorite sweet treat is pecan pie. I make homemade pie crust, and I have a family recipe that has been passed down. Nobody makes pecan pie that's as good as mine, so I have to make 2 pies to make sure I get my fill. And it has to have an extra large dollop of genuine whipped cream. It's all homemade at my house! Have a great Christmas !!♥️
It took a while but I am finally ok making quilts (and other things) for myself just because I want to. You shouldn't feel guilty keeping your creations. Favorite sweet treat all year round - open a full or mostly full jar of peanut butter and sprinkle in dark chocolate chips; eat with spoon. I also like to melt butter, chocolate chips, and peanut butter together to make a kind of ganache/frosting for graham crackers or granola bars (because granola is good for you). Favorite thing for a special treat - Place regular Oreos in a cereal bowl, add milk eat with spoon I saved from first favorite.
I looked up creative reuse and found a place in the Phoenix area! It didn’t have the selection but was very cool! I’ve even donated items to the location!❤
I hit my ruler with my blade, too - but I never hesitate to change a blade because, after getting some "off" brands from Amazon, I came to the same conclusion you did. Now I usually order the Headley Tools blades (my favorite ruler also is from Headley).
My mom would make dozens of different candies for Christmas (as well as many cookies and pies) I am not as ambitious or as skilled as she was...but I do make super tasty chewy caramels and sweet potato cheesecake...and I eat them throught December
I have a bunch of glue sticks. I get them when they are on sale for school supplies in August. Oh that bin of tiny hst's, I have a similar bin waiting for me to trim them! LOL
Goodmorning Amy, I love a cranberry bread( with chocolate chips if we have them). Oooh yummmm. Grocery list: cranberries 😊. Cleaning up may not seem exciting but for me it clears my mindset and also I find all kinds of cool stuff I've forgotten all about. A new shiny sharp rotary blade, aaaaahhhhh ❤
Love all the colors in your sewing room 🥰 my grma made cherry flavored peanut divinity, But my Absolute Favorite is Penoche Fudge . Never makes it out of the pan 😂😂😂
