If u have any issues with maf sensor just unplug it and drive...ecu will automatically run on a “safe map” which will make the car a lil rich but very drivable 😊
Also don't forget the DISA system, especially in higher mileage cars, that flap will start to rattle and eventually it will break off. There's metal pins holding the flap that can fall into the engine. I speak of experience on my 330i
great video mate we live in the uk and i must say i've had a few e46s and have never had any problems like what you have mentioned myself like, all cars if you do not look after them they will fail on you, thanks for the headsup will keep a close eye on the points you made.
Put a disclaimer on your videos, or description, that you're talking about m54 engine as many of us watching you, might have other type of engines. Like myself, i have n42.
Hi brilliant video but please understand that a few of us do not have so much indepth technical knowledge, please keep it a little simple with less of tech jargon,my background is medicine so sorry to say a lot of stuff does not make sense. There is another on going issue about the links to part sellers who do not ship outside US. I hope you hit 20k soon and even more in forecomming days. Good luck.
Hey Evan, great info you shared here for us. Another part that can cause catastrophic damage to the engine is the DISA valve. It would have been nice if you would have added this one to the list. Thank you for sharing knowledge. Best regards, Eric
I’m rebuilding my VANOS tomorrow on my 325i. Hopefully it ends my vacuum leak hunt and stops the lean codes p2240 and p2237. Any other ideas in case that doesn’t fix it? I’ve already done disa, ccv, front o2 sensors, fuel pump and filter (probably more but can’t remember)
My oil leak is too much for me to repair. I just keep praying to the BMW gods it can just keep getting me to work until I can do anything financially. Pretty sure gasket blown
My expansion tank had a split only leak a little bit till about 2 weeks ago it was having a little wee out the right of the E T now have a new one it lasted 18 years
Hey Evan, I'm almost sure that all fuel pumps are lubricated with the fuel. They are just overall poorly designed parts as with a lot of other e46 parts.
Evan my revs drop to a point to where it wants to stall when I active my climate control or when I turn my steering wheel while idle, do you thing this is to do with my alternator.. or is this normal
Misinformation at 3:00. 99.9999999999% of fuel pumps use fuel for cooling and lubrication (hence why the manual of any make of automobile will tell you to keep the tank above 1/4 full), infact, 99.99% fluid pumps of any application work on the same principle. It's still a poorly designed pump but not for the reasons you stated.
Hi Evan, I'm having a weird issue with the coolant level sensor (I believe) I had installed a new one from URO Parts without issue, but one day my alternator failed and the coolant light came on, I thought the sensor got toasted so I got a new one but the light is still on even though there's coolant and everything else is fine. Not sure if there's a fuse for that...Any ideas?
Hi Evan My cats on my 3.0 M54 are dead or dying. Can you recommend a good but not expensive (budget) catless headers with correct O2 bung placement, perhaps stainless? As well, would you know of a rear O2 bypass which you can plugin in to the rear o2 pigtails on the valve/rocker and fool to ECU that sensors are installed? Emissions are not the issue at my location. Advice gratefully received. :)
andrei put i would recommend you to repair as it should instead of trying to “trick” the system. Also its worth noting that not using a catalizator makes you produce much more pollutants which will go directly up to the atmosphere
They make a huge difference and help the weak shock towers by bracing them. I drive a lot on backroads and I have front and rear strut bars and they help a lot with body roll. I recommend them for 330i
I’m getting a “misfire with low fuel detected” could this be my fuel pump? Pretty much everything else has been replaced and I’m pretty certain my fuel pump has never been replaced (194k miles).

Just do the same thing lol
i do this to get pops and bangs
@@Christianhillis69420no you don’t..unless you’ve done a de-cat
Alternator / Battery is another common issue. An old (or even just drained) battery can cause lots of computer issues.

Nice video Evan hope you get 20k very soon
Thank you

Great video, useful tips!
Thank you
Cheers from Europe 👍🏻

Have you do the vacuum lines from the sap system to the back of the engine?
6x O rings on the intake air distribution system?
Me watching this video cold sweating in bed, I drop home with less than a qtr of fuel.
I have 2001 330ci that was driving fine car sat for a couple of days and now it turns over but won't start. Replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump?
Any codes?

Wow that’s some German engineering for you
Subbed. Keep it up man.
idling valve is number 7
Thanks for the info bro..
Didi you do your upholstery?🔥
Very informative; thank you!
Thank you for watching
Perfect timing cause my car shut off on me yesterday lmao
Damn.. that sucks.. I have to do my CCV.. just did my brakes and rotors 🤦🏽♂️🍻
Definitely do your CCV sooner rather than later or do a catch can

Great video bro 👌👊
Thank you
great content, keep it up
Thank you
Thanks for video
Links of maf sonsor for m54b22 ?
God bless you brother
Hey Ivan, I have a question. What dashboard light usually turns on with the 5th failure you mentioned. My engine light turned on wonder if that is it
Dcs light and brake light stay on. All the time?
Stuck
Evan my revs drop to a point to where it wants to stall when I active my climate control or when I turn my steering wheel while idle, do you thing this is to do with my alternator.. or is this normal
My E46 will break during every shakedown test 😅

The wiring for the sensor could be bad

Hi what are your thoughts on strut bars??
I have heard that the e46 do not really benefit from them. However I have not really looked into them
They make a huge difference and help the weak shock towers by bracing them. I drive a lot on backroads and I have front and rear strut bars and they help a lot with body roll. I recommend them for 330i
fucking hell my coolant died in my e46 ffs

That or the fuel filter
Just fixed 5 codes with low fuel cut off ect
If need advice

Damn no wonder why they say that the E46 330ci ain't reliable.
Lmao my thermostat broke on the highway with the expansion tank and the rad fan so yeah I’d kinda say the cooling system crap
Water pump? Ok let’s pretend those don’t exist.
Clutch fan on automatics? Ok let’s pretend those don’t exist.
Do you drink milk with your peanut and jelly sandwich?
