It'd Be Cool If Link Was Able To Go Down Beneath The Castle Due To Him Being Able To Talk While Zelda Wasnt And He Knew More Things Than Any Knight And My Guess Is That The Queen Was Also Exploring The Underground Part Of The Castle
I'm under the impression that the past of TotK takes place before the SS story (unless otherwise stated by Nintendo or better evidence given). --- Spoilers --- SS has a race that we don't see. They built automatons, had some control of time, have almost nothing known about them, and disappeared. The Zonai are an ancient race that we know very little about, that disappeared, who built automatons and had some time control. Rauru and Sonia mentioned that they were the FIRST king and queen of Hyrule. Yes they might be the first in a recreated Hyrule, but that doesn't seem to be the case and you would think that the Zonai with their vast knowledge would know if there were other Hyrule kingdoms before them as it would be quite odd if they just happened to name their kingdom the exact same thing as the ones before without knowing of them. The Shekaih symbol is obviously a direct reference to the 3rd eye that the Zonai have, so they had to come after the Zonai and have some reverence to the FIRST king and queen that the Shikaih then were sworn to protect throughout the ages. The Shikaih already existed in SS and were protectors of the kingdom already in the past of SS, meaning the last of the Zonai where they got their symbol from would need to have come before SS as they would have no context for the symbol otherwise. It doesn't mention Demise or "goddess" Hylia. This could be that Ganondorf corrupting the secret stone might have created Demise in some way OR possibly from the corruption of the secret stone Ganondorf was possessed by Demise in a way to turn him into that fully evil being, then either way Demise was able to break free from the underworld AFTER Ganondorf brought the mobs to the surface and gave way for them to infest the lower area of Hyrule to eventually made a path for Demise to come from. As to Hylia she very well could be a descendant of Rauru and Sonia, with their powers it wouldn't be surprising if she also had powers to be able to seal Demise and use the remaining Zonai tech (and/or her power) to create Skyloft, since we don't know of that ancient civilization it wouldn't be surprising if we didn't know that it was Zonai tech that created Skyloft the same as the sky islands and hid them in the same way in SS as we don't see them in BotW until after what happens in TotK (part of this could be time travel issues caused by Zelda as well). We know from TotK that the "sky islands" we see were actually almost all on the ground in the past of TotK (including the temple of time). We also don't see the statues of Hylia around in the past cut scenes, we do see the back room from the ancient temple but not the large statue of Hylia, something that could have been created afterword to then be raised to the sky. The only major issue is the Rito. In the past of TotK we see both the Zora AND the Rito, however this one is easy enough explained. The Rito in Wind Waker just didn't know the real history because of the events and likely loss of most any text that would say otherwise. For whatever reason they decided that they were decendants of Zora, possibly because the Zora weren't around but they are already evolved fish people there is no reason or good way for them to evolve into bird people BUT they very well could have just created a kingdom of their own in the water when Hyrule was flooded and not take up any extra space on the tiny islands. I welcome any other ideas of course for discussion, but if you have some at the very least have something to back them up such as in game evidence that directly disputes OR Nintendo saying otherwise.
