Nobody can replace Harisson Ford as Indiana Jones, we saw the movie yesterday on the big screen and it was as expected an awesome thrilling experience. The making of Raiders is worth a watch if you can find it. Theres a lot explained on the truck chase, such as stomach padding (polystyrene block) it can be see nin some bts moments, also the under the truck, they dug a trench for the stunt guy to have room below the truck to pass under. really cool stuff. and the camera itself was put at a certain speed to make it appear quicker on film, you can see the slate in a shot, and it shows the speed of the camera for this sequence All cool stuff. Temple of Doom was originally called Temple of Death (the name was changed later. I went to the crew screening before it opened as my late father worked on it. So I was lucky. The PG rating came from a few things. It was quite a dark cut that we watched. Initially Mola Rams hand would be seen tearing the guys heart out properly, it was graphic, but the final film it was cut cleverly, there was alot of whipping of the kids and in particular there was a scene where Short round got whipped. If you watch in the scene where Indy gets whipped theres a close up of shorty all dishevelled, that was the part cut away. Its not just the Kate Capshaw stuff being lowered, it was essential y what Ive mentioned. Im glad i had the opportunity to see it before it was cut
I'm amazed that this video starts off with a discussion about the truck scene in "Raiders" but never mentions that most of that stunt was done by Terry Leonard, not Harrison Ford. Ford WAS dragged behind the truck at a slow speed (on a blanket of sorts) for some close-ups. But this video seems to imply that it was Ford who went down from the front of the truck, underneath and came out the other side. That didn't happen.
I feel like they over did it with the cannons for the warehouse scene where Indy blasts through the crates. The explosion is so big that people often think it's CGI

Although, the Frank Darabont City of the Gods script still had the non-believable refrigerator scene in the script.
