Best tips for starters . . . crouch, loot and scrap everything, always have flares, and run away from fights that you don't start. Laying down with 0% stealth and crawling you can still avoid over 90% of robots till they get within a few feet of you. It's not pay to win but buying any weapon dlc will give you 3 star weapons and attachments plus a good amount of ammo but be warned guns like the AT-WAD use extremally rare bullets that even late game are hard to come by. Making your ammo is much easier thus scrapping everything pays off. This game is more of a strategy game than a run and gun shooter, if you play this like a shooter you will want to get high ground or stay in buildings for most fights or carry flares. If you struggle at all get the US weapon pack and carry the N60 has a starting carry of 50 rounds without upgrades and does high damage and by far the easiest way to play like it's borderlands or I guess any shooter. That alone will carry you for about 70% of the game even if you use the 3 star starting one.
I don't know if patches have changed stuff but me and a friend just got the game on sale and I went straight for +100% mission xp and then straight for two points into finding more ammo. While I was using the 9mm SMG as my auto weapon and the .243 sniper, My 9mm FMJ was going up faster than I used it. Same with .243 SP. Yeah its not the better stuff but I had 4,000 9mm FMJ (SMG), while I was using the gun to finish off things that got close. We are playing on the medium difficulty and even after I put the SMG away to use a two crown gevar 4 as my auto weapon I'm still pulling more than I use, which I feed to my friend as he has DLC weapons I didn't buy. Which the N60 is powerful as all hell early game. Any "oh fuck" moment when a hunter got close to use he just shreds it with that. Honestly having that perk for getting more ammo is a must to me. He looted like maybe 100 total ammo from a harvester we killed and I looted like 150 7.62 FMJ, 40 buck shot, 40 .243 SP, and 110 9mm FMJ (SMG). We are still on the archipelago and 7.62 is easy to find with two ranks in that perk. I'm literally giving him 500-700 rounds once in a while and still keeping 1,200-1,500 on me.

I noticed (on my second watch of this vid) that you have a TINY frame counter in the upper right. It LOOKS like it's probably generated BY THE GAME? Maybe? Can you tell me HOW you got it there? Your PC performance seems EXCELLENT. What's your hardware? What resolution/settings are you running? Are you even playing the game anymore? Hehe! This game is extremely poorly optimized and the performance is terrible. I've spent months trying to get it to run well on my PC (even spent $300 on a new vid card just for this stupid game, which is BONKERS!) and it just stutters constantly NO MATTER WHAT. Even Tenebris' 3080 that he upgraded to recently chokes on the game when he's streaming/capturing video of his gameplay. I love the game, but it's a hot mess in terms of performance and bugginess. great video! watched the other guy, tenebre infinite i think is what his name is. really helpful over there too, but you went into it a more methodical approach, slow spoken and gave clear explanation regarding things in game. started played a few days ago with friends after putting it down for a few months when i first got it. I didn't know the electrical boxes on houses blow up for emp damage, though i'd always see them and think about strategy lol. running with friends is fun, and fights can get intense but one plays it like a shooter and the other a looter shooter at times so i am constantly throwing emp and laying down traps for the big bipeds. wish i would of gotten into this game when it came out and stuck with it lol. loving it so far just wish i could find better weapons and such. guess they're all stuck behind missions that allows them to spawn in the world. overall, great vid man, keep it up. subbed!
Hey George I got a question if you're still looking at the comments section of this video how do you get it to where it shows you where the components are when you're looking through the binoculars is it a certain type of binoculars or is it a skill?
I have never seen so many rivals on a map. I guess you haven't gotten into looting them yet. Edit: okay your later comment here says you know about farming level 4's so I guess you were waiting for a farm-fest. When you hear that high-pitched wind-up by the ticks that means they're about to explode so don't waste your ammo. They're immobile at that point too so you can get away.
They respawn. It is also a good idea to do this so rivals will spawn and level-up. You want them to reach level 4 so you can farm them for better drops.
Would have been cool to see weapons that new players would have to use. Don't see how it helps in a "new player" video, to have weapons they won't see till the game is half over.
Also wish this video would have been like 11min max. People are going to skim thru ur video. We wanna play the game ya know lol. Hurry up with the tips
Sorry, that probably is not going to change. I like to take my time and really explain my positions. Sometimes we get in a rush and we make mistakes. Profound response to my claim. Please explain why we see these shit systems in consoldes first and then when games get ported to PC similar shit systems remain. PC Gamers can use menus and quicksave buttons. Evidently that's too complex for some.
@@diomed011 I literally just said, consoles have alternative save systems, LIKE MENUS. It's the dev being lazy. And you, evidentially, being ignorant of console save systems.
Wrong, buddy. PC's crush consoles in performance. We get true 1440p and 4k while consoles upscale and downscale to maintain a pathetic 30 fps. Great to hear. Cheers!
