You can't argue for SBMM in the beta mainly sweats are the people who are preordering for multiplayer. (I'm not for it at all i loath SBMM) but i think saying it's in the beta is not a strong argument tbh because i'm almost certain the majoirty of players unlike launch and post launch are not casual players in the beta tests.
I dropped a like 😂 Btw, i havent tried it yet, im just gonna wait for the full release, but i did notice alot of my PS friends who id classify as sweats were all playing it, in other words, im guessing the lobbies will be sweaty. Ping: the sbmm on this factor is absolutely b.s, and i agree with you, how is it the closest server in my region provides 60ms ping, and yet they put me in 150ms ping, against Americans in some cases, wtf!
Disbanding lobbies is so frustrating to me. Part of what made the old cods great is the rivalries you would form with another player. Its impossible to do that now
I agree !! The days of clan wars and rivalries are long gone and that sucks ... I've met several of my friends on my friends list from going toe to toe in lobbies and one or the other tired of losing and we would party up
Its honestly crazy how EVERY lobby in the beta was a sweat fest. At least for me. I felt proud when i popped off 7 kills in a row, 7. I USED TO DROP THAT IN MY SLEEP
I felt the same way. Like, it honestly felt like I was playing ranked games over and over again. If I wanted to sweat my ass off I would just go into those games. I want to be able to enjoy myself after a long day at work or school by not having to necessarily try but don't do absolutely horrible in the process.
We just get the lowest ranked/kd player to host and it usually gives us easier opponents.. don’t get me wrong it is easier but then if some of us that are more sweaty host these guys struggle so why not use sbmm to our advantage..
Most of these people in the beta need their mothers to remember them to change their diapers once in a while. They can't leave the screen or they'll die in real life apparently. Usually games are suposed to be fun and not a championship.
I’m curious if anyone else has had this experience. It seems like to me, after I have a good game, the next match I’m not only against crazy jump shotting mlg players, but it also seems like my teammates are just straight trash. I get the people who don’t leave the spawn and end the game going 11-65
That's how SBMM works. You are guaranteed to win 50% of your games and guaranteed to lose 50% of your games, and it sucks and that's why people hate it.
@@marcosbatista1029 nah it might sound that way but the team balancing has been awful for years. Nothing more frustrating than getting put against a team of sweats when your team are basically missing limbs 🤣
It feels like 70% of the teammates I get are scared of capturing flags/hard points . Like you have never seen more cowardly players in your life it’s so infuriating
They arent scared. They just want kills. All team based modes are dumb because no one wants to play as a team. Everyone plays as individuals that's it.
it is crazy strong in this game. I feel like it is getting worse and worse. Also, Skill Based Damage and Skill Based Hit Reg are definitely there for this game just as in MWII
Like can we just have a ranked and casual playlist that it ACTUALLY casual and ranked. Let the sweats duke it out there. Hell put cool cosmetics there to incentivize the player to play ranked. I just wanna have fun in a few games after work ffs
I think lobbies are stacked to ensure certain results. Meaning if you win you'll not only get competitive lobbies but you'll also get the lower tier of the bracket to make it more likely your next game will lose to balance out
But if it sends a message, maybe it’s worth it. It’s like us taking back what little power we have. So I did it all the time when I used to play. But I don’t anymore. Waiting for Xdefiant
@@danodudeXthey don’t care, you buy the game they ain’t gonna change it they got your money and they’re good with that. Just not buying it is a better way
@@notafishstick8667 they arent good with that though, evidenced by all the bundles, way over priced, and they put you into lobbies with morons who payed for all of them because they think you are as dumb as them and that if you see enough players with these dumb skins you will buy them too...these guys have the most nefarious business practices in the industry. Its all about manipulating your experience to get you to buy mtx, thats literally all the give a shit about, which is why everything outside of core multiplayer is free to play
As a casual player since BO1 I’m glad I ran across this video. I never understood the complaints about sbmm until now honestly. My friend’s and I were in our mid 20s, no real responsibilities and we also played 8-10 hours a day back in the BO1 and BO2 days and it’s some of my fondest memories. Great video 👍
When i see people drop shotting and going the distance to not get killed I just leave immediately. They want a challenge and I just want to chill so it works out for both.
I've definitely felt the hit registration, i commented about it on one of your previous videos. As someone whose bascially left the franchise since black ops 2, i played some of the beta at a friends house and actually enjoyed it. But the hit reg was defintiely annoying, you can actively see it getting worse as you start doing better, and enemies just melt you in 2 bullets. That makes 0 sense, to me.
i think it is not or not exclusively, because the better you get, the less good players there are in your region with whom the game could throw you into a lobby, i.e. in the end the server on which you play will be further away and the ping will increase...sbmm...sadly not a ping based matchmaking :D
One of the most important things in any video games is the feeling of being rewarded as a player for getting better at the game. The way that it used to happen is that you were really bad at the beginning and as you were focusing on improving you could see you’re getting more kills and winning more matches. The dopamine you’d get from that was unlike any others. Nowadays, that almost never happens, cause you are constantly getting punished for getting better, and it actually never feels like you are getting better because you keep putting into sweatier lobbies.
Ive never understood this, maybe im just pessimistic but without SBMM I feel no improvement, it never feels like I am getting better it feels like I just got lucky and vsed worse players, with SBMM I feel that, if my enemies are improving so am I maybe Im the outlier but my default response without SBMM is "Damn these guys suck" not "damn I am good"
I think the killstreak system is more significant when it comes to objectives. Bo3 gave you 200 per capture and kill while capturing. This meant 2-3 kills on a point for a uav. It heavily rewarded objective play, and the modern iterations do none of that. I think xclusiveace posted a video about this as well, some time back.
@@lukie736sbmm actually helps retain players and is good for casuals that don't wanna sweat their butts off. I don't mind sbmm. It's a good feature imo
@@-UnchartedSky- I have to disagree with your first comment lol. I used to have a 3kd or so in pretty much every cod up to the jetpack ones, at which point i took a break. When I came back in mw2019, the difference was obvious. They may have had some form of sbmm in old cods (it mainly just protected extremely bad and new players) but it was nothing compared to what it is now. Oh and I played extremely casually, like 2-3 hours a day, and never was a "tryhard". Maybe im just old now, or people are better at gaming in general, who knows.
