    This was enlightening... he has rightely said there is no meaning of any money while dying... no matter how much you own. This comes only after hardships , experiences and knowledge. ....very much true

    Having kids is not an investment, but rather to get a sense of caring/compassion - it teaches you be less selfish, more forgiving, and ability to compromise.

      Yes but in order to learn about being less selfish, more forgiving and ability to compramise there are lots of other ways as well than to have kids. Having kids is not the only way to learn these things which you mentioned

    That’s a nice different perspective on time especially the one he said “I dont set alarm to start/close a work or set 30 min to complete reading. It need to flow as we need to live in the moment, best one is when he said - probably that’s the last moment 👍🏼

    Loved this opinions on life, money and savings. This guy knows what he's talking about and has done his homework in and out. What I didn't like is him not having kids. Such deep thinkers like Parag need more of his successors to carry his legacy and thoughts. Having kids is awesome guys don't miss out.

    Had heard Paras long time back in one of the virtual hackathons during covid. But this IV today he seemed completed different than what I imagined him to be. It’s rare to find so much of clarity in thoughts and decisions.

      In my perspective the reason to have kids is to help you explore the world and make sense of it. If you don't have kids, you do the figuring out yourself through whatever you find enjoyable and meaningful. Both are fine

    Makes me wonder if FIRE is just a fear induced way of leading a life, where most of the times you will be defensive. Another approach could be choosing to embrace the chaos of life and working with it. FI (financial independence) is important but RE (retire early) may be a bad place to be in.

    Dude is speaking from such a privileged place.. It doesn't apply to everyone.. each and everyone case is different ... some people have to do hard labor and can't really get paid enough.. as Shahrukh Khan says.. become rich and then become a philosopher. . this person has exactly become that.. Some people have it easy and some people just don't No matter how hard they try..

    Every word, every answer absolute gold, pure gold. Absolutely loved the end part where he was talking about time would love to have something similar in my life as well. However at 10:00 where he said men have it easy and its 95% of mother's responsibility is somewhere lacking a deeper thought and understanding, maybe because he never thought about it in a way of having kids him self. I'll just tell you one line sir, " A mother might carry the weight of a baby for 9 months in her womb but a father carries the weight of the baby on his shoulder for his entire life. " Not necessarily a parent has to think of being dependent on the kid for his old age, as a matter of fact, if you do choose to have a baby, they owe you nothing but you owe them everything, its a tough choice but it is the way it is. Thankyou.

    Kids are not Investments.. they are your contribution to a civilised society...if all nice youngsters think of not having a kid , I can imagine where the society will lead...we owe that much to our society

      That's a nice thought. Knowingly or unknowingly, we benefit in so many ways from society. Having children can be seen as a way of giving back to society when we are too old to do so.
      Instead of being selfish and thinking my children should take care of me when I'm incapable, we should raise decent human beings who add value to the society when we no longer can.

      There are 1000 other ways to contribute. Not just to produce kids randomly
      There are millions of children wandering on the roads, they need a good lifestyle, education ,care , love. Give it to them and apart from that no problem in giving birth to one child if it is not a result of lust, greed or fear of old age.

    All good thinking by the person who was answering the question. The only place where he was shallow was where he said people expecting children to take care of them, expecting one person taking care of another person is not logical etc., there he went western way with no emotions and shallow thinking. Though I agree these days there are children who do not take care of their parents.