Dope commentary! Literally just started playing a few hours ago. Hooked on it now lol
I appreciate the kind words. Have a good one!
Don’t forget to mention how important upgrading your skills are too
Hey George I got a question if you're still looking at the comments section of this video how do you get it to where it shows you where the components are when you're looking through the binoculars is it a certain type of binoculars or is it a skill?
It's been a while but I think it is the skill 'Spotting Intel' in the tech line.
Thanks.
You’re welcome
I have never seen so many rivals on a map. I guess you haven't gotten into looting them yet. Edit: okay your later comment here says you know about farming level 4's so I guess you were waiting for a farm-fest.
When you hear that high-pitched wind-up by the ticks that means they're about to explode so don't waste your ammo. They're immobile at that point too so you can get away.
Dude sounds a bit like Owen Wilson XD.
No way! LoL thanks for watching
About persistence, can I kill all enemies on the map ? Or is the game constantly generating new enemies ?
They respawn. It is also a good idea to do this so rivals will spawn and level-up. You want them to reach level 4 so you can farm them for better drops.
@@diomed011 Thank you for answering.
Can anyone confirm whether camouflage is a factor? I tend to wear bright colors, so idk if that is hindering my stealth
You say don’t feel bad running in to houses I hid in the back of the cargo truck 20 mins into the game
You do what ya gotta do to survive. No shame in that. 🤠
love the video.. your funnier than shit
Thanks! Appreciate it.
Have you seen equipment loss due to death? I lost my favorite AK and it was switched with a Auto-whatever-4..... Has anyone seen that?
I've never seen that. Could be a bug? Have you looked it up?
Would have been cool to see weapons that new players would have to use. Don't see how it helps in a "new player" video, to have weapons they won't see till the game is half over.
Good idea. I’ll try to do that next time.
You never explained how to change bullet types or how to put the binoculars into "tech mode".
What platform are you on?
“They ain’t you. They ain’t me”.
What are prestige points for?
Bragging rights. They give no in-game bonuses
@@diomed011 thank you
Do you need lvl2 tech sight to see components? I'm not seeing them
No, you need to find the blueprints for that particular machine in order to see the internals
@@diomed011 ya I just found that out. Thanks for the help
how did you get your HUD like that?
AFAIK it’s the default UI for PC 🤷♂️
how can i get a hud like that?
It’s the default pc ui AFAIK
Also wish this video would have been like 11min max. People are going to skim thru ur video. We wanna play the game ya know lol. Hurry up with the tips
Sorry, that probably is not going to change. I like to take my time and really explain my positions. Sometimes we get in a rush and we make mistakes. I'm a scientist by training so it's in my nature to be slow and methodical. I may start experiment with chapters so folks can skip ahead to the tips they need. I'm still learning. Cheers!
@George Brother, 13 year vet here so, one, thank you for your duty and service as a Police Officer and two.... Scientist or no,: K.I.S.S.: Keep It Simple and Stupid. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.. That's what the little "slidey bar thingie" is for at the bottom of the screen. Don't change a thing sir... Us older folks appreciate the details. You younger folks will get it soon enough, I promise!
do people actually feel like they're cheesing if they use the environment as cover?? lolol yah, you should just charge face first into a gunfight against a numerically and technologically superior enemy... seems brilliant. 🤣
Another issue I'm seeing as far as this video goes is that you just started playing yourself and your just going over what the game already tells you.
Can you give me an example? Are you referring to in-game tips in loading screens? I wonder if my subconscious did that without me realizing it. I'll look into it.
Ammo is rare? I'm running around with 5k 7.62 fmj's and I think 2k 7.62 AP and I always use this game's version of an AK.
I think I was pretty clear that I was talking about early game. Mid-game there is 7.62 every where, which I say. Did we not watch the entire video or just miss something?
@@diomed011 Oh getting smart with potential subscribers always a good move! No I was commenting on the retarded amount of ammo you tend to get for just that caliber for some reason. But no no go on chase away potential viewers if you want I mean it's not like I was saying you are full of crap in fact in the video you even mentioned this type tend to pop up way more.
CONSOLES are to blame for the crap save system? Sure, whatever. Because consoles don't have alternative save systems.
@@diomed011 And, i mean... it was released on PC first. Ported to console LATER. So the system remained... from the PC version.
Ok but like, console better buddy.
Wrong, buddy. PC's crush consoles in performance. We get true 1440p and 4k while consoles upscale and downscale to maintain a pathetic 30 fps. Consoles have led to a 'dumbing down' of the hobby with things like aim assist, quicktime events, assinine save systems and normalizing short, crappy main stories.
In addition, I can do my taxes on my PC. I can write a novel. I can edit videos.