You really hit the nail on the head with saying that this game is physically exhausting. I get sleepy after a couple of hours and just find myself sitting there browsing the menus, browsing my phone, or watching youtube lmao. I am good at this game like you said definitely above average and this game has also been a huge part of my life but damn it's just a lot to grind and focus nonstop. There is barely ever a relaxing fun laid back game.
there is plenty of great games but the only way you can find them is by putting cod down and explore a little bit, IDK about console but pc has a ton of games to chose from enlisted is getting better than cod thats on console even hell let loose insurgency sandstorm and other games also thats not even shooter's. heck sea of thieves is better than COD in my opinion. I use to be a huge cod fan i played since COD 4 Modern Warfare until MW 2019 thats when i put it down and im glad i did. i've found so many great games since
I got to experience SBMM first hand myself. Lately, I've been trying to focus more on the game, I was actually paying attention at my audio and the map and that has worked out great for me. I was constantly at the top of the lobby, but now it reached a point that I cannot even find any local servers anymore in MWII. The lowest ping the game even attempts to look for is 130 and I live in a very populated area. Only like 1 out 7 matches has less than 50 ping. It's absolutely ridiculous. This is what I get for getting better at the game. I can't even play with my friend properly because, not only is the SBMM of the match is tuned toward me, the player with the better stats, meaning my friend usually has a horrible time, but the ping he gets is also absolutely atrocious too, because we live in the same area... This whole system is such a joke.
I just moved in with a couple friends and they're not very good at the game. Ive played cod since cod4 and have probably bought 2 cods since bo4. I hopped on their account on mw2 and got a nuke lmao. But I've played too much on it now and now nobody can enjoy it 😂. They all said they liked mw2019 the best so I guess that matchmaking is good for people with about a 1kd.
MW2019 didn't have super aggressive SBMM it was light enough that a 2.0KD player could play with their .7KD friend and they both have a good time. Though I still had a friend that didn't like to play in my lobbies because of SBMM still @@brandonbouchez7195
Call of Communism. Everyone is made the same, K/D equity. I haven't bought a CoD since BLOPS2. Seeing this new one with OG MW2 maps makes me want to get it out of nostalgia, but I will never spend money for a game that punishes me. I wonder how many people there are like me who's money they are missing out on.
150 health feels like 150 when I’m loading someone up with bullets and they refuse to die, but it feels like I’m playing hardcore when the other guy melts me immediately. SBMM negates any changes they make to this game.
Man, I remember my friends and I had 100+ win streak. We did an all pistol challenge, had to counter play other stacked teams, played 2of3 or 3of5 when another team talked that 💩, lobbies didn’t disband, ping was king, and everything just felt organic. We got home, poured up a little whiskey coke, and actually had fun. What a time…BO1 and MW3 🐐’d games.
I remember in BO1 frequently playing against 5 man clan teams. I also played 5v5 stacked clans frequently. I've played a single stacked 5 man in MWII in 500 hours of play. Also, 2 clans trash talking was great. You trash talk now and you'll get a voice chat ban.
Miss trickshots and machinima style videos being made for cod. When fun was more important than money Its crazy to think how hyped everyone used to get for cod especially the zombies dlc ads for Black ops 1! Good times
210 in CoD4 without a single dashboard to avoid the reset. Absolute slaughtering in lobbies and having super intense grudge matches with other 5 stacks was peak COD. I miss it....
@@beezermedia Organic fun man. There was a time people wanted to get better. I first started and was at the bottom of the leaderboards every match. Eventually, I got better, started climbing to the top, started getting more kills streaks, etc. they want everyone coddled and equal now. Hell, I’m not that good still, but I had a freaking blast. Now, I feel like I’m in COD champs, MLG, Game Battle matches every single lobby. Hard pass for me. It just isn’t fun. We haven’t even gotten to connections and lag.
It’s crazy. I can almost excuse every nightmare cod has implemented or every perfect mechanic removed if they could just take out sbmm. Cod would have my full and undivided attention if it would go back to connection based matchmaking.
connection based matchmaking and sbmm are 2 different things. you can have both. connection just needs to be the heavier check in their algorythm. sadly it never has been :/ sbmm itself has been around forever just gets more and more strict as time goes on.
You know it’s bad when I’m in Texas and they connect me with England and overseas. I’m like wow America must suck I’m doing 100+ ping playing overseas.
I literally met one of my BEST friends in the entire world on black ops 1, or maybe right at the end of Mw2 when i was 12. He lived in the same city as me. We started hanging out and became friends fast. When we were 16, we found out we were distantly related through marriage as well. I'm 26 now, and I live about 45 minutes away, but he's still one of my best friends in the world. I miss when you'd play with people close to you.
Doubtful, cause the Treyarch games don't have as strict SBMM. I was always going up against trash players in black ops 3, 4, cold war@@gregoryosbun4141
I can't remember a time where people actually played Domination for the objective. It has always been the game mode for farming kills for a majority of players since games last longer and people care more about KDA vs. win rate.
Thank you for the thorough and honest breakdown of what’s behind the veil of modern COD. Ive commented this shit on prior videos if SBMM is implemented, it doesn’t matter how good visually it looks or how good the gameplay is. If you wanna torture yourself playing this game due to being a loyal fan, that’s on you. My piece of mind is valuable 😂
Backing out of lobbies is the quickest fix for SBMM for sure. If your win loss ratio starts to dip below 1, it then gives you lobbies you’re more likely to win. Quickest way to get your “punishment” game over with is to simply just not play it. When the game sees you lost due to quitting, it’ll ease up a bit. At least in my experience.
For me it seems to never let up. The first game of the beta was the only win, the only fun game. Every single subsequent game was a total stomp no matter how badly I was doing. Shit's frustrating.
@mintylime2563 same shit happened to me. My first match on the beta i went like 38-24 and top of the leaderboard. Next game I got slammed and had a 0.38 KD. Like wtf? I did bad pretty much every match after
imagine paying 70 bucks for a game where you got to back out of games until you get a good one you can play that's a waste of money and time. well its not a west for Activision because they got paid and there getting the rep for numbers of players playing just because your on the game. W corporate L consumer
The first cod im officially not buying and i couldnt be happier with myself and self control. The only way things will change is when enough of us do the same. Lets get hype for Xdefiant ❤
Proud to say my last COD purchase was MW2019. Before that, my last cod was BO2. It doesn't feel good, not buying COD. It just makes me sad, remember how good cod4 through BO2 was.... just memories now.
