Idk the 9th edition rulebook had loads of grimdark art that had style to it i dont think thats true for all the art. Maybe not alot of people actually get rulebooks and they get everything second hand. Look at the mechanics codex art for instance but I think the 9th edition rulebook is best example.
True. In the span of time that conversation took between these people, the mechanicus could’ve completed thousands of work cycles. They……..don’t have the patience to deal with the weakness of flesh.
October 24th, 1987. The last day of a 4 year tour of duty with the Marines. It's 5 o'clock in the morning and I'm at LAX waiting on a flight after a long night of heavy drinking with a lot of friends and heading back to Oregon. I stopped by some bookstore looking for something to entertain me on the flight home. That's when I discovered Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader. It felt like that game was made just for me. I still have that old book, held together with tape on the binding. One of these days, I really should go through and photograph and document my 40K Oldhammer collection.
I grew up with the earliest Warhammer Fantasy and 40K. It spoiled me and I still have all my original warbands and armies. I keep swearing I'll be buried with them instead of allowing some undeserving relative to inherit them. ^^ *Thanks for an awesome video Warrior Tier* Have fun everyone
Make a will and specify that they go to a non-family member who plays or collects 40k and will appreciate them. That's what I've done, even though my mother had been badgering me for years to make a will to specify how much money I'm leaving to my nieces/nephews... but that just didn't seem as important or urgent for some reason.
How old are you? I will gladly inherit them from you ..to safeguard until I find another who's younger and just as dedicated in looking after them and furthering their legacy
Throne be damned, this is a great subversion of Lufgt Huron's backstory, i think.. i havent actually read up on the guy, but the mysteriousness of the Tzeenchian entity, how terrifying the old art is, and again, the twist of the story, this is great storytelling, along with every voice actor including yourself!
I was enthralled by the art work the whole time. The 80´s and early 90´s art was just something else. Great narration by everyone, so well done and put together! Awesome job!
That was terrific! Vintage 40K art coupled with an audio drama. You don´t see much of this nowadays. It´s like a time machine back to the 80s. More of it would be appreciated. Subscribed.
I would love to see some more of this darker, stranger material come back into modern 40K. The way all of the marine's armor looks like cast iron, the hatching of the art giving somewhat of a scratchy feel, and the undercurrents of everybody understanding humanity has failed while still fighting is an intriguing aesthetic
Look upon the Grim Darkness of the Far future, There are no Primaris marines, the Emperor's Primarch Sons are long gone. There is no hope here. This is a Nightmare world.
@@WarriorTier That's what i miss the most. The hopelessness, the feeling of the world being a nightmare it's denizens cannot wake up from. Everything falling apart and failing, where each day is to merely hold together, for the inevitable end.

I started playing in 1987. Recently a friend convinced me to pull my trunk of 40k out of storage after decades. I am beginning to understand why I put this Pandora's box in there. I'm putting together my first Edition Armies; Eldar Pirates, Mercenaries, Adventurers. Harlequins...oh LORD so many Harlequins, every Lead Chaos miniature they had in their catalog (I worked at GW), and a Sororitas army composed 90% of the only 2 minis they had for that army then...Gabs and...uhh...the other one... I'm seriously considering starting a UA-cam channel telling the CRAZY stories of what life was like back then, how the game affected my life. How my life affected the creative choices I made. Back then we were encouraged by GW to build out own stuff (Grav-Attack). I went overboard on that. This sort of throwback is my crack. Thank you for feeding my addiction. @@WarriorTier

