Dirk taking the 2014 Spurs to 7 games is considered "coasting by" but LeMickey getting blown out by them in 5 with the largest margin of victory for any finals series ever with another superstar on his team is somehow considered ok.
@@LoganArnold18 and in between these two events, what happened? Lebron and the heat won back to back, twice as many championships as Dirks career. Isiah Thomas really is a hell of a case. The analytics and the eye test are both lying in his case. Players with similar numbers don't erupt with legendary performances the way Zeke did, and players who look that good doing it usually have better numbers. Personally, I prefer guys who are consistently good to guys who are occasionally incredible, but when Zeke did get it going he was as good as it got.
Zeke sacrificed his stats for his team, being a true leader, which has no stat attached to that. Isiah could have had out-of-this-world stats if he wanted to, but he chose 'chips over stats.
@@RicardoAGuitar Probably because their teams asked or required them to do so in order to win. Look at someone like Bill Russell's stats. They are not world-beating stats, yet, he knew what he had to do to win 11 titles. Someone like Jordan had to score tons in order for them to win, so the team built around that.
So Clyde Drexler, Magic Johnson, Gary Peyton, Shawn Kemp, Karl Malone, and John Stockton are “plumbers”. Ok buddy, could you sound more desperate for ammo to justify some weak argument in favor of Lebron? Here’s a couple things to consider: Jordan played against REAL defense. By the time Lebron came along half the guys in the NBA weren’t even trying to D up and there wasn’t even so much as hand-checking allowed. Oh, and no one was joining up with manufactured super teams to win rings like your boy.
Clyde Drexler Gary Payton Shawn Kemp Karl Malone John Stockton Charles Barkley Hakeem Olajuwon Isiah Thomas Patrick Ewing David Robinson Shaquille O’Neal
As much as I *LOVE* Kemba Walker, Alonzo Mourning is the GOAT of the Charlotte Hornets. Lamelo is coming for that title, both Hornets GOAT, and NBA title. Good list, though. Sincerely, A new subscriber.
great stuff Barry, its pretty debated with the Blazers fanbase who is the GOAT but it'll pretty easily be Lillard by the end of it. Drexler himself definitely preferred the Rockets then and now, and there's an argument for Bill Walton too.
How can it be easily Dame when he’s had no where near the same postseason success? If Dame has some actual finals runs in Portland then sure, but winning zero games past the second round does not put someone above a player who led their team to 3 conference finals, 2 finals appearances, was 2nd in MVP voting to Michael Jordan, was more athletic and had much better defense.
good morning mr mccockiner. i cant help but notice you saying "now all curry needs is to win a finals mvp against a healthy finals opponent" and seeing how he did just that, what does that mean now?
4:26 Isaiah Thomas traded offensive stats for championships when Detroit transitioned from being an offense-first to a defense-first team. The Piston’s should have one three championships, but could have won four in a row. They were about to beat the Lakers in game six, then Isaiah sprained his ankle. They were also on their way to winning the final the previous year against the Celtics when Bird stole Thomas’s inbound pass in the final seconds of the game. The Pistons were playing against the Bird’s Celtics, Magic+Kareem’s Lakers, and MJ’s Bulls and still managed to win two championships. The 1987-88 Pistons who lost to the Lakers were better than the best of the Chicago Bulls teams.
Nice video. I feel you should of seperated the Sonics and Thunder : For the Sonics I feel it should of been Sickma or Peyton. I do respect you and this well done video though.
To me Shaq > Howard for the Magic because he faced much tougher comp. Shaq beat MJ when Dwight couldn’t beat Kobe and Dwight was the only elite center in the late 2010’s other than Tim Duncan while Shaq had to face guys like Hakeem, Ewing, Robinson, Mourning, Mutombo, Divac, Smits, and the list goes on.
Howard had to play against lebron and make a wish kids in 09 when they barely got past a Garnett less Boston. Should’ve won against the cavs in 4 considering he had a really good team
@@dbabu51 Yes, he did beat LeBron, but that doesn’t take away the difference in the center comp. It was between Dwight and Andrew Bynum in the late 2000’s and early 2010’s and don’t get me wrong, Bynum was good, but he isn’t even in the same universe as at least 5 of the centers Shaq had to face in the mid-late 90’s.
@@dbabu51 Definitely. If Jokic wins another MVP he can get inside the top 10 centers ever and if Embiid wins a ring or gets some MVPs he can get there too.