It’s just such an unrewarding system in my opinion when you know it exists . I done miserable in one of my early games of the beta (haven’t played cod since mw2 launch) but the next game I popped off and done well but I knew the only reason I did well was because of the sbmm. It’s so unrewarding
Your sense of accomplishment is ruined when you know the game threw you a bone because it was worried you'd log off. With ping based matchmaking you could fully track your skill progression and see your improvement or play with people who dunked on you and learn their strats. SBMM takes all of that away. You will always sweat no matter how good or bad you get.
I’m glad you made this video Nero, I’ve been legit struggling in this beta and I’m just like “I SUCK, everyone is so much better than me” but then I saw how strong this SBMM is.
What you're supposed to do is not support Activision & their games. By continuing to buy the game you are letting them take advantage of you & letting them think its okay. If everyone would stop buying it, they would be forced to change
People on UA-cam and people watching UA-cam videos are a small minority compared to the millions of casuals that play the game. Things aren’t going to change anytime soon
No shit, everyone's been saying it for years. But the thing is, these are things most people don't care about, so much like with microtransactions, saying "vote with your wallet" means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Every time I see a SBMM heavy video I cant help but ask...does anyone else remember when they "accidentally" turned on SBMM in Bo3? I felt it immediately, and so did the entire internet. People were MAD. It was reverted about 12 hours later. It was Dec 19, 2015.
The thing about sbmm is people don’t want play a cod world league match after a long day at work or maybe they don’t have much time and they just wanna chill with their friends i don’t understand why it’s so hard to just have casual and ranked matches even games based around competitive like siege do this it’s common sense
It's there to handhold bad players so they feel good and like the game more to buy skins and bundles ... doesn't get simpler than that .... games rigged to the gills ... when you get killed you gotta think was that guy actually good or just being handheld ?? even tho he misses all his shots didnt get the drop on you or anything ... Rigged trash
You say this, but you likely watch videos on guides for meta weapons? So many people watch videos for the perfect meta attachments, the best perk builds, secret spots, ect. All of them acting like it is CoD World League. Of course SBMM is going to be strict. We as players said it needed to be.
I can relate to the area code thing, back when I played MW2 2009 there were two separate occasions when I ended up in lobby’s with guys from my high school 😂 we were all equally shocked but it was cool cause we all become friends after that. Won’t get that with sbmm 🙃
You pretty much nailed it on the head with the not even bothering to get mad at the matchmaking anymore and just leaving unbalanced matches, that's where I'm at with things too. I used to kinda care about stats (the last time I really did was back in blops 1 when I had over a 2.0 KD) but I took a hiatus from COD until MW 2019 and MW22 and boy I really couldn't less care about stats in these games now, when I first got MW22 I had a nice 1.21 KD which isn't much but then the game got acclimated to my "skill" and boy did things go down hill after that first week, I've been at ≈.97 for MONTHS. And that's fine on its own but even at this low of a KD people are still playing like it's game day on the main stage one match and then hiding in corners never to move the next match, I don't know who told them this was "optimizing" engagement but it honestly makes me not want to play the game.. so I don't. That's some real optimized engagement if you ask me lol
Likewise, I share your experience. In MW2 2022, my KD stands at 1.78 with a WL of 0.56. I actually started the lobby backing trend during Cold War for the exact reasons you mentioned.
I do not understand why this is so hard for people to understand: EOMM controls your experience in every lobby and knows whether you will win or lose before the game even starts. Halo infinite has the exact same system, and you can actually view what the predicted outcome of the game was supposed to be down to the exact predicted k/d ratio for each player. Go watch Mint Blitz's video on it. If you think you have more than 1% control over your performance in a match, you are mistaken
Even if such a system exists. It doesn’t work on me. Still have a 7kd while dropping 40+ kills every game. I think once you’re past a certain skill threshold it doesn’t matter any more.
No lie I used to play cod for like 4 plus hours a day. Now a days I can barely stomach 30 mins. The one thing I can say that’s good about cod going down is that it’s helped me find different types of games I enjoy
As for me, the incredible ramp-up in SBMM in 2019 made me quit CoD completely and I have not touched a Call of Duty game since December 2019...SBMM destroyed one of the best multiplayer games ever as it is trying to do with all other MP games too to prioritize noobs and players who spend a lot of money on the game. All things considered, glad to see you doing alright these days Nero. :)
So consentrating on casual players who actually spend money on the game. is a bad thing for Activision? 😂😂😂 OK, Yeah that makes perfect sense. What actually makes sense is to get rid of all the sweat try hards and make the game fun again
@@anthonylong5870why should they concentrate on casual players, if they are casual they shouldn’t care how well they perform, right? If you replace “casual” with “bad” then I guess I can see where you are coming from but still disagree.
The issue is the people who look at guides that come out in the first month setting metas on CoD are the minority. SBMM exists to deal with people like you who treat CoD as a ranked meta rather then just try to have fun match by match using whatever random combination of guns, attachments, perks, and non-meta.
Completely agree. It's not about getting bot lobbies. It's about the feeling of the match being determined before it even starts as well as every single match feeling so artificial. Also ping is garbage. It starts searching at 60ms. And I live 20 minutes away from a EU datacentre.
I completely feel you bro. Been playing since World at War and put COD down in season 1 recent MW2. It’s not fun anymore, can’t get on and chill anymore. I just get my COD fill through you dedicated UA-camrs now
In Some of the OG Modern Warfares the games used to show you the k/d and Ping off everyone in the lobby and you could see the variation in K/D’s . They probably don’t dare to show that anymore because that would be absolut proof of SBMM. My friends rather not join me anymore in a party because my super sweaty lobbies and it seems like the game just allways looks at the stats of the person who does the best in the party. Now in all fareness my friends stopped playing this current game back in may because of how bad it is but are all hypes for the next one. But with SBMM staying the same it looks like I Will be playing most of my matches alone ones again.
they also use to show live player count's also across what ever platform you was on they don't do that either anymore you use to be able to hop on and see how many people where playing Xbox or PlayStation and pc depending witch one you played on
or you can not buy or play and fight back against them if enough people join the fight against them and they lose enough they will make changes. for the better. that's how we got loot boxes taken out people was about to boycott the game then they got took to court then they changed it to the system we have now
