- If Nirvana's - Nevermind was performed by 12 different bands/artists it may sound a little something like this...
Let me know your fav in the comments :)
I tried to broaden the musical spectrum this time around including rock, metal, punk, funk and more including full bands and a couple 'solo' artists too.
There’s also a couple of Easter eggs in this video... see if you can find them and let me know.
What album should I do next?

Ozzy polly, probably. How about doing Paranoid as the next album seeing as this year is the 50th anniversary? Great work.
I just wonder how "the man who sold the world" would sound if it was by davd bowie

Yeah, sans the "hey"s in the chorus, lmao. Perfectly accurate, but would get so annoying
The impression is good, but i don't think Green Day should cover Lithium.
The Weezer cover for Come As You Are actually sounds like a lost Wheezer song. It fits so well!

That Megadeth interpretation of Territorial Pissings is fantastic. I almost saw and heard Dave performing that.

it really was 💯
That backup vocal towards the end and the little major/minor shift. Absolutely nailed it.
That was seriously so good I had to listen to it like 3x. D00d, I want a full version of Fat Mike doing Drain You! Amazing!!! You are insanely talented.
@@marlboroboy1 Yep, he got the IV major to IV minor turnaround that NOFX always does in there. And the backup vocal is what Fat Mike calls the "Mel Yell" because it's always done by Eric Melvin.
The Megadeth one was horrifyingly accurate.
Yeah it sounded freakin awesome!
it sounded like it came off straight from Cryptic Writings
Ya
This is actually probably how some songs are written… David Bowie wrote “heroes” copying the feel of the velvet underground ‘ waiting for my man.”
And Def Leppard wrote “hysteria“ partly copying David Bowie “heroes…“ at least some of the chord changes and the Robert Fripp melody guitar part.
Exactly 💯...why he have to ruin the rest of that gem set with Megadeth Christ!
Dude, Lithium and Green Day was such a good pairing! That's a song that needs a full version!
Yes
It definitely gives me green day vibes
Agreed
Look up to the coverups - drain You cover ( Billie Joe n Friends band)
Yup
This almost felt like it was twelve bands all got together and made a tribute album in honor of Kurt. The last one literally tore me apart because, really, David's music always sounded beautiful when it had its certain tune there, and to take David's song and play it in the way Kurt would (which he did anyway with The Man Who Sold The World), but just made me cry in the end how it sounded. Everything else on here though was like "Wow, that is EXACTLY what they would sound like and how they would play it. This was just all amazing. Keep up the awesome work.
Is no one going to talk about that brilliant Megadeth cover of Territorial?! He did a brilliant Dave Mustaine impression, using his gritty voice for the verse and his melodic voice for the chorus. I never thought about it, but Territorial does sound like a Megadeth song.
That Lithium-Green Day is literally so accurate...may we get a full version....?
Okay, the Megadeth is also hella good
Have you ever seen Green Day playing Drain You?
Yeah it sounded like longview Bc of the bass then to fast and loud guitar

Green Day- Lithium and Megadeth- Territorial Pissings are amazing and so accurate. Green Day almost seems like their song.
I love how you played “Something In The Way” to the tune of “Space Oddity.” That REALLY works!
Your Megadeth impression is absolutely incredible.
LoL indeed. I've never heard a better Dave Mustaine impression.
His Dave Mustaine is spot on!
Thank you :)
Also the song choice was a spot on for Megadeth
Vintage Foreclosure-of-a-dream Mustane take off! Brilliant.
Wow! Lithium - Green Day sounded so authentic that for a second I passed in to an alternative reality where Lithium was actually a green Day song.
I read this while it came on and that song is perfect for Green Day
I swear I’ve lived in this same alternate universe
3 years later and this is still one of the best music related videos on the platform (excluding reviews, live recordings, etc)
as a MASSIVE fan of both David Bowie and Nirvana, my favorite one was easily Something in the Way lol. I would really love to see a video where the theme was "doing x album/song/etc but in the style of different Bowie albums/eras". just for the sake of an easy example, I'll use Nevermind.
Teen Spirit would be in the original style obviously
In Bloom would be weirdo psych pop meets art rock like Space Oddity
Come As You Are would be experimental psych rock like The Man Who Sold the World
Breed would be theatrical and epic piano based pop rock like Hunky Dory
Lithium in the glammy art rock Ziggy era
Polly would be soul inspired pop rock like Young Americans
Territorial Pissings would be manic experimental funk rock like Station to Station
Drain You would be in the ambient synth-infused art rock of Low
etc etc
eventually you would work up to a version of Something in the Way (or possibly Endless, Nameless?) in the style of Blackstar.
idk lmao, just my two cents/nerdy rant/comment essay that no one will read 💀💀💀
The Megadeth cover is perfect! Not only did you nail Dave Mustaine's voice, but the lyrics sound like something that he would write!
Not sure what's more impressive...how well the songs on Nevermind hold up across other genres, or this guy's ability to emulate everyone.
On point! Kurt was a rock&roll paragon and a great melody writer.
Nirvana were a one off, I loved the rawness of Bleach and I adored Nevermind.
Personally I think that this video is great, I can’t get over how much talent this guy has, to emulate all these styles is amazing
Indeed Ryan, the guys is Slap

The answer: Both.
The amount of vocal diversity is nuts

Short of actually being the person and having their vocal quirks... he nails it!!!!!

the real feat here is that he is able to not only imitate people, and write music in the style of others, but he's done a great job of making the production sound spot on as well! That's arguably the hardest part.
Thanks Ethan! I spent probably longer on mixing and ‘tone hunting’ than I did the actual production side, almost every ‘band’ had their own mix of guitars, vocal chains, drums and EQ so it was quite an adventure. Thanks for noticing!