I don’t think it’s close. Wilt only played 6 seasons there (6 of the most individually brilliant offensive and defensive seasons any player has ever had) But when you mention a ‘franchise’s best player’ Steph has done more for the warriors in every quantifiable way. He’s; - played longer - scored more - won more And now he’s one of the longest tenured current players. There’s 100% an argument for who the better or greater player is all-time. But when you single out the warriors, it can be nobody else
That's pretty much saying the Pippen was a better Bull than Jordan (Just saying this makes me feel dirty, I HATE Pippen). Dumars was great, and a fantastic dude (met him once a while ago), but there are no Bad Boys 'Chips whitout the leadership of Isiah. Leadership has no stat.

Dirk taking the 2014 Spurs to 7 games is considered "coasting by" but LeMickey getting blown out by them in 5 with the largest margin of victory for any finals series ever with another superstar on his team is somehow considered ok.
Mavs players never get the proper credit they deserve nor does the team. Welcome to being a mavs fan.
First round exit vs finals loss but okay lol
@@hTPixuhl He also beat him in the finals in 6 3 years earlier...
@@LoganArnold18 and in between these two events, what happened? Lebron and the heat won back to back, twice as many championships as Dirks career. I’m not trying to dog on Dirk but you’re comparisons are outlandish. Dirk absolutely coasted to retirement after his ring and that’s fine. They haven’t made it out of the first round since that ring.
I always wonder what could have been hahaha. We had a great team that year, low-key. Who knows what noise we could have made
barry stay supplying us with goat content
"Plumbers and Community College students"? Charles Barkley thinks you're a knucklehead Barry
Honorable mention for the Pistons with Chauncey “Mr. Big Shot” Billups and Ben “Big Ben” Wallace. Wallace being in my opinion the greatest undrafted player in NBA history. It’s a crime he’s not in the hall of fame with his ring and 4 DPY’s.
He is in the Hall of Fame
Ben is actually the only undrafted Hall of Famer ever
Thank you for doing this for me Barry, you’re the real MVP
To be fair… I think Jordan may have actually been a Demigod. For around a decade, from the late eighties to the late nineties.
Good video. It’d be cool to see an all-star team build video for each conference, team, or decade, etc.
People love to virtue signal and dunk on Karl Malone as if he's completely ignored his racy past. He's made amends with the girl he got pregnant and has a good relationship with the son they had. What he did was super shitty, but I think we've all heard enough of it
Fr though
but was even the best player on his team?
Love your content Barry ❤️
And now Steph has that finals MVP
Appreciate you picking Lowry for the Raptors. American media members love to say that Kawhi or Carter are the best Raptors ever, but the fans know it’s Lowry at the top.
Saying Bird is better than Russell is a big stretch (no offense to Jason Collins)
*DeRozan didn't "leave", he was traded. He famously want to stay in T.O.
For the Suns I’d put Charles Barkley over Steve Nash because he was a better individual player and was able to take his team to the finals. Nash’s MVPs were more controversial imo and that’s saying something because Chuck won his over the GOAT.
I wasn’t aware that Charles Barkley played during lebron’s time
@@SMD1999 If Chuck player during LeBron’s time he would’ve racked up multiple MVPs and if the big three Heat couldn’t beat the Mavs in 2011 they fasho losing to the 93’ Suns.
@@henrypope4225 yeah I don't know about that.
CP3 definitely best Clipper and Pelican/Hornet for sure as of now.
@@TryPuttingItInRice Top 3 is probably CP3, Nash, and then Barkley I guess
Brandon Ingram is doing good, maybe CJ so maybe CP3 will have some competition
@@TryPuttingItInRice well Booker is still 25 and in his 7th season there so would be tough for CP3 to catch him since they're on the same team but he could def be top 3...
AD's tenure was longer and he lead them to the same level of playoff success.
@@benjaminan1183 it's a toss up between the two of them.
@@HllywoodNova Then why do lots of guys with much better stats have as many or more rings?
@@RicardoAGuitar Probably because their teams asked or required them to do so in order to win. Look at someone like Bill Russell's stats. They are not world-beating stats, yet, he knew what he had to do to win 11 titles. Someone like Jordan had to score tons in order for them to win, so the team built around that.
@@RicardoAGuitar Then you have stat padders who didn't win shit, because they weren't true leaders.
@@HllywoodNova But I didn't bring those guys up; I brought up the guys with stats and rings
Barry on that upload grind, love the content barry
Man, no one ever gives Stockton any love.
Utah and Karl Malone made his legendary career look worthless . If he's teamed up with Barkley or Ewing . They would have won a ring
As a Grizz fan who watched Gasol growing up it's close. Ja is the most talented player we have ever had, he will overtake Gasol soon
He’s back!
This man is just amazing
16:25 “plus he has a really thick ass…wow” 🤣 too funny
Love your vids. Can you try out some nhl videos. I think your style be so much fun to see there
It’s no coincidence that the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavs got back to back segments in this video.
Alphabetical order
I still think Bob McAdoo is better than CP3 for the clippers because he was their only mvp and had less talent around him than cp3.
Bradys back
Its the reach around comment about the greek freak that had me laughing hard .. you got a new fan here !!
barry actually knows ball it’s crazy.
I hate Lebron James and his fanboys.
Don’t forget Chuck and Hakeem, throw in Robinson, Ewing, and Shaq
Clyde Drexler
Gary Payton
Shawn Kemp
Karl Malone
John Stockton
Charles Barkley
Hakeem Olajuwon
Isiah Thomas
Patrick Ewing
David Robinson
Shaquille O’Neal
Yo Barry, I know you hate running backs but can you make a top 15 running backs of all time video?
it feels weird yet satisfying to hear barry complement players
Z-bo the greatest Grizzly of all time. So underrated his whole career
You are correct sir
Dude i fucking love your videos your humour makes me crease 😂
As much as I *LOVE* Kemba Walker, Alonzo Mourning is the GOAT of the Charlotte Hornets. Lamelo is coming for that title, both Hornets GOAT, and NBA title. Good list, though.
Sincerely,
A new subscriber.
great stuff Barry, its pretty debated with the Blazers fanbase who is the GOAT but it'll pretty easily be Lillard by the end of it.
Gilbert “Bring a Gun to The” Arenas
I fucking lost it at "Manboobs Harden" 🤣