This topic has been a never-ending conversation that it has been included in almost every COD. Regarding with MWIII, I am almost thinking of missing COD for the 3rd straight year in succession, not played COD since Cold War and the questionable decisions that get approved every time with Activision having the final say in most things as a publisher explains why they are wanting the vision of this franchise to push in that direction - and it's in a bad way of course. I just don't see it thrive anymore, even with the MW2 maps returning to MWIII...
So I'm confused, if you haven't bought COD in 3 years...why are you still watching COD content? Why bother? There's no vested interest there if you're never buying COD again.
@@vanman9607 I still am interested in supporting this channel, but not interested into ‘playing’ the game, if that makes sense. Not worth ‘purchasing’ CODs for £70 annually…
Same man. Never liked IW and Sledgehammer games. Last COD I bought was Cold War as well waiting on Treyarch’s next game but I feel for the boys who dig the MW series and have to deal with this atrocity lol
I remember when your channel first came out man. You’re a true OG and hope you never go away. Maybe COD will return to the good ol days eventually. I feel like we’re getting there man. I can just feel it. We had a rough time since advanced warfare but I see things changing in the future
Sbmm needs to widen it's range. It's too tight right now. It also doesn't help that they purposefully make your aim assist, ping, hit reg, and everything worse when you're doing too good. They also make sure to place you against ppl who will beat you. They literally control the outcome of most your matches. It's insane. If it was only playing similar ranked ppl, it wouldn't be as bad
Or just let every match be based solely on ping. Take skill level completely out of it. Sometimes you'll get a tough lobby, sometimes easy, sometimes you'll get your ass kicked, sometimes it will be you doing the dominating. That is what would make the game interesting and fun again.
In theory, yes, its fair. You are facing people of similiar skill...but not nearly the same connection quality. So in reality, i have to somehow play my best, while also playing with double the ping as everyone else....how the F is that fair? Lol This whole thing is stupid and needs to be removed, or SERIOUSLY reworked
You made some really good points. I went back to the older cods since 2019 for one major reason: zero delay in getting into lobbies and actually playing the game. Im way too high to be sitting around watching the algorithm find me a match at 150+ ping after every match. As much as I dislike the new system Id be willing to put up with it if they threw me into the game more swiftly.
Decided this year I’m finally done with Call of Duty. I’m getting older and life has too many things going on for me to want to “relax” on a game that forces me to try my hardest at all times. I always used to wonder how anyone got enjoyment out of single player games and sports games but here I am playing those exclusively these days. I miss what Call of Duty used to be and will always remember the great times my friends and I had on it. But it’s not meant for people like me anymore.
My k/d has been at .99 since the day i started playing MWII. No matter how hard i try i cannot get 1.00 k/d. It never goes up or down. On every other cod i’m a 1.20-1.60 player (i’m a rushing sniper)
I got 1.03 & it doesn’t matter if I leave the game alone for days. I’ll get put instantly in tournament lobbies with skill based damage within. My hit box is huge, my health is less & it’s ridiculous
3:57 this is exactly why I have been closer to not playing cod then ever before. Not only is the ping bad but I’ll be playing against a full party of sweats. While I’m playing by myself. SBMM should only work when you’re playing with a group/squad.
Try "searching for ping over 125ms....." - at that point, I back out or just shut the game off. I've been in a LOT of lobbies people weren't even speaking English. That's problematic when you're factoring in netcode and a higher TTK.
@@jasonmcallen8954 I don't mean any of this to disparage anyone in other countries; I'm just saying it's creating a problematic gameplay environment for me, and probably for them as well. Surely they notice it too; they'd have to.
I haven’t liked MP the last few years and i thought it had to do with the terrible map designs, so when the old MW2 maps where anounced i thought that finally the fun would be back. Jumped into the beta and was so happy to finally play my favorite map ever: Favela. I tried so hard to enjoy the map and have fun, but i could not because of the SBMM. I am sad that they are remastering all this maps because the SBMM is going to taint my memory of these maps! And what i do not understand with the SBMM is that it does not feel like people are on my skill range, it feels like they are FAR beyond. So does that mean that they are having fun while playing? I used to think i was good at CoD but now i am wondering if i am only bad?
Original MW2 match making went like this. Get X number of people into a lobby to fill it based on ping alone. Play first game. Usually it was lopsided since skill isn't distributed evenly. Next match, it would take the top two scorers and put them on opposite teams, next top two opposite, and so on. The following match would be fun and competitive while still allowing high skill players to dominate and have fun. You also played several matches in a row with the same people, with people slowing leaving and entering the lobby as you went. It made for good rivalries and trash talking. It worked great. I'll never play a modern CoD. Why pay for a product that punishes you for getting good at playing it?
I lost 16 games in a row on MWII because of SBMM, Nobody on my team would go for the objective for 16 games straight and if they did they would try to go for it at the last minute of the game. this resulted in me getting a 0.76 W/L ratio. After that I stopped caring about stats
Shipment ruined my kd for me before I had like a 1.4 kd as I started playing shipment for weapon camos 1.4kd-0.70 kd my win loss ratio is 0.45 I’m the one that carries my teams
And "advanced movement" just exacerbates the issue of sweatiness. I wonder how many think modern COD's problems (when comparing to the classic games) are only SBMM related when the mechanics of the newer games are also allowing people to do things they couldn't before. And to top it off, it seems the engine, servers, netcode, whatever, often doesn't keep up and shows you things that are just too unreal.
Mw2 is rigged, skill based footsteps, hitreg, netcode makes it all seem like you do less damage, makes enemies delete you and makes it so you get peekers disadvantage if you consistently do well. Buy cod points and that goes away for a couple games tho 😂 Such a joke of a game and mw3 will be the same
Im just waiting for SBMM to affect the middle man. Eventually all of those people who don't feel it or defend it. Will eventually feel it, you cant play this game every day and every year and not get better. Eventually that hit of SBMM will get to everyone. I havent played COD since Cold War. And it was the best choice i ever made. It was crazy how less stressful i felt after i stopped playing. But games like Battlefield and all of the interest in Xdefiant show you that plenty of players still want to have a good time. And not be competitive and hyper focused 24/7. My bet is that when Microsoft gets full control of Activision/Blizzard we can start talking more serious about kicking SBMM off for good! Until then im playing fun games. Hell even games that are competitive but have a 1000000x better ranking system than COD.
