- John Spillane grew up in the Cork suburb of Wilton, in a family of five boys. He was educated in Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh, Bishopstown. It's Christmas Day in 2023, and I have been working through all your songs, John, that are on youtube. But this session was especially wonderful with all the history behind the songs. Thank you for making my Christmas full of all the music and people that I love best.
What stands out is this is so clear that you can hear the words and remember the story.
John is like a fine wine, he gets better with age.