good morning mr mccockiner. i cant help but notice you saying "now all curry needs is to win a finals mvp against a healthy finals opponent" and seeing how he did just that, what does that mean now?

Imagine is Jason Kidd had been a better scorer. Would’ve been terrifying.
Nice video. I feel you should of seperated the Sonics and Thunder : For the Sonics I feel it should of been Sickma or Peyton. I do respect you and this well done video though.
“All Steph curry needs now is to win finals mvp without kevin durant”
Lol
I still can’t believe the hornets traded Alonzo
W for putting Lowry
@@henrypope4225 yeah I know the centers sucked from then to now but centers are making a resurgence
@@dbabu51 Definitely. If Jokic wins another MVP he can get inside the top 10 centers ever and if Embiid wins a ring or gets some MVPs he can get there too.

Based on my observations, it seems like most people hate Lebron because of his activism.
That Warriors take has aged well 😅
For me it's still a coin-flip between him and Wilt for the franchise's best player.
I don’t think it’s close.
Wilt only played 6 seasons there (6 of the most individually brilliant offensive and defensive seasons any player has ever had)
But when you mention a ‘franchise’s best player’ Steph has done more for the warriors in every quantifiable way.
He’s;
- played longer
- scored more
- won more
And now he’s one of the longest tenured current players.
There’s 100% an argument for who the better or greater player is all-time.
But when you single out the warriors, it can be nobody else

You will be aright y’all got all of them picks.
@@DCJ9 Yeah, and Shai is fucking amazing.
Was a painful pill to swallow though.
I always thought dumars was the goat for the pistons Thomas was flashy, but dumars was the whole package in terms of basketball
Solid list. Would have Kobe above magic, but still understandible
