I keep expecting you to shout at me and call me a bitch and yell, "Stay hard!!!" And then talk about running 150 miles until your legs break. Thanks David goggins. 😂 (Good video, but I can't get past how you're a David goggins lookalike 😂).
You usually see alot of footwork drills online that won't translate over but this is a good 1. Practical and basic movements you always use with the addition of some weight. Solid base and fundamentals. Good drill
Time to get back into fighting (for discipline and well-being). It's been a minute and this video is exactly the calling I needed to wake up. Keep up the good work bro!
Thanks, Love this one! I started with 1 minute circuits to build endurance, now up to 4+ minutes each move = See more leg definition, and leaner torso. Much Appreciated!💪🏿
That’s crazy I’ve always trained with boots, always felt better for me since for some weird reason I always felt too light on my feet to the point of being unstable despite being 80lbs overweight.
I'm a delivery driver and I work in boots all day. I practice my footwork and stance all day, everyday. This explains why I feel so light on my feet when I put my running shoes on.

@@CHEZCANTERE will do brother🙌🏾💯and gonna squeeze in this footwork for tomorrow! and gonna organise when to practice other stuff from boxing I need to know so I can combine with the previous arts I’ve learnt 😎
Good deal! I enjoy watching other people's workout routines because I can always pick something new up. I never really thought about training in boots as an aid. I train in boots, tennis shoes, and such because I feel it is more realistic. If you are at the gas station and someone picks a fight you're gonna fight in whatever you have on at the moment, so that's how I train. I enjoyed your video and I'm gonna be going through your videos!
MY DAD USED TO TRAIN ME LIKE THAT WORK BOOTS AND TWO LBS HAND WEIGHTS THROWING A FEW PUNCHES HERE AND THERE JUST MOVING IN OUT AROUND “….U GOT IT TO THE POINT THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEOS TOOK ME BACK WITH MY DAD MISS U POPS RIP”
I love this! Gonna start implementing it. I used to be a wildland firefighter. Coming home and going for a run after working in boots and gear for 2 weeks straight was the best feeling ever.
I'm an amatures boxer and train in Greco wrestling in Greco we practice footwork for five minutes same thing as your showing here side to side and circle around I was wondering a drill or way to help my foot work like we do in Greco and how long interval wise and this video answered my question I ran into your channel truly was a blessing because I was getting a bit frustrated I felt like I was dragging my foot a lot and getting caught by taller opponents I learned something new and now understand why jack Dempsey is always doing road work with boots on I can tell you know what your talking about I will do these drills from now on during round 4 I start to feel my legs really heavy and that starts to mess with my mentality and focus and I feel like I spend so much energy by round 5 of sparring I feel gassed out gonna watch this channel more often.
appreciate you my bro!!! one thing for me is if you always start to gas out, i would add jump rope or a 2-3 mile jog right after training. this way you build up your 2nd wind!!!
Excellent video ! I had some begginer students in gym (I already had some experience), and tried just to teach them this. But most of them did not see the point. It is very beneficial...just because does not involve punching, it does help actually set up positions from which you can punch. But simple things like this can benefit in long run tremendeously. Glad you put this video and advice ! Thank you !
These drills are amazing and should be practiced daily to really see the results. The boots are an excellent idea. Sensei, I was wondering If you know how to incorporate a grunt walk or a shuffle. I'm learning these drills but to get to the next level I need more layers to my footwork. So that's where the slips, pivots, and mobilization all form into one cohesive shuffle which then expands into how well you can incoperate your pendulum into that.
For me, when it comes to the really small detailed parts of movement, this all has to be puzzled together with your intent. Are you using the steps to set up your shots or move away from danger? I’ll try and make a vid on this but once you can identify this, your footwork should become sharper
@@CHEZCANTERE I'm learning to piece things one by one. I'm learning to throw combos moving up, down, and laterally. I’m getting some Iron Clogs as they train you to grip with your toes. You can practice this further by oiling a mat and doing resistance training. My background is Karate, Boxing, Wrestling and Lacrosse.
Such a good video. One thing I notice if I wear a heart rate monitor while I do this, It helped me see I was overdoing it and not building up as well as I might if I slowed it down.
Man no way ! I work at a steel factory and jump rope on break with weighted rope but I couldn’t use any of my regular kicks so i used my steel toe and thought I looked like an idiot 🤣
Hey bro, great content. Personable, related in such a way make connections concisely in common parlance. The repeated pattern of technical definition followed by interpretive conversational queues to expand / outline further practice and application is something of a secret sauce in impressing on practitioners of any age or combat disposition fundamental links in the chain of decision making. Look I wouldn't have agonized a little over wording that entire previous paragraph if I didn't feel the downward pull of gravitas from the sussinctness In principle and practice. ... Even further explaining all that to say it's awesome to see. Martial arts, not to mention practicing them, has never failed to capture my attention as a fastenatning outgrowth of individuals that bends perpetually towards the unique and novel. Cheers mate, your true colors are showing! Lol. Cheers
Everything I recommend is your Stants. That needs a little work on it also. That is the problem when you wear workboots you tend to have the wrong footwork. That rear foot should be facing the direction you’re moving forward and backwards not out to the side because it does not help you move forward quick enough without spring on the toes. It also restricts movement forward and backwards also if you take note it takes a split second less to move flatfoot an hour to one side then it would if your feet are facing forward. At Shelter with of course
Two boxing great training with heavy boots like you Marvin Hagler and Saoul Mamby they use to run on the beach with heavy boots and used this kind of training true all they’re carriers I think you know them !
Problem doing this and work boots is it eliminates the use of the feet because the birds don’t have much movement of the ankle. I understand you won’t wait you can get weights you can rapper in the ankles but the idea of walking flatfoot is the strength and the muscle of the feet and get the toes and everything used to moving. Try it and see what I mean. They suggest to run barefoot also to strengthen the feet
Yes!!! I’ve been training with boots for a while. The backstory is I actually broke my 2 feet when I was younger in a random accident and training barefoot in sand and in boots helped to build them back uo
I always remember Marvin Hagler said he would run and train in work boots, and what a beast that man was. It doesn't need to to be complicated. Great work Chez great content.
