Girl, I only got to almost halfway of your video and, man, your info is AMAZING!!! I have 3 little dogs and am finding out what my options are if I decide to relocate from the States in America (NYC). Things here where I live is getting out of hand. Again, thanks!
Just found your channel and LOVE your style! I like your organizational skills with setting up the video format and care about your viewers time. Thank you for your knowledge and RESPECT of others. I trust you will be blessed in all you do in live. Peace to you!
Thank you for the brilliant and detailed video. I’m probably gonna go for the 20 year visa which is basically the same as yours but with the 400,000 extension which adds another 15 years. I have to make a decision in the next few days because they’re phasing out the current offerings and who knows how much the new options will be and what they’ll. consist of.
You are welcome! ☺ And you are right. I also got the news that they are phasing out the membership upgrades, which is a bummer. I wanted to do the upgrade in my 4th year of being a member, and not this soon. I'm still not sure if I will be staying in Thailand after 5 years. I suppose if your intent is to retire, then it makes sense to get the 20-year package right away. Anyway, the Member Center Contact (MCC) said they will release the details of the new packages sometime in October. I will make a video about that then. In the meantime, I wrote them feedback to consider excluding existing members from the discontinuation of the membership upgrades because the option to upgrade for 400k THB was part of the decision-making. At least in my case, cause I have the Philippines as my second option. Just FYI, before December 2020, the EEA was just 500k THB, and they bumped it to 600k. So that's a 100k difference! I won't be surprised if the new ones will increase by at least 100k THB. See this article: asia.nikkei.com/Economy/Thailand-hikes-price-of-5-year-visa-as-foreigners-seek-COVID-haven
@@VilmaValiant Thanks for the link. I've applied for the 20-year option. My agent told me I can just not pay and go through the process again if the new options are a better fit!
Love all your video's as they are informative & very precise on point... Keep up the good work & good luck to you ... Also i want to ask you, once you paid for the Elite visa, after how many days did you receive the Welcome letter & your membership ID etc... I mean i want to know the max time frame... Thanx in advance 😊
Thank you for the kind words! ☺️ If you will have your welcome letter (and the gift box) sent to your home country, then it depends on how fast they can send it. They will send it to you as soon as your payment was confirmed but you can arrange for when and where you want them to be sent. I had mine mailed to my accommodation in Bangkok because the letter won’t arrive on time if it was sent to Germany. I was on a tourist visa because I had to leave Germany at a specific date so I didn’t have to wait for the welcome letter.
Appreciate your reply... And your most welcome 😊... Basically what I want to ask is, I just paid online thru my credit card yesterday... I want to know max in how many days can I get the visa affixed on my passport when I fly in at suvarnabhum at the immigration... Gift & welcome kit & welcome letter is all ok & irrelevant to me for now ... Can I dm you... Can I have ur IG or Line if pssbl plz
@JohnSmith-ms1wy as far as I understand, this is a case by case basis so I’m afraid I don’t know the max time. All I know is that as soon as your payment is confirmed, you will be informed that they’ve added you to their system and once that’s done, you can discuss when you want your visa affixed. You need to contact the agent who processed your application and ask them. Or if you applied directly via Thailand Privilege official website, they should have a contact page. You need to make an appointment when you want the elite visa affixed on your arrival. They will need your flight details for the visa affixation appointment. I believe it’s pretty flexible, at least that’s what I’ve experienced.
Great information! I truly empathise with cat situation! OMG did you really fly back to germany to pick up your second cat?? 😢I am moving with my husband next year with our cat and its so stressful just thinking about all the documentation needed for our cat😢How were you able to make it within the 10 days stipulated by the Thai authorities for the health certificate before it expired considering all your flight cancelations?! Will appreciate a response and any advice. We are also considering the thai elite visa for our move. Thanks!
@remitran8489 Yeah, I couldn't fly with both cats even if I purchase an extra seat, which according to Lufthansa is not allowed. I spoke to different Lufthansa representatives throughout this experience and found some inconsistencies in their information, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was also incorrect. I left Tony as she's braver than her sister. She was doing fine thankfully, my friend updated me daily with pics. :D About the health certificate, it did expire by the time Tony and I reached Bangkok. I had to pay a fine. I just had to explain all the cancellations, well the EPA did. XD Talk to your vet, they should know what vaccines to give your cat and where you can get the health certificate. Note that some vaccines need to be given near the travel date. I would advise you to arrange your flights with your cat way ahead of time, at least 3-5 months in advance, and request an official confirmation. My mistake was I just spoke to a customer support agent when I was inquiring, and that, unfortunately, did not hold come boarding time. Depending on how easily scared your cat is, you might want to take them with you in the cabin. I heard horror stories about pets transported in the cargo. Cats are especially sensitive to new places, so having you close by is a great reassurance to them. I booked a premium economy (the seat with more legroom) so I can pull the carrier out of the front seat after take-off. The space under the front seat is too tight, they won't be able to sit and turn if you keep them down there. I also booked the shortest flight, with the least # of connections. Both of my cats were too scared to go to the toilet during the flight. I had to buy cat litter as soon as we landed. Oh, when booking your flight, make sure to have the right to fly in case some passenger complains about having a cat allergy. The guy sitting next to me said he was allergic to cats but when asked to move, he didn't want to give up his window seat. I had to move, thankfully someone offered their seat with the same leg space. I honestly thought he was just being a diva and didn't want cat hairs on his coat.🙄 Just prepare well and you guys will be fine. :) Good luck! If you need help with cat stuff, let me know. If I'm still in BKK by the time you move, I can help. :)
@@VilmaValiant Thank you so much for your response and all the invaluable advice! Hi, Thai Elite like to have the money transfer to Krung Thai Bank. If I like to send the 1 Mio BHT via WISE only three banks are allowed for fees >50k BHT: Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn Bank or Siam Commercial Bank. Does have Thailand Privilege Card Co.,Ltd an account there?
I paid via my German bank. So I’m afraid I do not know if Thai Privilige has other bank accounts. Did you apply by yourself? You can contact their support. Or if you work with an agent, you can ask them. They should be able to inquire for you. I worked with Miss Joo on my application.
@@louis20122 that's a completely understandable feeling. I would advise that you prepare and plan as much as you can, and research, research, research and you'll be alright! Regarding Thailand, it reminds me a lot of the Philippines, with all the messy cables out on the streets and the uneven sidewalks. 😅 But it's expected. There are still many pros to counter all the cons so I'm quite happy with my move. I have to admit though, I do miss Berlin's weather - that gloomy, cold weather. 🥰 Yes, I'm weird, I prefer the cold weather. 😂

I did a bit of googling and found this: www.imidaily.com/datacenter/thai-elite-visa-statistics/ It shows as of October 2022, there are 20,844 active members. I’ve researched other SEA countries with lower cost of living and Thailand is one of the few good ones with long term visa option. I think it boils down on the people’s needs and how much money they are willing to spend. It sure isn’t for everyone. Personally, the Thai Elite Visa is more for convenience with permission to stay long term in Thailand. If you do know of other long-term visas I might’ve missed during my research, do let me know! 😊
I wouldn’t call myself rich. It really depends where you are coming from and what your requirements are. For me, after doing some research, it was still cheaper to buy the Elite visa and live here compared to staying back in Germany. This program is targeted for specific individuals and definitely not for everyone. If the price is heavy, then it’s a good sign to steer clear of this type of visa and seek a more affordable solution.
