I absolutely love this guide, it's not just 'hey here's how to play a shaman, get this gear, get these gems, etc' but it's also made by someone that genuinely loves their class and gets other people excited to play it too. Hats off!
Just started playing an elemental shaman, is this guide works wonders. You sir have earned, a like, favorite and a subscribe ! Keep up the good work ! I will continue watching at least
This was the single greatest guide I've ever seen and I just want to say thank you for all the amazing information you gave about the Elemental Shaman, I have a lot of studying and practice to do now after watching this. Thank you Tuskeh :)
Great shaman guide. Just was wondering of any useful macros. I was hoping for a section for this in your video but you never mention it. Keep up the good work.
Heya! Well, I only use a couple of macros, but I don't think there are any really big ones that impact gameplay a lot. I know that most players macro Spiritwalker's Grace to their Ascendance, but with Lightning Bolt no longer being castable while moving in Warlords of Draenor this will likely go away, so I didn't want to include it this close to expansion release. Other than that, I use a stopcasting macro for my wind shock to make sure I can get clutch interrupts going: #showtooltip Wind Shear /stopcasting /stopcasting /cast Wind Shear You want more than one /stopcasting in there, apparently. I'm not sure why but that's just the way of it!
Thank you for this great guide. I am a mace to the face shammy. But I have been asked to be able to be ranged for some heroic fights. This guide makes me feel alot more comfortable doing so. Thank you so much! :)
wow man. you are a fricken awesome shaman. you are so smart and happy-spirited. I think that's awesome. Im subbing and going to be watching your videos a lot more!
Hi Tuskeh. A big fan of both your video's and your gaming attitudes! I Have very recently gotten back into playing WoW after a 3 year break and I must say I am massively enjoying it. However so much had changed that I had to re-learn the game in many areas. I Very almost deleted my Shamen, but stumbled across your guide on Elemental Shamen just in time and decided to get back into it. I am so glad that I did. However, since the 6.0.2 patch my DPS just doesnt seem to be keeping up with friends. HELP!
I'm making a 6.0.2 Elemental Shaman guide right now! I'll release it ASAP, and it will cover the fact that the Elemental Shaman is kind of middle-of-the-road in terms of damage. However, there are LOADS of ways you can compensate and become much more than just a DPSer - there's so many different things you can do to help a group succeed, and that's what'll make Elemental so awesome.
No clue if you still reply, though I have a question I've been looking into some guides and they're saying to keep the T15 4 set piece in SOO and I wanna know when do I need to replace it, or switch it off in certain fights with T16 tier piece etc.
WOW!! That's an amazing guide. I can only hope you make another when WoD comes out (maybe shorter, dealing with changes, etc) Really really incredible material. I'm recently coming back to wow, so many changes to keep up with. For PvE Raiding, what race do you consider best for Elemental atm ? I hear racials aren`t much imbalanced anymore, but would appreciate hearing your insight
Thank you for your kind words! I'll definitely make an updated guide for 6.0, 6.1, 6.2, etc. They'll likely be shorter. Anyway! When it comes to the races, you can go with any race and do just fine (the DPS difference is pretty low). That being said, Trolls are technically the best with their berserking, but it's not huge. Additionally, with the Warlords of Draenor changes to racials, the message becomes even clearer: pick the race you want! Whichever you think is coolest. (Trolls
I don't cast Elemental Blast instantly. You may be seeing some of them triggering from my mastery - it has a chance to duplicate my spells, instantly. This, combined with one of my talents, Echo of the Elements (which does the same thing) means that my spells are going out very fast, and there's a lot of duplicating.
I've been fiddling with the annotations for this video for a while. I'm not sure if my browser is just rubbish or they're legitimately broken. If they don't work for you, let me know. I've included timestamps in the description, too.
Hey you were talking about being a good raider, and please don't get me wrong I'm a nice person but its hard when other people are assholes, for example i was preforming the Siege of Orgrimmar raid and when we got to the inner sanctum with General Nazgrim some warrior and all of the healers started harassing me and purposely aggroed the general before the group was ready and blamed me and the group kicked me, do you have any advice?
Timothy Alleyne In PUGs, the best you can hope to do is to keep your head down, do your job, and be 100% understanding with people. If people are intent on harassing you for making mistakes, then apologize (even if you think it wasn't your fault - better for the raid to succeed by people concentrating on it rather than on each other) - if someone is intent on harassing you for no reason, then ignore them. The best thing you can do in situations like that is to not react. Don't give people like that any kind of ground by reacting to them. It can be very difficult, but ignoring them and getting on with your job is for the best. Sometimes, people are just arseholes - and there's nothing you can do about that. It sucks, and behaving nicely can only get you so far, unfortunately.
Thank you man. You really have a mature point of view on this so again- thank you. I'll take your advice to heart and try my best to practice this. Again Ty for the help and happy raiding. :)
np Tusk, i was just impressed with the clarity of what you were saying, its easy to understand and you cover the advanced part of the class too, the quality of the intro .. nice job :), a good job all around, please do keep these guides comming.
Tuskeh i can't say how amazing i think your guide is !! I'm new as an Elemental Shaman (i always played fire mage/shadow priest) and this is absolutely well organized, explain and ... i have no words dude.. really xD... I'm writing cause i have a little but important question ... as a pve player which professions are best for making better a dps???? (side note: just in case, i'm resto shaman as an off-spect )... I was thinking in going first for mining-jewcrafting and then deleting Mining and going for tailor... what do u say?
In lower level gear, the damage amplification is not worth the global cooldown, especially if you're not talented into it! That's as far as I know, anyway.
Hi Tuskeh, i know this is outdated but i wanted to ask how do you deal with stacking haste buffs. Do we risk losing dps by stacking them and going under 1.0 cast time? I'm a troll like you so i have berserking aswell :)
Riccardo Ficarra I think going under a 1.0 second cast time is a very, very, very slight reduction to DPS, but I've never seen it impact me negatively. As long as it doesn't happen constantly (the only time it's ever happened to me is during the pull, where I have berserking, bloodlust, and all of my trinkets proccing at the same time), you should be fine.
So SimCraft said my dps is 165k my ilvl is 542, and when I got to a training dummy, doing the correct opening, I start at about 160k and then starts dropping dramatically once I hit my regular rotation, I drop to 110k and lower depending on the fight.
Is it me or is that the Legend of Dragoon soundtrack I'm hearing? It's very nostalgic. But anyways, great guide! I've took a break from my monk but Shamans especially ele are hands down the most fun class I've played.
I would probably aim for haste over mastery in PVP, but this isn't a terrible starting point. I'm not terribly experienced with PVP, so take my suggestions with a pinch of salt.
Mainly with the gemming for starters. I was under the impression that once to a certain point that mastery becomes way more viable to your class than intellect. I haven't seen any shamans at my item level run any brilliant gems. I'm just curious as to why you do so. I normally run straight mastery and int/mastery.
Cameron Lamb As do I. The gearing section is designed to get a low-geared Shaman started. I talk in the later sections about simming yourself and changing gems around. Perhaps I didn't draw enough attention to that, which is a mistake on my part.
One of the best tutorial video on youtube, by my humble opinion. Helpful, organised, modest and well presented.
Thank you very much!
Now im all excited, this better be informative :3!!!
I absolutely love this guide, it's not just 'hey here's how to play a shaman, get this gear, get these gems, etc' but it's also made by someone that genuinely loves their class and gets other people excited to play it too. Hats off!
I don't even play an ele shaman, but this definitely one of the best guides I've seen
Thank you for your kind words!
This is hands down the best guide I've watched. Sold! I'm playing Ele Shaman next
Exceptional work, i just got back into wow and i wanted to try a elemental shaman for fun, this is perhaps the best guide out there, well done lad!