Every match was like playing a match of ranked. Not to mention I also matched up against call of duty pro players like zooma, octane, parasite, censor. This beta was sooo sweaty.
That shit happens to me all the time. I go to A flag all the time, usually by myself, and I say y'all better be getting B flag. But nope. I get A, my teammates go do nothing. They just die while trying to rush into engagements
I don’t even think sbmm isn’t as big of a problem as people think. Most players that are playing the beta are just tryhards. Especially when this game is advertising itself to tryhards with the movement and everything.
In mw19 the sbmm had no effect on me I would still dominate any lobby any mode. Cold War came and I was like ok I see the incline, it got worse but the sbmm still couldn’t tame my behaviour. I skipped vanguard. Mw2 came and I noticed the sbmm was now a monster, every lobby I was playing against myself. Changed my play style and my headshot ratio had to stay at 30% but can still be a big problem in the lobby. But all the fun had gone.
Facts bro, i remember ppl bitching about mw19 saying that SBMM was bad but I never felt it all. I literally had 100 game win streaks on that cod. But like you said after that game shit just got worse and I could actually see it
@@courtlandblair7078 Idk how you didn't feel the sbmm in 2019 lol. I'm pretty sure you just weren't good enough to be put into the crazy sweaty lobbies because ExoGhost has videos from 2019 showing exactly what I'm talking about. Whenever I see "oh I didn't feel any sbmm" I know one of two things. Either the person is a pro level gamer, or they're not good enough to be put into high sbmm lobbies.
@@pavmx703 nah fam I was definitely good enough I was in the top 0/1 percentile. And I had a squad I ran with on occasions. The game was fun and easy for me. You don’t have to be a pro to be good at the game plus I’ve been playing since world at war days.
@@courtlandblair7078 Unfortunately you were not that good. Otherwise you would've noticed SBMM as even slight SBMM would impact you due to how high you are. Your Squad comment even hurts your argument. Playing with a Squad can make things easier/harder depending on how skilled your squad is. Communication is huge but it also impacts how SBMM works making it easier/harder based on individual skill within the squad.
I feel your pain with the insta-melt. 5-6 bullets according to the game but on my end it’s instant. I’ve been screwed ever since Cold War. Top 2% KD and it’s been downhill since. Back in the day you could see others KD in the lobby and you choose to stay or go. Now it’s just sweats. I’m going to try the back out on crappy lobbies and see if it works. Great content and vids man.
love you nero nice to see you still out here, havent been keeping up with cod as much bc of all the things listed in this video but its nice to see you still doing your thing and standing by the fans as always
I like this. It's making it much easier for me to not buy the game. I'm mainly a MP guy and as long as SBMM exists, I'm not giving a single penny to them. I still play CW from time to time, but I noticed finding a lobby got a lot more difficult recently. I don't mind it, once it takes too long to find a game will be a day I'll stop playing CoD overall
I’m 40. Been playing COD since day 1. I quit playing mid WW2 by sledgehammer, came back for mw19, got to experience that nightmare. Haven’t purchased another COD since. Been watching Nero for a Decade ❤ 13:20
I think the main problem with the beta is you are getting lots of players who don't play dom or hardpoint and are teamdeath match players, all they care about or focus on is getting the kills.
I don’t understand why ACTV doesn’t just try tuning SBMM down a bit. I bet every penny to my name that a happy loyal fan base will make you more money than casual players who could care less. It’s business 101. They’re more than happy to piss off the entire playerbase for the sake of trying something new. Why not try making them happy and see what happens.
Sooooo let's be accurate. We say this every year, because it's true. Without watching the video I can tell you what happens is, they have SBMM turned up every year the game releases as the cod season progresses and player base dies they dial it back to allow for the occasional casual looking/feeling gameplay and consistent match making to accommodate the diminished player base.
Thanks Nero ! Love this video on your topic. I play cod since cod 1. Sbmm sucks. I rember cod to be like a sandbox game. The beta game now is sweaty, i can confirm. It is what it is. Not a big fan of that imo. But to be honest i have let it go, nostalgia and the days we know are history now. It is sad yes, i am from 1988, played medal of honor even before call of duty. I miss the christmas noobs man, haha. I totaly understand the situation at the moment. I watch your videos since black ops 1 i think. The players now are not the players before. The scene has shifted, and we are all old dudes playing against 16yr kids that drink red bull all day 😂. One love for the veteran COD PLAYERS SINCE COD4❤
The whole thing about objectives in games these days is that players play objective gamemodes nowadays and don't even care about the objective. For some cases this is even true for purely objective gamemodes like Siege where some players play specific operators just because it is easier for them to get quick kills.
About that MW2019 k/d thing According to Cod tracker the average K/D went down in mw2019 People who would normally have 1.0 k/ds had 0.9, people who had 2.0s were around 1.5 etc
Here’s my experience with SBMM…my second game in on the beta…I’m playing against a stacked lobby of pro/streamers. I’m not even lvl 5 on the beta and I’m running into stacked lvl 30 players who have the beta fully optimized 🤣 you’re penalized for being a good player. I don’t even bother trying to play with friends who aren’t as good bc they have no fun in my bunny hopping, slide cancelling, dropshot non stop lobbies. Sad days when you can’t even just try to play casual games. SBMM makes sense for ranked mode not just casual game modes imo.
Not to mention, I’m dying in 4/5 bullets whereas I’m having to hit someone with 7/8 bullets. Wild. This is going to be another game where Vanilla guns are horrible and weapon attachment dependency runs rampant again. Shouldn’t have to watch 12 UA-cam videos on weapon attachments just for my guns to work as intended. Anyways my rant is over.
I won't buy it if the SBMM is like mw2. That's why I didn't pre order it. Not everything that glitters is gold. Sometimes someone ate glitter and took a shiny dump.
When you talked about how draining sbmm is, I felt that. I am burned out after an hour or two, when I used to play sun up till sun down for weeks on end.
SBMM does a disservice to its entire player base and it’s actually counter productive. I’m a casual player and I’m about average at best, maybe even below average, I usually have around a 1.05KD each year. The most frustrating thing is that if I have a good game they register that as if I’m too good to play amongst this group, so now my next few games I’m playing against people that are 10x better than me and once I perform poorly they put me back with players on a lower level. I feel like there’s actually no way to measure my progression in this game, I never know if I’m getting better, if I’m regressing, or if it’s just SBMM playing a part in all of it.
HELLO NOTIFICATION SQUAD! Drop a like on the video if you enjoy
@TheDSSlayer idk why I'm commenting but great piont 👍
As soon as the hit detection got bad I will jump
My first game was 2003 why would I play misery?