Such a legitimately insane and interesting setting, a random space marine met the emperor on the golden throne and then had a chat with a chaos god, it's so...wild, modern 40k seems so tame and stagnant. Edit. Also, fuck, a chaos marine not being a demon fucking cartoonish villain? Insanity
This is rather well done and very nice to see all those old illos lovingly displayed - a large proportion of them being my work from an early phase of my career!!!!
Thank you so much! To say that your work is amazing would be an incredible understatement- absolutely top tier art and we feel incredibly honored to have you comment on our video!!
@@WarriorTier This is truly fantastic! The quality of the voice acting, the sound effects, the animations....truly top-notch!!! This really captures the original grim, dark feel of the WH40k universe that instantly hooked me back in the day. Truly a gift to all old school Warhammer 40k fans!!! Thanks, again. ; )
Thanks for blessing us with yet another riveting story, Brother Tier. I thoroughly look forward to your next tale! You are TRULY talented. I love the 80s style on this one, your content is genuinely some of the best on this website.
Wow really well done, felt official. The story, the voice acting, the classic art and editing, the music, and that opening mystery! The penny dropped just before the reveal, absolutely fantastic!!! Would love to see more of these 🎥🍿👏
When I saw the Rogue Trader book in the hobby store in either 86 or 87, it blew me away. There was nothing else like it....I scooped it up and bought it straight away. Fell in love with the world and lore. I was able to buy a box of the very first space marines, but my hobby shop couldn't get any orks in...so I bought some generic lead orcs that the shop did have and I armed them with spare bolters and frag grenades from the space marine sprue. I played the crap out of that game...and I also cut the counters in the back of the book out and played it with them for quite a while. Even photo copied some ork images and space marine too from white dwarf and made counters with them. Played RT for around a year....and my fascination with it eventually ebbed...that is until Adeptus Titanicus and the 1st edition Space Marine (Set in the Horus Heresy) came out....then I found my true passion. I wasn't all that enamored with the 2nd and 3rd editions of the 40k game...but epic was absolutely awesome. Bought every single army for 2nd edition Epic (Including Squats!) and had them painted up...some armies better than others. That was my golden period then...Would play Epic every single weekend at my local hobby shop outside of Camp Pendleton (Was in the Marines at the time) and loved that game to death and made a lot of friends who also played. I then got stationed in Yuma for my last 2 years in the Marines, and I made one of the biggest mistakes of my life...I GAVE all of my Epic stuff to a really good friend, as I was getting out of the service, and just didn't have anywhere to put all my stuff. I Had every single army and could field thousands of points of every army...I also had a crap load of Titans for all the races as well. All painted. As soon as I gave it all away (Made my friend very happy) I almost immediately regretted it. When 3rd edition came out, I felt it destroyed the game...the stupid blast markers...and all the stats made everything all the same. Was angry at Games workshop and I disliked their flagship 40k game...so....I turned my back on GW and vowed never to buy any more of their crap ever again. Advance many years later, and I find they are going to release epic again...and they "Fixed the rules" and It will be set in the Horus Heresy! Well, by golly, I AM IN! I went absolutely crazy with Legions Imperialis and I have $1,000 of it sitting in my man cave waiting to be put together. I am waiting for the 2nd wave stuff to come out so that I can complete my armies and then I will build up my forces. Really looking forward to it. And It all started with RT so many years ago in a hobby store in the 80's.
That cries out for more! Absolutely immersive, The old black and white pictures (which admittedly somehow seem even darker and "otherworldy" than the stuff you already know) the music, the dubbing, the whole setup. A sequel (or several) would be really great

Insanity
I really appreciate the kind words! Thank you so much for your support 🙏🙏🙏

Please keep it up^^
This is rather well done and very nice to see all those old illos lovingly displayed - a large proportion of them being my work from an early phase of my career!!!!
Thank you so much! To say that your work is amazing would be an incredible understatement- absolutely top tier art and we feel incredibly honored to have you comment on our video!!
Thank you! I absolutely love the voice acting and the amazing artwork! Bravo!
Thank you so much David, greatly appreciated!
I love the 80s style on this one, your content is genuinely some of the best on this website.

awesome concept! amazing content as always
Thank you so much Francis!
This is the way a series on Warhammer 40K should kick off, absolutely smashing.
Thank you so much Stefan!
Will this be a new series? Old short stories? Because if it is, I’m all for it. This was epic
It will be tough to do this again, in all honesty - we were really limited by the amount of 1st edition art that was available. But never say never!
Just throwing my 2 cents in but what about commissioning art in that style?
@@Illitha that’s a great idea.
This is the correct format for these stories. Very good work, can recommend :D
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for your support 🙏🙏🙏
36:50 Luft Huron!? My God Emperor the Tyrant of Badab!

Wow really well done, felt official. The story, the voice acting, the classic art and editing, the music, and that opening mystery! The penny dropped just before the reveal, absolutely fantastic!!! Would love to see more of these 🎥🍿👏
I really appreciate the kind words! Thank you so much for your support 🙏🙏🙏
So this was the begining of the badab war ?? I loved it, great job
Thank you very much!
Just love the old school WH40K art. Brings back great memories of my visits to my comic book/hobby store and opening up the old Codexes.
I really appreciate the kind words! Thank you so much for your support 🙏🙏🙏

@@WarriorTier May the Emperor be with you!!
Wow. This brings back a lot of great memories. Well done 👍🏼
Thank you so much Thomas!
Your lore recreation stories are by far the best with the voice acting, visuals, and sound effects.
Dirty, grimy, gritty art with a captivating story and superb voice acting! This is truly a gem!
I really appreciate the kind words! Thank you so much for your support 🙏🙏🙏
That cries out for more! Absolutely immersive, The old black and white pictures (which admittedly somehow seem even darker and "otherworldy" than the stuff you already know) the music, the dubbing, the whole setup. A sequel (or several) would be really great
Would love to do a sequel, we'll see what the future holds!
Heck of an ending. Great work brother!
Thank you, glad you liked it!!
