  • E-Brakes AKA parking brakes are easy to overlook and even easier to just blow off because the thought of working on it to make it work properly could be a pain and extremely time-consuming. The first thing that comes to mind is stretched cable and who knows how to even adjust it in the rear brake part of it. In this video I show you how to change the parking brake pads and tighten the e-brake cable and then also how I broke it again.. be super careful doing this and don’t do what I did. Hydro install coming soon!

    I'm thinking you might have had your ebreak on, i often do that while jacking up the car. That would be re reason for the rotor being as tough as it was to dismantle. I've done it myself never took me that long to figure out though. Learning curves...keep the vids coming.

    I have a question. Even with the e-break not engaged, is the rotor still kind of difficult to rotate compared to the front? I have a G35 coupe and I heard it's because of the LSD. Just want to make sure there's not something else wrong with it. I'm gonna just check the other side, but can't until wednesday.
    Thanks.

    Cameron, I am going through the same thing right now with my 350z!, I changed the parking break pads and new springs, and my ebrake still doesnt feel right, i cannot find the parking break lines either... Z1 has them for $80+ brand new and ebay has decently used pairs for $30... good luck bro let me know what you find and what you do

      Theres generally no need to even mess with the parking brake cables. Replace the brake shoes and adjust from the adjustment nut on the wheel hubs.

    I have a question, why would the brake pads on the e brake be worn if they are only used as a parking brake.

    • @TheOzzieTraveler
      @TheOzzieTraveler Рік тому +1

      When you apply brakes, it uses all 4 pads - 3 years late 😬

      @@TheOzzieTravelerno it doesn't? The rear brakes use a caliper and the e-brake uses the drum. Normal braking should not wear the parking drum brake.

    • @DaysieMan
      @DaysieMan 10 місяців тому

      And the answer is he doesn't use it just for parking. Especially on this car, it's usually used for drifting

    That just fk'n blows🤬. On top of a 💩 sandwich, they don't even make the part anymore??? I'd be calling Nissan to ask why they don't offer the parts to support their customers, especially since they make a 💩load off replacement parts. I might be contacting Nissan to ask about this, since it's very possible I'll need that part some day. I'm going to do a web search for the part 1st though, to see if it's available nowadays.

    Take it all apart throw out the rotors and start over. Theres a hole in rotor to adjust the ebrake. A hammer to take of rotor really? That was the funniest part of the video!! You hit that rotor 1000 times and proably had e brake on lmao. Dude this is first video i ever seen with such ridiculous methods. Find a new hooby!