Btw, i havent tried it yet, im just gonna wait for the full release, but i did notice alot of my PS friends who id classify as sweats were all playing it, in other words, im guessing the lobbies will be sweaty.
Its impossible to do that now
Sbmm hamster wheel. Stop being a lab rat
I agree !! The days of clan wars and rivalries are long gone and that sucks ... I've met several of my friends on my friends list from going toe to toe in lobbies and one or the other tired of losing and we would party up
Always say this man I love sbmm but disbanding the lobbies is what is killing it you get a nice chat going with the enemy and you never see them again
@@arturochavez2679you love sbmm? 😂😂😂
what's funny is that I've heard the devs mention this multiple times. I'm pretty sure this is the core reason why they implement sbmm
Maybe you're playing with actually good players and not bots.
We just get the lowest ranked/kd player to host and it usually gives us easier opponents.. don’t get me wrong it is easier but then if some of us that are more sweaty host these guys struggle so why not use sbmm to our advantage..
@@hereweare9011 regardless it’s so bad when it’s every match💙🫡
Most of these people in the beta need their mothers to remember them to change their diapers once in a while. They can't leave the screen or they'll die in real life apparently. Usually games are suposed to be fun and not a championship.
SBMM is the biggest reason to why stopped playing cod
its a reason for me. but not the main. the games just suck now
Just not good enough mate your time is over
Mw3 is fun but sbmm is ruining it
I’m curious if anyone else has had this experience. It seems like to me, after I have a good game, the next match I’m not only against crazy jump shotting mlg players, but it also seems like my teammates are just straight trash. I get the people who don’t leave the spawn and end the game going 11-65
yes this happens all the time you win a game or 2 and your playing with mlg meta players jumping and sliding around and get absolutely destroyed
so toxic , calling people trash
That's how SBMM works. You are guaranteed to win 50% of your games and guaranteed to lose 50% of your games, and it sucks and that's why people hate it.

