3 guys with minimal instruments. And maximum talent.. and they rock the house 👍.. and now days musicians have the best of if everything and six guys can’t even come close to these guys .!
They had an original look (well, updated look) and a modernized take on old rock n roll. Then BS is a really good guitarist, the others are Really proficient on their instruments. A winning soup!
I'd say synth was only just becoming popular in the UK around then. They fitted in with the punk attitude of bands like the Clash. Rockabilly had its niche in the UK in the 80s.

Wow, this live recording sounds much better than the studio original. Also the tone of the Brians guitar is a bit weird, it sounds like its changing a pitch, adding more "mystery" to the song. I love that.

Kind of a mid-scoop approach, maybe. Glad about the shining Vocals and the almost hi-fi bass, though.
Guitar is mixed fine. Perfect for not muddying the vocals as a rhythm instrument, but comes through fine when soloed.