--spoilers for tears of the dragon-- people speculate that the memories take place after ss but before minish cap. this would make sense as the two last zonai die after the confrontation with ganondorf. sonia may have had a sibling who carried on the royal bloodline to strictly hylians which is why hylians are the dominant race after tears of the dragon
@@groovy3 If it is anytime after SS where were the Zonai? They aren't just some minor tiny tribe, we are talking about the most advanced race we have seen so far in a Zelda game AND they are in Hyrule somewhere, so where are they? Some of the other races it could be easy to ignore, but the Zonai were described as having taken over Hyrule. This only makes sense if you fully ignore the rest of what I was talking about in my post. You have to leave out that somehow they were dominate enough to take over Hyrule, were seen as exceptionally powerful, that the Shekiah symbol is their 3rd eye yet the Shekiah were already established in SS, The fact that Rauru directly says he is the FIRST king of Hyrule and a point is make about that in the cut scenes, etc. Another thing I forgot in my post is the "Amber relics" in SS, while at the time when SS was made they were likely just a reference to the tomoe symbol, its almost a direct connection to TotK secret stones as the Amber Relic is shaped just like the secret stones (or better they made the secret stones shaped like the amber relics intentionally) and its description says "You got an Amber Relic! It's an amber-colored chunk of precious stone. Nobody knows why it's this shape" meaning it comes from a time before long enough that people don't know its meaning, very similar to the advanced civilization in SS that seem quite a bit like the Zonai where we also don't know anything about them just that they disappeared, again just like the Zonai. While there are a few inconsistencies that would need better explaining by Nintendo, time travel stories do that, as well as poorly thought out prequels, it still makes more sense for it to be before SS. If you put it anywhere after then you run into far more issues, specifically the problem with the Zonai not being around anywhere else and the references from SS. The biggest issue is that Nintendo didn't really plan sequence to start with the Zelda games, that was a much later thought, its why the maps are all different. So they could just play this off as "its a multiverse" or they might be re booting the series from BotW on and none of it matters.
1:02 why is Link still so short then? 24:26 someone should've made sure they were both gone by cutting off Ganondorf's head or something while he's paralysed.

I am not saying this of course to deminish your more recent work in any way and would love for you to see this comment and reply. Wish all good and thank you for telling us these stories 🙂
We love it when lady lore calls out small, albeit glaring, problems in story telling. Like, Mineru, no one was even talking about eating the stones and you just suddenly drop that piece of information on zelda? I think the nintendo writers need to watch a tutorial or two on subtle writing.
(Trying to avoid spoilers) I got the impression that she was asked to research possibilities. It seems like those who had the stones likely know about it, so it wasn’t fully out of nowhere.
@11:52 Interesting how we never really see any other "beings of Darkness".. And I also never understood how Ganondorf thought about making a Phantom Zelda. Most of story beats are mighty conveniences!! Nintendo should really up their game.
I don’t disagree, but I also don’t think that every little detail always needs to be explained. Nothing wrong with leaving some things for the viewer to interpret
@@Premium-Content I agree, there's no need to write down every detail. Allowing readers/viewers some imagination leeway always makes stories sink in. But a thing is describing every detail.. and another is leaving holes that don't make sense if people start to pay attention, which is something you totally want them to do! Instead of focusing on things they can't know about, like their mental and emotional state.. you distract them (and detract from the story) with actions and events that should NOT be perceived.
How Ganondorf thought to make a phantom Zelda, my theory is this: Ganondorf isn't an idiot, and he notes the direct approach won't work. So he hears of a distant relative of Sonia suddenly staying at the castle. Perhaps having his phantom take her form to snoop around the castle at night would not only give him information, but might sow distrust between Zelda and the others. As for the how and why he has a phantom. Well the games have always been vague on the extent of his magical abilities. In OOT before he has the triforce, he's already able to summon monsters. So the powers he shows before getting the secret stone aren't too far fetched.
@@brandonhelcher3691 My question is, how does he immediately know that Zelda is completely gone and making a phantom of her is the right choice? He saw her teleport once in the past (after Sonia's death)! Might even think that is her ability (moving thing). And he was in no position to see where she fell, nor did he see Link down there either! Yet, he is a master strategist that immediately has a Zelda going everywhere asking people not to do things.. and no Link or someone else?
@@Big_Dai Huh, good point. I was just focused on the Phantoms actions in the past. If anything he's probably aware that she shares Sonia's time power. From his POV he saw her use it moments before. The light she disappeared in was the same color, perhaps he pieced together from her confused reaction that the Zelda he fought then and the one he sees now are the same. Since as far as he knew she was stuck in the past, why not use her for to disrupt the kingdom while he recovers. I'll be honest these theories are basically off the top of my head, you've raised questions I haven't considered. Overall I agree with Premium-Content's point that not everything needs spelled out. But it's becoming clear to me that perhaps a few more solid details would have helped TOTK.

I need more, and I need it now 🥲