They arent scared. They just want kills. All team based modes are dumb because no one wants to play as a team. Everyone plays as individuals that's it.

I use to call those marksmen lobbies back in black ops3 😂

You guys are wimps!! Go chill in a Roblox Lobby!!
I don't mind carrying, as long as i can get kills and not sit in a corner for half of the game just to get a positive ratio.
I think lobbies are stacked to ensure certain results. Meaning if you win you'll not only get competitive lobbies but you'll also get the lower tier of the bracket to make it more likely your next game will lose to balance out
The problem with backing out is usually they throw you into another game that is almost half over again

The biggest problem with the Sbmm is absolutely the disbanding lobbies because you can actually stay in a lobby you like
When i see people drop shotting and going the distance to not get killed I just leave immediately. They want a challenge and I just want to chill so it works out for both.
This should comebacl for sure, I've made rivals and good friends cuz of static lobbies.
Yeah and it will read 6 shots when you jiggle peak a corner. I'm okay with sbmm but not hit reg or dmg
I noticed this too.
i think it is not or not exclusively, because the better you get, the less good players there are in your region with whom the game could throw you into a lobby, i.e. in the end the server on which you play will be further away and the ping will increase...sbmm...sadly not a ping based matchmaking :D
One of the most important things in any video games is the feeling of being rewarded as a player for getting better at the game. The way that it used to happen is that you were really bad at the beginning and as you were focusing on improving you could see you’re getting more kills and winning more matches. The dopamine you’d get from that was unlike any others.
Nowadays, that almost never happens, cause you are constantly getting punished for getting better, and it actually never feels like you are getting better because you keep putting into sweatier lobbies.
theyve found that anger and frustration equals better micro transactions; so thats what they promote, unethical rigged game its all there is to it!
Ive never understood this, maybe im just pessimistic but without SBMM I feel no improvement, it never feels like I am getting better it feels like I just got lucky and vsed worse players, with SBMM I feel that, if my enemies are improving so am I
maybe Im the outlier but my default response without SBMM is "Damn these guys suck" not "damn I am good"
@flamingscar5263 the only way you could think that is if you're bad at the game
@@xerxes5785I wasn't responding to you

I think the killstreak system is more significant when it comes to objectives. Bo3 gave you 200 per capture and kill while capturing. This meant 2-3 kills on a point for a uav. It heavily rewarded objective play, and the modern iterations do none of that.
I think xclusiveace posted a video about this as well, some time back.

Stop playing FPS games to relax. I hate that argument/line of thinking. Everyone wants to be good at the game too, no one likes to get shit on
I got to experience SBMM first hand myself.

The fact that even the beta has sbm is absolutely breathtaking, great job Activision!
It’s crazy. I can almost excuse every nightmare cod has implemented or every perfect mechanic removed if they could just take out sbmm. Cod would have my full and undivided attention if it would go back to connection based matchmaking.

At least in my experience.
jfc imagine having to do this just to enjoy a game

And then if you do improve, your reward is to endlessly get ruined.
Your sense of accomplishment is ruined when you know the game threw you a bone because it was worried you'd log off. With ping based matchmaking you could fully track your skill progression and see your improvement or play with people who dunked on you and learn their strats. SBMM takes all of that away. I can't deal with the rigged gunfights & squad spawns. Sht is driving me to insanity
No one wants SBMM.. we want to have fun and relax..
Even if such a system exists. It doesn’t work on me. Still have a 7kd while dropping 40+ kills every game. I think once you’re past a certain skill threshold it doesn’t matter any more.
@@pubplays368 so as long as your sweaty ESoprts player it's ok? 😂😂😂
I really really miss lobby leaderboard and being able to see other people's K/D W/L... Ugh man...SBMM will forever prevent this
No lie I used to play cod for like 4 plus hours a day.
@@anthonylong5870just sold yourself out as a dogs**t gamer bro

