  • Here is a very simple DIY job.
    If you begin to notice a sort of battery drain where your vehicle's battery tend to have insufficient power to crank the engine after being parked for about 2 - 3days, this component (HFL BLUETOOTH MODULE) May be the culprit.
    In addition your hands-free functionality will not work properly. Voice command may tend to ask you to repeat each command continuously without executing.
    Happy DIY moment.

    Thanks for the video.
    Can we use 2010 Bluetooth module which allows music streaming on a 2009 Mdx?

    Is there only one of these module in the car? I have seen other videos showing different location then what you are showing.

    • @emmapilex
      @emmapilex  2 роки тому

      Yeah, I guess so. 04 - 06 Models have it on the overhead interior lighting console. For 2007 - 2009, and i guess up to 2013, it is as located in this video between both front seats.
      Thanks for the observation 👍

    After replacing the HFL module, I'm still not able to get the HFL work. My vehicle is a 2009 MDX. I'm wondering if it needs any kind of programming or resetting? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

      Sorry about this late response boss.
      It should be a sort of plug and play. No programming required.
      Did you sort it out?
      Curious to know what you found.
      Regards

      some problem after changing like discharged battery

    • @emmapilex
      @emmapilex  2 роки тому +1

      @@danielmoreno8615 Do you mean the SUV still have a battery drain problem after HFL Bluetooth Module replacement? If so, then it is likely the problem may not be the module.
      Something else to try is the Radio set. It is also known to cause battery drain on the Acura MDX. Simple troubleshooting step will be to pull the fuse (Audio) underneath the dashboard on the driver's side, by the wall next to the handbrake pedal. Leave it it out for a day or two and see if the battery drain problem persist.
      Good luck

    How do you set up the new blutooth module? Its saying state a code, idk what to do help

    • @emmapilex
      @emmapilex  3 роки тому

      The new HFL device should not require a code for set-up. Your phone though, will need that for pairing. Please clarify the concern.

    How did you trouble shoot the problem that showed the module was bad??

    • @grillbuster1519
      @grillbuster1519 4 роки тому

      One way is just touching the module when the car is off. If it’s warm or hot, it’s on when it shouldn’t be on. If your battery is randomly draining and your alternator is good/etc, this is a pretty common problem with this vehicle.

    • @emmapilex
      @emmapilex  3 роки тому

      There are several ways to troubleshoot battery drain. From experience, i must tell you that @Grill Buster nailed it right there with that comment. Would have done one, but lots of video abound on youtube regarding battery drain troubleshooting. However, it is always a good approach to leverage on the commonly known problems others have experienced (and eventual solutions) in cases like this.
      Let me add that you will need to leave your car parked and turned for a couple of hours, preferably overnight before doing the warm feel check on the HFL to rule out weather effect. I guess this also depends on where you live.

    What is this

    • @emmapilex
      @emmapilex  4 роки тому +1

      How do mean?
      If you meant Hands Free Link (HFL), then it is that component in the car that enables bluetooth connectivity between the car and a bluetooth device like a mobile phone. It allows you to make and receive phone calls using voice command and certain buttons on the steering wheel without actually touching your phone.
