@@pandadoublexl Of course, it's all in the very early stages (especially with what the average person can currently use) and anything to do with AI currently will be laughed at within just a few Years. It's inevitable imo sadly that it will take over quite a lot and what you see now is 100% irrelevant to what you will see in the very near future. It's def. a bit scary just how much it will be allowed to take over but it's a matter of when not if.
@@hype88 I'm sure it will get much better very quickly. I am just referring to all these "AI covers" on youtube that pretend like AI has totally changed the style of the song when all they have done is found a cover of the song in X style and used a voice model to change the vocals. It's one of my bug bears.

I think he got the 1992/3 Billy voice quite close though.
@@gothfather8741 technically speaking I think this guy has a much better voice than Billy, but Billy uses virtually entirely head voice, through to falsetto even, & really punches out the consonants for power. This guy is using power from his chest voice to give punch - a far more traditional (& probably more crowd pleasing & consistent) way of singing, but a COMPLETELY different technique to what Billy uses.
Now that was a good Billy Corgan impression!

This ticked every single Pumpkins box while somehow not sounding like a Werid Al-esque parody. It just genuinely sounded like a Pumpkins tune. This is extraordinary. It really goes to show how arrangement can utterly change the vibe of a song, and is possibly the most essential component to the recording process.
This is exactly why I love covers. This is done so well. I want a full album of these and would put it on repeat.

I think you guys are the only ones that can actually gets the nostalgic, melancholy vibe of this band right. I know everyone's just giving Mac shit for geeking out and giving the performance of a life time, but I've listened to this a few times now on almost the verge of tears. So thanks for making this.
Just in case you wanted some unsolicited discussion and ranting, which nobody does:
Bands like Weezer and the Pumpkins had a huge guitar sound, but they really didn't have as much "low end" in their guitar tracks as everyone seems to think. Maybe it's a great thing because the overdubbing can give you that "wall of sound" illusion, but those guitars were really a lot "brighter," "crunchier" and more "airy" than you'd think and they were using a Clipper in order to get that loud, "almost peaking" sound to them. Almost all of the low-to-low-mid range is coming from the bass guitar and drums.
If you listen to the isolated bass tracks from the grunge era - they're on UA-cam if you search for them - you'll find that those guys were attacking the strings on the more aggressive side, so there was a sort of sloppy grit to the bass lines. This is what really layered well and gave the songs their entire "crunch". If you try to get more low end from the guitars, they can get a bit muddy and you can lose your definition.
That guitar tone is perfect, great job all around!

lol Dookie was the first CD I ever chose out for myself right after it was released when I was in middle school, so it's really important to me... and The Smashing Pumpkins were really important to me and the first girl I dated later in the summer between middle and high school.
So when I say this is SUPREMELY WELL DONE, I'm saying this about a mashup of two things I super love, which hold IMMENSE personal meaning for me, which usually fails more than it succeeds, imo. So fucking BRAVO!!!!!!
