I am from in India, and right now residing in Portugal. I hope to do this once I get my visa etc sorted here. Your video is inspiring and makes me believe that you don't have to be a fancy biker to do this trip
This is the first on my list of the top things I´d like to do in my life, Portugal to India solo motorbike ride, using the same route, incredible experience, congrats!
Woah, dude! That trip was legit fire I inhaled both your vids like pizza, and the shots were killer too! Just one heads-up for future adventures: ditch the black fade transition, it kinda throws off the vibe. Fade to white or keep it rolling smooth, ya know? Keep crushing it!
amazing video. those are some incredible views and wish one day i can replicate something magnificent as that. good luck on your future rides. ride safe.
Here from the Facebook group, Motorcycle Touring. You carry the spirit of our ancestors, the love for adventure and discovering the unknown. I loved the video and the landscape of every country, keep representing our country, my friend. PS.: How long did it took you to reach Switzerland?
@@tomcrown_adventure when I wrote that comment I hadn’t watched the video yet and I thought it was a 650cc. The fact it was a 250cc and with minimal gear makes you that much more of a beast. RESPECT 🤝
here from reddit, could you make a detailed account how you actually did this, out of all the similar trips i have seen, your is the most affordable and the 1st ama style reddit posts that helps aspirants like myself additioannly its amazing, that you were able to travel so light, my plan is super similar.
I tended to drive between natural areas (scouting for them in gps app). In some countries it was very easy to find spots randomly, since there was huge non-urban/non-farmed areas.
Thank you! Very difficult to say, but the kaluts in the lut desert of Iran and the mountains of north Pakistan were definitely far different from anything I had seen :)
@@tomcrown_adventure thank you for your response! As a woman, I am very hesitant on considering traveling to Iran anytime soon. As far as I understand, I would be required to cover my hair even as a tourist, right? This makes me quite uncomfortable, and I don't think I could adhere to this requirement.
Cool video man, came here from Reddit. So what made you ride to India and not some place else for example. Is that your longest ride and any plans on another trip. What’s the condition of your bike now and is it still operational. What was the best part of your trip and how did/do you get back.
I wasn't sure how far I would go, but I knew I could not go further than India, due to political and budget reasions. (Mynamar is closed due to the war, and going through china is too expensive due to special burocracy) Not sure about a next trip, also dont know how the bike is yet!
The bike is somewhere in a cargo ship right now. I took a flight. I'm legally obligated to bring the bike back, in order to get the deposit I made for specific paperwork. Otherwise, I would probably have sold her there :)
Awesome video, very inspirational! I'm curious what gear you used - what stuff do you wish you had spent more money on and what stuff do you think you could have saved money on?
Thank you! Looking back I would probably have taken some legit riding boots that isolate the water, and some better gloves for the same purpose. Often at high altitudes, the cold/humidity combo would leave me numb. (I would ask for hot tea at gas stations to warm up the fingers)
Some issues with the engine starter but it got fixed. The front broke but was then welded. Chain was to worn so got replaced. Nothing truly problematic :)
I speak Portuguese, English and some half-decent Spanish. I carried travel cards that convert the currencies for ok rates. But for example in Iran international cards don't work. So cash and bargaining rates was the way :)
She could do around 270km (168 miles) with a full tank, depending on the roads! There were some places where gas stations were quite spread out but I still made it.
North Pakistan or gilgit baltistan belongs to India illegally occupied by Pakistan. on 26th October 1947 Pakistan invaded gilgit Pakistan and forcefully annexed it to Pakistan.

Undoubtedly :)

did you check for warnings in croatia and montenegro regarding stepping off the road? some areas still have a landmine problem from the war.
I must say I was not aware of the landmine issue, yet I didn't do much off-road in these countries :)

how much did it cost approx? whoever did the video transition and editing, did a great job.
🤩🤩
That looks like a great trip. How did you find camping locations? Did you plan them in advance, or did you just stop wherever looked like a good spot?
I tended to drive between natural areas (scouting for them in gps app). In some countries it was very easy to find spots randomly, since there was huge non-urban/non-farmed areas.
Great video! Which of the places / areas you visited stood out the most to you in terms of beauty / uniqueness?

Amazing man. Came here from Reddit.
But why stop at India? Time constraints?
Cheers! Budget constraints (Plus Mynamar is closed due to the war, and going through china is too expensive due to special bureaucracy).

@@tomcrown_adventure I would have bought it :)
How did you sort out the bike license issue with local authorities?
I had all the paperwork required, including Carnet de passage. It was no problem

I am gona watch this later this evening. Did you have any mechanical issues with the bike.
Some issues with the engine starter but it got fixed. The front broke but was then welded. Chain was to worn so got replaced. Nothing truly problematic :)

Amazing. How was the gas mileage for a 30 year old bike? Did you ever have issues finding gas stations driving through remote areas?
She could do around 270km (168 miles) with a full tank, depending on the roads! There were some places where gas stations were quite spread out but I still made it.
@@tomcrown_adventure Superb dude hopefully we can ride together
