This car was looking so beautiful!
Who could have thought there was such a misery under this orange skin !
Always amazing to see how you can do whatever you want with a sheet of metal !
Delightful to look at your work!
Had to subscribe after watching this astonishing piece of craftsmanship
Before you know it you have built a complete new Manta, love this cars 😊
Just stunning Steve. There are many skills involved in this work, but I am fascinated by how you deal with, and work out all the layers. Simply brilliant. I love how some people still question you, as if you don't know what you are doing, I would advise them not to bother. I can't think of a better or more informative restoration channel than yours. Long may you entertain us.
Reading the comments below Steve, I don't want your head to get to big as it won't fit through though workshop doors lol. However, you have exceeded my expectations on this occasion, and kudos to you on a bloody good job.
I love your videos as there is less chat snd more craftsmanship at work. Its truly amazing what you can do and you make it look effortless. Oh, and the music is great. 👍
Im a diy welder on my car always trying to get more proficient, these videos are truly awesome and inspiring
Steve man you just did it again my friend you just performed a miracle before my very eyes 👀 ❤️. I wish 🤞 I could send a message around the whole world and tell everyone about your channel I just love it so much I love working with metal and especially cars I love figuring out how they are constructed etc. And your channel is the best I have learned things I didn't know was possible. For this I'm forever grateful for the privilege 🙏. To view your channel..take care and God bless
Steve your panel fabrication and rust removal is SUPERB!
Pure skill truly amazing. Proud to be a fellow Yorkshire man
Presented with that scenario, I wouldn't even know where to begin! Brilliant video Steve, no shenanigans, just graft. Love it! 😎
Love seeing your work
finally someone who think and work as i do. i quit my job though. if it is not fair - then stop bring them money.
Fantastic work

Brilliant craftsmanship
Beautiful!
Brilliant work
Absolutely brilliant 👌🏻
As always a great watch , top stuff steve.
bloody amazing steve !!!
Class act , I'd be super chuffed with that if I was the customer 👏👌🙌👍👍
Expert metal working 😊
Nice job. Those Manta's where nice but Opel's always liked the rust when kept outside. I am from Berlin (West) in Germany and my Grandma had a 1.9 litre Ascona and loved it. It was the greatest car in the world for me and I was sure that I am going to get me a Kadett, Manta, Ascona, Rekord, Diplomat or a Admiral, but was'nt sure which one it would be. 😂😊 Brings back memories. Thanks for showing such good work
Awesome work!!
It’s a pleasure to watch.
A true craftsman. 👍👍❤️
A beautiful car made good as new by your excellent work.
Fascinating to watch such awesome and admirable skills, the owners of those classic cars are fortunate to have found YCR 👌
Great work!
Holy Cow Batman
thats some lethal corrosion hidden away under the nice paint
:) watching your video's and craftmanship with the calm background music is very relaxing. Thank you again!
Ur 1st class brilliant trades man we could be doing with a man in our town😊
I love the video of your sculpture tacked in place in the end.. Before it is lost in grinding and painting to disappear into the car.. True art there.. A sculpture at work 🙏
Nice watching you work that metal your doing a great job some people don't realise how much work is involved when restoring cars 👍
As they say in the Glasgow area. Pure Dead Brilliant, nothing more to be said!
Steve that is absolutely amazing fantastic work you make it look so easy and it's anything but love it
Great work again Steve👍....and the car looked so nice to start!....Just shows you don't know what lurks beneath!
Thankfully you are the guys to save it!
Top stuff 👍
Amazing as always. Little tricks of the trade are ace. Welding the metal to a pair of L bars so you could manipulate the correct shape 👌
Brilliant work as always pal, a lot of professional dedication goes into you’re jobs and that I do like and respect. Fantastic 👌
Such a craftsman, amazing work. Beautiful car
Brilliant mate. New subscriber. Would love to learn the art of welding myself
Steve, you are a true professional, love watching you work.
Art
You make it look so easy.....and i know it is not.....love the channel!
Super!
Pure engineering artistry.
Steve u have talent , amazing skills
F’ing unreal, Steve.
MAGIC
top job!
It’s great seeing some of the real basket cases getting transformed, but this seemed like it was a pretty solid car it just shows what can lay behind a few layers!!!
Yeah the outside anyone can keep the rust off with good care, it's the moisture starting rust inside the structure, attacking untreated insides.
Cars rust from within, and there's no stopping it unless you cut the whole thing up right from the factory, paint it all like YCR does here, then weld back together.
how you fabricate plates and make it look amazing again is beond me !!!