How do you cast Elemental Blast instant, without Ancestral Swiftness?

anyway to contact you ingame, for more shaman lesson or something?
Hi! Great guide! Just a quick question.. You don´t use Unleash Elements in your rotation? Why?
In lower level gear, the damage amplification is not worth the global cooldown, especially if you're not talented into it! That's as far as I know, anyway.

what are those waves animation coming from your back? its from shield or shoulders?
Jatin Rane It's from the Mists of Pandaria legendary cloak, which unfortunately is no longer available.
Tuskeh ok thanx a lot and what about the elemental apparition that is spawning for a few secs on your dps rotation? its a passive or what?
That's the Mists of Pandaria tier bonus from Siege of Orgrimmar.
Is it me or is that the Legend of Dragoon soundtrack I'm hearing? It's very nostalgic. But anyways, great guide! I've took a break from my monk but Shamans especially ele are hands down the most fun class I've played.
Thank you for your kind words! Although I believe it may just be you. All music I used in this video was World of Warcraft music.
thank you for this guide.
I've never really played Shaman. I kinda might boost one to 90 to try it out in WoD.
hi do u still have weak auras from 5.4 ?
Does this guide apply only for PVE? Or can we implement the same for PVP? (In terms of stats, that is)
I would probably aim for haste over mastery in PVP, but this isn't a terrible starting point. I'm not terribly experienced with PVP, so take my suggestions with a pinch of salt.
"There's nothing like this in the Siege of Orgrimmar?" Towers on Galakras, heroic Mal'korok.
IT'S FINALLY HAPPENINGGGGGGG
Elemental or enhancement, which should I boost? Both look fun :(
Boost a Shaman! That way you'll have access to both. :D
Tuskeh Yeah, but what type of shaman :(
amazing video , subbed :D
Thank you for this.
awesome guide mate thx :))
Thanks UA-cam for recommending in 2020.
Love your videos and I was gonna ask can you update it to 6.0.2 or 6.0.3 which ever and ty
Thank you! I already have updated this guide. You can find it here: Elemental Shaman 6.0 Guide

well if its the same as this it sure will be
Thank you!
Nice guide subscribed :)
Esta guia tambien sirve para pvp
Is this Intro music not from Warcraft 3? :D
It is, aye - that's where it first appeared. But the song "Power of the Horde" can be heard in a lot of Blizzard games, including World of Warcraft.
So good excellent work please do update it for wod when it comes out. Subscried
I shall! Thank you very much for subscribing.
Remember when Ele could cast and move? Pepperidge Farm remembers
great video ! y i know im late :D
After 10years, thanks (im playing mop pserver xd)
I love you :O
red gems should be mast/int gems
A lot of the things you've said in this guide go completely against what I have learned as a shaman.
Aye? You've got me curious now.
Mainly with the gemming for starters. I was under the impression that once to a certain point that mastery becomes way more viable to your class than intellect. I haven't seen any shamans at my item level run any brilliant gems. I'm just curious as to why you do so. I normally run straight mastery and int/mastery.

Found this again, how far has Shaman fallen in BfA :(