The issue is the people who look at guides that come out in the first month setting metas on CoD are the minority.
SBMM exists to deal with people like you who treat CoD as a ranked meta rather then just try to have fun match by match using whatever random combination of guns, attachments, perks, and non-meta.
Didn't help when the first infinity left. This new one has been swimming in their wake since. Not a good game anymore. Hollow.
I honestly believe SBMM is one of the main reasons why modern day CODs don’t feel as good as cod 4 - bo2
YEEEEES, been saying this since 2015/2020 ..
seeing a 200 to 201 in domination is so nostalgic for me, that is something i havent seen in a long ass while
Completely agree.
Well this conversation can end, by never buying these games again.
That Ace clip was legendary and proves the SBMM cam be easily exploited, I just have too much pride to tank my stats to get those kind of lobbies
Feels like there’s just no casual fun to be had in shooters lately. I find myself getting angry more than actually having fun.
@@DB1Journeysthat’s how cod used to be and that’s why everyone loves those cods
It’s needs to be removed. Why advocate for it be loosened but not removed? Are you without logic?
Thank you 🙏🏽
In theory, yes, its fair. You are facing people of similiar skill...but not nearly the same connection quality. So in reality, i have to somehow play my best, while also playing with double the ping as everyone else....how the F is that fair? Lol
This whole thing is stupid and needs to be removed, or SERIOUSLY reworked
You made some really good points. I went back to the older cods since 2019 for one major reason: zero delay in getting into lobbies and actually playing the game. Im way too high to be sitting around watching the algorithm find me a match at 150+ ping after every match. As much as I dislike the new system Id be willing to put up with it if they threw me into the game more swiftly.
This is why XDefiant will never lose hype
You do know Xdefiant will have SBMM, right.

For that reason I will be on xdefiant just because they said there is no SBMM
Decided this year I’m finally done with Call of Duty. I’m getting older and life has too many things going on for me to want to “relax” on a game that forces me to try my hardest at all times. I always used to wonder how anyone got enjoyment out of single player games and sports games but here I am playing those exclusively these days. I miss what Call of Duty used to be and will always remember the great times my friends and I had on it. But it’s not meant for people like me anymore.
Same here!
I went to Gran Turismo 7 and have actually been enjoying myself with video games once again.
I haven’t felt that way about COD for years!
Even the sports games are bad these days. look at madden and 2K. They release crap after crap every year but yeah I see what you’re saying.
NOBODY PRE-ORDER. NOBODY BUY BUNDLES. NOBODY PLAY COD UNTILL ITS CONNECTION BASED MATCHMAKING
My k/d has been at .99 since the day i started playing MWII. No matter how hard i try i cannot get 1.00 k/d. It never goes up or down. On every other cod i’m a 1.20-1.60 player (i’m a rushing sniper)

Try "searching for ping over 125ms....." - at that point, I back out or just shut the game off. I've been in a LOT of lobbies people weren't even speaking English. That's problematic when you're factoring in netcode and a higher TTK.
For sure!

I only play free for all because of this
Shipment ruined my kd for me before I had like a 1.4 kd as I started playing shipment for weapon camos 1.4kd-0.70 kd my win loss ratio is 0.45 I’m the one that carries my teams
Don’t forget the patents with buying things. That gives you a boost
SBMM reason I ain't buying it along with everyone else I used to play with 🤣 Used to be a game where had fun, if wanted to sweat I'd go the gym 🤣
Your the first UA-camr I've seen address this issue. These lobby's are so sweaty, it makes mw2 feel like a breath of fresh air.
mw2 lobbies were terrible.
so if this game makes that game look casual.. im not touching it.
@@shinski8114mw3 beta is decent. Way better than MW2.
@@shinski8114 people are saying it won't be so bad once the open beta starts.
Buy cod points and that goes away for a couple games tho 😂
Such a joke of a game and mw3 will be the same
You guys are just wimps plain and simple
I have 2.15 kdr in mw2, my only concern with sbmm, eomm is the wait time to find lobbies, it feels like forever to find a lobby.
Everyone worse than me is a bot, anyone better is a sweat
I am perfect
In MP i am the middle man, not good not bad. I also haven't played Cod since CW because of the horrible match making.
Every match was like playing a match of ranked. Not to mention I also matched up against call of duty pro players like zooma, octane, parasite, censor. This beta was sooo sweaty.
Pretty sure the company fed you to them to farm for their streams. The rabbit hole goes deep.
That shit happens to me all the time. I go to A flag all the time, usually by myself, and I say y'all better be getting B flag. But nope. I get A, my teammates go do nothing. They just die while trying to rush into engagements
Getting your spawn flag means nothing lmao. Need to take b dummy. That’s prob why they are dying, going for b while you cap spawn for free.
Ranked is where SBMM belongs, not casual. But they have to protect the terrible players otherwise they won’t spend money on the game.
I don't want to play against complete bots, I want variety like the old days.
I feel your pain with the insta-melt. 5-6 bullets according to the game but on my end it’s instant. I’ve been screwed ever since Cold War. Top 2% KD and it’s been downhill since. 3:18 is so true. On bo2, I had my area code in my clan tag and people in the lobby would always talk about it since we were from the same area
It's team ffa
If they reintroduced mods and mod support for CoD along with a server browser, it would fix so many of these issues! 🤦♂️
About that MW2019 k/d thing
According to Cod tracker the average K/D went down in mw2019
People who would normally have 1.0 k/ds had 0.9, people who had 2.0s were around 1.5 etc
That analogy is amazing 🤣

When you talked about how draining sbmm is, I felt that. I am burned out after an hour or two, when I used to play sun up till sun down for weeks on end.
If you play everyday and practice sbmm doesn’t really matter. It’s the skill based damage you gotta worry about.