Exceptional craftsmanship and expertise. Pleasure to watch.
Nice
The work you lot do is amazing 👍👍, keep these videos up they are great to watch.
Love ure work, quite a mission on all those sills, plenty rust!🤔😫😫😫😫👌👊🦾🦾🦾
Impressive work, true art!
At the height of my Manta / Cavalier Coupe obsession, I had 14 of them and I’ve done all these complex areas but not as quickly and with that level of perfection and skill. Brings back happy memories. Great work and great videos.
That was a really complex shape inside that panel - nicely done!
Amazing! Isn't it?
👍👍👍👍👍
Work of art ❤
Like the peeling of a rust onion...
Breath taking what a beautiful job it's almost a shame to cover up all those inner sill repairs
Cracking craftsmanship Steve as always. You just make it all look like it's no big deal. Warm regards from Ireland as always.
Though you did not show it, do you typically cover the inside of the sheet metal you fabricate with the Zinc Alum spray coating before welding them into place. BTW, thanks for showing it is Zinc Alum.
Absolutely something else👏👏
I’d love to know the weekly budget for cutting disks 😂
Ah yes. More YCR ASMR
Steve Brilliant craftsman, pleasure to watch you, can i ask one question, do you need to seem weld a rear arch on or are the spot welds enough to then fill over ?
Hi Jon. Yes deffo seam weld, the spot welds aren't enough. :)
Thanks Steve 😊
amazing work
Another great video, if it wasn’t for experts like you and customers with deep pockets these cars would cease to exist.
Great work Steve!!! Great Chanel
My OCD was kicking in wanting to saturate the remaining sill with ani-corosive stuff. Fantastic to see this gem being repaired by craftsmen.
excellent attention to detail
Brilliant 👏💪😎
Nice job Steve 💯
Fantastic work... but why do yo grind the old metal and then cut it off !
To make sure there is good metal underneath.
How is it on the other side?😮
I had the Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0 but with the Opel flat black engine in it, what a machine.
❤❤❤❤
To think i sold my golf4 because of some rusty spots on the jack points😅 still regret not keeping it. Would have been a prefect first rust repair job. Maybe if i found this channel sooner i would have had the confidence to tackle it. Keep up the awesome work👌
Still have mine after 19 salty winters in Canada
@@zedixe13 yeah mine was already rusted when i bought it. The tdi engine was a tank. Loved every mile with it.
You clearly take great pride in, - especially in hidden areas, - to make it look like there never was a rust repair to begin with !
The early mantas would be In my wish list garage
Love your videos. It looks like your delaying the inevitable when you grind the rust off those panels. They must be really thin after the grinder. Love watching your craftsmanship. A real art.
A couple of years ago I was around at a mechanics I've known for nearly 40 years think it was a Fiesta sill he was welding on I mean snotting on , you should be doing this for me , no chance I never did any MOT welding when I was asked to price I left most people shocked LOL . Nice job BTW .
When craftsmanship is acknowledged it bares the truth of many an MOT bodge acknowledged in full!!!!
Served my time at a Vauxhall dealers the mk1 Cavalier coupe and hatchback were my 2nd fave cars no 1 was the droop snoots , we had a Datsun dealers at head office loved the big 240 GT's and Z's rot boxes as you know LOL .
great
The owner must have been gutted at the amount of rot you kept on finding.😢
Yes at first. I’m so glad I brought it to Steve who uncovered and removed the rust.
I have the highest respect for his work.
There you go
You sir.. Are an artist! A metal artist. LOL
Great work again but I am still waiting for months for that Aston Martin - hope that wasn’t just click bait
Nope not click bait but we have to finish one first before we release another series :)
True welding GOD
When did the Mk1 Ford escort come in
Oh you mean the rs2000 😁
@@yorkshirecarrestoration yeh
@@carcult01 just :) it's being filmed for full restoration and should start to make an appearance after one of the others are finished :)
Why not prime with zinc primer inside that patch piece before weld? This be corroded after week in UK.
All of it was zink primed except for the price I did first and the reverse side of that is inside the car so that will be primed with 2k primer so no need to zink prime it. But thank you for your comment.
@@yorkshirecarrestoration Ok,i don't see on video you prime first couple small pieces. But i believe you 😁
My friend Mr. Angle Grinder
It's interesting how the previous repair peeled back around 3:53 was making things worse and the repair patch (by the time you removed it) was promoting rot and become as rotten as the hole it was covering!
Less music and more discriptive coment
Cool cars back in the day, I had one.
I don’t understand why someone would spend so much money to restore one though.
